Urinary incontinence (UI) is a common problem worldwide.It has a major impact on physical and social activities and interpersonal relationships.UI is common in women,but is under-reported and undertreated.It affects the quality of life of female patients severely.acupuncture and moxibustion have been proposed as potentially effective interventions for female UI.Hence,for the benefit of acupuncture practitioners around the world,the World Federation of acupuncture-moxibustion Societies initiated a project to develop a clinical practice guideline (CPG) for the use of acupuncture and moxibustion to treat female UI.This CPG was developed according to the Grading of Recommendations Assessment,Development,and Evaluation (GRADE) methodology,referring to the principles of the World Health Organization Handbook for Guideline Development.During the development of the CPG,the guideline development group (GDG) played an important role.The clinical questions,recommendations and therapeutic protocols were all formulated by GDG using the modified Delphi method.This CPG contains ten recommendations about the use of acupuncture and moxibustion interventions for ten clinical questions,which include nine conditional recommendations for the intervention and one conditional recommendation for either the intervention or the comparison.This CPG also provides one protocol for conventional filiform needle therapy,two therapy protocols for deep needling stimulation on lumbosacral acupoints,and four moxibustion therapy protocols,based on the protocols presented in randomized controlled trials reviewed by the GDG.

acupuncture is one of the most effective complementary therapies for allergic rhinitis(AR)and has been recommended by several clinical practice guidelines(CPGs)for AR.However,these CPGs mentioned acupuncture without making recommendations for clinical implementation and therapeutic protocols,therefore limiting the applicability of acupuncture therapies for AR.Hence,for the benefit of acupuncture practitioners around the world,the World Federation of acupuncture-moxibustion Societies have initiated a project to develop the CPG for the use of acupuncture and moxibustion to treat AR.This CPG was developed according to the Grading of Recommendations Assessment,Development,and Evaluation(GRADE)methodology,referring to the principles of the World Health Organization Handbook for Guideline Development.During the development of the CPG,the guideline development group(GDG)played an important role.The clinical questions,recommendations and therapeutic protocols were all formulated by the GDG using the modified Delphi method.The CPG contains recommendations for 15 clinical questions about the use of acupuncture and moxibustion interventions.These include one strong recommendation for the intervention based on high-quality evidence,three conditional recommendations for either the intervention or standard care,and 11 conditional recommendations for the intervention based on very low quality of evidence.The CPG also provides one filiform needle acupuncture protocol and five moxibustion protocols extracted based on the protocols presented in randomized controlled trials reviewed by the GDG.

Use of Evidence-Based Research Approach in RCTs of acupuncture-Related Therapies for Primary Dysmenorrhea: A Meta-Research

Objective To assess the use of evidence-based research(EBR)approach in randomized controlled trials(RCTs)of acupuncture-related therapies for primary dysmenorrhea(PD).Methods PubMed,EMBASE,Cochrane Library,China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wanfang Database,Chinese Biomedical Database,and China Science and Technology Journal Database were searched from January 2013 to December 2022 for RCTs of acupuncture on PD.The full text and references of each RCT were read to assess whether systematic reviews(SRs)or other types of studies with similar research questions and end-users’perspectives were cited to justify and design the trial.In addition,the discussion section were analyzed to evaluate whether trials placed the new result in the existing SRs to draw a conclusion.Multivariable logistic regression was used to find variables that associated with 3 aspects of EBR approach:(1)citing clinical studies for justification,(2)citing relevant studies that obtain the perspectives of end users,and(3)citing clinical studies for results discussion.Results Of 473 RCTs included,45.67%(216)of the trials cited relevant similar studies,21.56%(102)referenced to the studies that collected end-users’perspectives,and 10.99%(52)placed result in the context of the previous research.Few RCTs appropriately applied EBR approach.Among all the included studies,3.17%(15)of the trials used SRs to inform study questions but none of them used updated SRs with acceptable quality;1.05%(5)of the trials cited SRs of end-user’s perspectives in the justification and design of the study,and only 1 trial added results in existing SR to draw a conclusion.Year of publication,language,funding,registration,ethical approval and number of sites were significantly associated with 1 of the 3 aspects of EBR approach.Conclusions Few RCTs in acupuncture-related therapies for PD used the EBR approach to minimize research redundancy.Researchers,research institutes,funding agencies,ethics committees,journals and peer reviewers in acupuncture should make efforts to

This paper deals with whether the posterior hypothalamus area(PHA) can receive signals from electroacupuncture(EA) at "Neiguan", and whether a relative specificity does exist between acupoints or acupoint and non-acupoint The neuron activity was recorded extracellularly for analyzing the influence of EA at different acupoints and nonacupoint on the discharge of PHA neurons.

