How to make machines express emotions would be inst.umental in establishing acompletely new paradigm for man machine interaction. A new method for simulating and assessingartificial psychology has been developed for the research of the emotion robot. The human psychologyactivity is regarded as a Markov process. An emotion space and psychology model is constructedbased on Markov process. The conception of emotion entropy is presented to assess the artificialemotion complexity. The simulating results play up to human psychology activity. This model can alsobe applied to consumer-friendly human-computer interfaces, and interactive video etc.

A genetic algorithm based on the nested intervals chaos search (NICGA) hasbeen given. Because the nested intervals chaos search is introduced into the NICGA to initialize thepopulation and to lead the evolution of the population, the NICGA has the advantages of decreasingthe population size, enhancing the local search ability, and improving the computational efficiencyand optimization precision. In a multi4ayer feed forward neural network model for predicting thesilicon content in hot metal, the NICGA was used to optimize the connection weights and thresholdvalues of the neural network to improve the prediction precision. The application results show thatthe precision of predicting the silicon content has been increased.

Though progress has been made in fractal compression techniques, the longencoding times still remain the main drawback of this technique, which results from the need ofperforming a large number of range-domain matches. The total encoding time is the sum of the timerequired to perform each match. In order to make this method more efficient in practical use, thefuzzy theory based on feature extraction of the projection and normalized codebook method has beenprovided to optimize the encoding time, based on the c-means clustering approach. The results of theimplementation of Rate Mean Square (RMS), Peak signal noise ratio (PSNR) and the encoding time ofthis proposed method have been compared to other methods like the Feature Extraction andSelf-orgarnization methods to show its efficiency.

A new design of vision based soccer robot using the type TMS320F240 of DSPs for MiroSot series is presented. The DSP used enables cost effective control of DC motor, and features fewer external components, lower system cost and better performances than traditional microcontroller. The hardware architecture of robot is firstly presented in detail, and then the software design is briefly discussed. The control structure of decision making subsystem is illuminated also in this paper. The conclusion and prospect are given at last.

2-D RAKE receiver is an efficient way to realize the space-time processing for CDMA systems with aperiodic spreading codes. The Direction Of Arrival (DOA) and the relative time delay of every user's multipath must be known to realize the 2-D RAKE receiver. In the third generation CDMA mobile communication system, auxiliary pilot channel is used in the uplink channels The different user's Vector Channel Impulse Response (VCIR) can be estimated from the pilotichannel easily. The VCIR contains spatial and temporal info.mation. In this paper,by utilizing the known pulse shape function, a parameter matrix method used to estimate the Spatial Signature Vector (SSV) and the relative time delay is proposed in frequency *** DOA can be estimated from the SSV. By reconstructing the SSV and utilizing approximate Capon space filter, the performance of the 2-D RAKE receiver with uniform circular array can be improved with a little additional computation work.

A scheme for general purposed FDTD visual scientific computing software is introduced in this paper using object-oriented design (OOD) method. By abstracting the parameters of FDTD grids to an individual class and separating from the iteration procedure, the visual software can be adapted to more comprehensive computing problems. Real-time gray degree graphic and wave curve of the results can be achieved using DirectX technique. The special difference equation and data structure in dispersive medium are considered, and the peculiarity of parameters in perfectly matched layer are also discussed.

This paper proposed a novel fragile watermarking scheme based on singular value decomposition (SVD) and 2D chaotic mapping. It obtains chaotic initial values from the image blocks singular value decomposition and the user’s key, then uses the chaotic mapping to get the chaotic sequence and inserts the sequence into the LSBs of the image blocks to get the watermarked image blocks. The paper reconstructed the watermarked image from all the embedded blocks. The analysis and experimental results show that the scheme is pretty fragile to tampering, and it can localize the tampering position accurately, reach 3×3 blocks.

Based on the clonal selection theory and immune memory theory, a novel artificial immune system algorithm, immune memory clonal programming algorithm (IMCPA), is put forward. Using the theorem of Markov chain, it is proved that IMCPA is convergent. Compared with some other evolutionary programming algorithms (like Breeder genetic algorithm), IMCPA is shown to be an evolutionary strategy capable of solving complex machine learning tasks, like high-dimensional function optimization, which maintains the diversity of the population and avoids prematurity to some extent, and has a higher convergence speed.

An experimental study of the drying characteristics of an agitated fluidized bed dryer is presented and discussed. In the study, the citric acid particles were used as bed material with the diameters ranging from 0.2 mm to 1.3 mm. The variables affecting apparently the drying rate were found to be the mass flow rate, the inlet air temperature, the rotary speed of agitating mechanism and the particles feed rate. Comparing with other variables considered, mass flow rate was found to have the least important influence on the drying rate. The agitated fluidized bed dryer is suitable to drying agglomerating or sticky materials.
