Photocatalytic degradation of 4-chlorophenol under P-modified TiO2/UV system: Kinetics, intermediates, phytotoxicity and acute toxicity

A series of phosphorus-modified titanium dioxide samples with varying P/Ti atomic ratio were conveniently prepared via a conventional solgel route. The effects of phosphorus content and calcination temperature on the crystalline structure, grain growth, surface area, and the photocatalytic activity of P-modified TiO2 were investigated. The XRD results showed that P species slow down the particle growth of anatase and increase the anatase-to-rutile phase transformation temperature to more than 900°C. Kinetic studies on the P-modified TiO2 to degraded 4-chlorophenol had found that the TP5500 prepared by adopting a P/Ti atomic ratio equal to 0.05 and calcined at 500°C had an apparent rate constant equal to 0.0075 min 1, which is superior to the performance of a commercial photocatalyst degussa P25 Kapp = 0.0045 min 1 and of unmodified TiO2 （TP0500） Kapp = 0.0022 min 1. From HPLC analyses, various hydroxylated intermediates formed during oxidation had been identified, including hydroquinone （HQ）, benzoquinone （BQ） and （4CC） 4-chlorocatechol as main products. Phytotoxicity was assessed before and after irradiation against seed germination of tomato （Lycopersicon esculentum） whereas acute toxicity was assessed by using Folsomia candida as the test organism. Intermediates products were all less toxic than 4-chlorophenol and a significant removal of the overall toxicity was accomplished

Since 3D mesh security has become intellectual property,3D watermarking algorithms have continued to appear to secure 3D meshes shared by remote users and saved in distant multimedia *** novelty of our approach is that it uses a new Clifford-multiwavelet transform to insert copyright data in a multiresolution domain,allowing us to greatly expand the size of the *** that,our method does two rounds of insertion,each applying a different type of Clifford-wavelet *** being placed into the Clifford-multiwavelet coefficients,the watermark,which is a mixture of the mesh description,source mesh signature(produced using SHA512),and a logo encrypted using the RSA(Ronald Shamir Adleman)technique,is encoded using *** the Least Significant Bit method steps,data embedding involves modulation and insertion ***,the watermarked mesh is reconstructed using the inverse Cliffordmultiwavelet *** to the utilization of a hybrid insertion domain,our technique has demonstrated a very high insertion rate while retaining mesh *** mesh is watermarked,and the extracted data is acquired in *** approach is also resistant to the most common types of *** findings reveal that the current approach improves on previous efforts.

The present work presents a study of the biological treatment of fish processing wastewa at salt concentration of 55 g/L. Wastewater was treated by both continuous stirred-ta reactor（CSTR） and membrane bioreactor（MBR） during 50 and 100 days, respectively. Th biological processes involved salt-tolerant bacteria from natural hypersaline environme at different organic loading rates（OLRs）. The phylogenetic analysis of the correspond excised DGGE bands has demonstrated that the taxonomic affiliation of the most domin species includes Halomonadaceae and Flavobacteriaceae families of the Proteobacteria（Gamm proteobacteria class） and the Bacteroidetes phyla, respectively. The results of MBR w better than those of CSTR in the removal of total organic carbon with efficiencies from 97 to 98.6%. Nevertheless, salinity with increasing OLR aggravates fouling that requires m cleaning for a membrane in MBR while leads to deterioration of sludge settleability a effluent quality in CSTR.

Colorectal cancer(CRC) is one of the most common human cancers and the cause of about 700000 deaths per year worldwide. deregulation of the WNT/β-catenin pathway is a key event in CRC initiation. This pathway interacts with other nuclear signaling pathways, including members of the nuclear receptor superfamily and their transcription coregulators. In this review, we provide an overview of the literature dealing with the main coactivators(NCo A-1 to 3, NCo A-6, PGC1-α, p300, CREBBP and MED1) and corepressors(N-Co R1 and 2, NRIP1 and MTA1) of nuclear receptors and summarize their links with the WNT/β-catenin signaling cascade, their expression in CRC and their role in intestinal physiopathology.

Diabetes mellitus(DM),the 10th leading cause of death worldwide,is a major and growing public health problem estimated to affect more than 578 million people in 2030 and 700 million people in 2045[1].In diabetic animals,protein glycation and glucose autoxidation generate free radicals,which cause lipid ***,reactive oxygen species(ROS)can quickly accumulate,decrease antioxidant activity,and cause deterioration of kidney and liver function.A disrupted redox balance in cells also damages crucial biomolecules such as deoxyribonucleic acid(DNA),proteins and *** stress(OS)is elevated in diabetes mellitus and may be a major factor in the development and evolution of the typical long-term pathophysiology of diabetes and its associated complications[2].

In this paper we deal with a class of uncertain time-varying nonlinear systems with a state delay. Under some assumptions, we construct some stabilizing continuous feedback, i.e. linear and nonlinear in the state, which can guarantee global uniform exponential stability and global uniform practical convergence of the considered system. The quadratic Lyapunov function for the nominal stable system is used as a Lyapunov candidate function for the global system. The results developed in this note are applicable to a class of dynamical systems with uncertain time-delay. Our result is illustrated by a numerical example.

Reconstituted wood panels have several advantages in terms of ease of manufacturing,but their shorter life span results in a huge amount of reconstituted wood panels being discarded in sorting centers ***,the most common approach for dealing with this waste is *** this study,reconstituted wood panels were converted into activated biochar through a two-step thermochemical process:(i)biochar production using pilot scale fast pyrolysis at 250 kg/h and 450℃;and(ii)a physical activation at three temperatures(750℃,850℃ and 950℃)using an in-house activation furnace(1 kg/h).Results showed that the first stage removed about 66% of the nitrogen from the wood panels in the form of NO,NH3,and trimethylamine,which were detected in small amounts compared to emitted CO_(2).Compared to other types of thermochemical conversion methods(e.g.,slow pyrolysis),isocyanic acid and hydrogen cyanide were not detected in this *** second stage produced activated biochar with a specific surface area of up to 865 m^(2)/g at 950℃.The volatile gases generated during activation were predominantly composed of toluene and *** two-step process resulted in nitrogen-rich carbon in the form of pyrrolic and pyridinic *** biochars were then evaluated for their SO_(2) retention performance and showed an excellent adsorption capacity of up to 2140 mg/g compared to 65 mg/g for a commercial activated carbon(889 m^(2)/g).End-of-life reconstituted wood panels and SO_(2) gas are problematic issues in Canada where the economy largely revolves around forestry and mining industries.