Communication between sympathetic nerves and the immune system is a crucial and active process during myocardial ischemia (MI)， as myocardial damage and inflammatory stimuli concurrently occur. Sympathetic nerves undergo structural and functional changes after MI， leading to adverse left ventricular (LV) remodeling and heart failure (HF). The complex inflammatory response to MI， including local myocardial anti-inflammatory repair and systemic immune reactions， plays a key role in adverse LV remodeling. Here， we review the progressive structural and electrophysiological remodeling of the LV and the involvement of sympathetic tone in complex and dynamic processes that are susceptible to MI pathological conditions. acupuncture has been reported to effectively improve cardiac function， eliminate arrhythmia， and mitigate adverse LV remodeling via somatosensory regulation after MI. Moreover， acupuncture has an anti-inflammatory effect on the pathological process of myocardial ischemia. In this Review， we aim to summarize the involvement of sympathetic nerve activation in the neuro-immune modulation of structural and functional cardiac changes after MI. As a noninvasive method for sympathetic regulation， acupuncture is an ideal option because of its anti-ischemic efficacy. A better understanding of the neural circuitry that regulates cardiac function and immune responses following MI could reveal novel targets for acupuncture treatment.

In the present study, the activation of the nociceptive dorsal horn neurons in rats by iontophoretic substance P （SP） has been observed. Thus, the role of SP in spinal nociception is further identified.In addition, the inhibitory effects of iontophoretic SP on nociceptive response （C response） of dorsal horn neurons can also be observed even in rats that have undergone dorsal half transection of spinal cord. These inhibitory effects can be partially blocked by pretreatment with iontophoretic bicuculline but not by naloxone. It indicates that the SP-induced inhibitory effects on the nociceptive response may be mainly mediated by the presynaptic inhibition in which γ-aminobutyric acid （GABA） may be involved.In view of the fact that the inhibitory effect of stimulation of nucleus raphe magnus （NRM） on the nociceptive response of dorsal horn neurons in rats depleted of 5-HT with parachlorophenylalanine （pCPA） can be significantly blocked by iontophoretie SP-antagonist, it is supposed that SP may be involve

OBJECTIVE: To explore the therapeutic efficacy of acupuncture treatment on repeated implantation failure(RIF) patients with cryo-thawed embryo transfer(CET).METHODS: In a retrospective cohort study, all eligible women undergoing RIF were recruited in our center from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2021. The patients were grouped by whether an acceptance of acupuncture treatment before CET, including the acupuncture group(Acu-group, 55 cycles) and control group(Con-group,244 cycles). Data were analyzed by using binary logistic regression to explore the relationship of acupuncture treatment with pregnancy outcomes.RESULTS: The Acu-group had higher live-birth rate(LBR)[54.5% vs 41.0%, respectively; odds ratio(OR) = 1.105,95% confidence interval(CI)(1.029, 1.187), P = 0.006]and ongoing pregnancy rate(OPR) [56.4% vs 43.0%,respectively; OR = 1.100, 95% CI(1.025, 1.181), P =0.008] than the Con-group. There were no significant between-group differences in the rates of implantation [OR = 1.070, 95% CI(0.996, 1.149), P = 0.064], clinical pregnancy [OR = 1.065, 95% CI(0.997, 1.138), P =0.061], biochemical pregnancy [OR = 1.002, 95% CI(0.903, 1.112), P = 0.967], or miscarriage [OR = 0.778,95% CI(0.551, 1.099), P = 0.155]. Perinatal outcomes did not differ significantly between the two groups.CONCLUSIONS: acupuncture treatment could improve the LBR and OPR in RIF patients with CET cycles,suggesting a potential adjuvant therapy of acupuncture to improve the pregnancy outcomes in RIF patients.

为了探讨在内脏-耳穴反应中是否有体液因素参与,用10只家兔(5对)进行了交叉循环实验。在交叉循环的同时,对每对家兔中的一只进行心脏刺激。在交叉循环和心脏刺激后发生了耳穴平均导电量的显著增加,持续约5天,与交叉循环前比,有统计学的显著差异。两只家兔的增加程度和变化趋势是一致的和同步的。但心脏被刺激的家兔有心电图的变化而未刺激心脏者无变化。对照组的5对家兔也进行交叉循环但不刺激心脏,没有任何变化出现。结果说明,内脏受刺激或病变后产生的内脏-耳穴反应可通过体液因素进行,至于是何种物质,当需进一步研究。
