Polar codes based OFdM-PLC systems in the presence of impulsive noise

Power line communication(PLC)has the potential to become the preferred technique for providing broadband communication to homes and offices with advantage of eliminating the need for new wiring infrastructure and reducing the *** it suffers from the impulsive noise because it introduces significant time variance into the power line *** this paper,a polar codes based orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFdM)PLC system is proposed to deal with the impulsive noise and thereby improve the transmission ***,the impulsive noise is modelled with a multi-damped sine function by analyzing the time behavior of impulse *** the polar codes are used to combat the impulsive noise of PLC channel,and a low complexity bit-flipping decoding method based on CrC-aided successive cancellation list(CA-SCL)decoding algorithm is *** evaluate the proposed decoding algorithm and the results validate the suggested polar codes based OFdM-PLC scheme which can improve the BEr performance of PLC with impulsive interference.

＜正＞This paper proposes a syllabie context dependent model for spontaneous speech recognition. It is generally assumed that, since spontaneous speech is greatly affected by coarticulation, an acoustic model featuring a longer range phonemic context is required to achieve a high degree of recognition accuracy. This motivated the authors to investigate a tri-syllable model that takes differences in the preceding and succeeding syllables into account. Since Japanese syllables consist of either a single vowel or a consonam and vowel combination, a tri-syllable model always rakes the preceding and succeeding vowels that are the primarv factors in coarticulation into account. A tri-svllable model is thus capable of efficientry representing coarticulation. The tri-syllable model was trained using spontaneous speech;then, the effectiveness of continuous syllable recognition and statistical language model-based continuous word recognition were evaluated. Compared to a regular triphone model without state sharing, it was found that the correct syllable accuracy of the continuous syllable recognition improved fronl 64.9% to 66.3%. The word recognition accuracy for the statistieal language modelbased continuous word recognition improved from 88.4% to 89.2%.

The liquid-cooled battery energy sto rage system(LCBESS) has gained significant attention due to its superior thermal management ***,liquid-cooled battery pack(LCBP) usually has a high sealing level above IP65,which can trap flammable and explosive gases from battery thermal runaway and cause *** poses serious safety risks and challenges for *** this study,we tested overcharged battery inside a commercial LCBP and found that the conventionally mechanical pressure relief valve(PrV) on the LCBP had a delayed response and low-pressure relief efficiency.A realistic 20-foot model of an energy storage cabin was constructed using the Flacs finite element simulation *** studies were conducted to evaluate the pressure relief efficiency and the influence on neighboring battery packs in case of internal explosions,considering different sizes and installation positions of the ***,a newly developed electric-controlled PrV integrated with battery fault detection is introduced,capable of starting within 50 ms of the battery safety valve ***,the PrV was integrated with the battery management system and changed the battery charging and discharging strategy after the PrV was *** tests confirmed the efficacy of this method in preventing *** paper addresses the safety concerns associated with LCBPs and proposes an effective solution for explosion relief.

＜正＞In the next generation photonic networks controlled by the GMPLS （Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switching） protocols, reliability of the control plane is a mandate requirement. This paper discusses requirements of a control plane over a ring network and examines several schemes to support it, considering failure recovery and easiness of administration. It also proposes a simple method to establish the control plane over a ring network based upon VLAN （Virtual LAN） technology.

recommendation has become increasingly important because of the information overload. Collaborative filtering(CF) technique, as the most popular recommendation method, utilizes the historical preferences of users to predict their future interests on other ***, CF technique requires collecting users’ rating information, which may lead to the disclosure of privacy. We propose a new randomized perturbation approach Time-drifting privacy-preserving collaborative filtering(TPPCF) to well balance privacy of users and accuracy of recommendation. Since users’ recent ratings can better represent their interests and preferences, we incorporate a varying weight into the approach. Specifically, we assign higher weights to more recent ratings both when computing user similarity and perturbing users’ ratings. To further improve the efficiency, we cluster the users into several groups to reduce computation cost. We demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of our method through experiments on Movie Lens dataset, which shows TPPCF can achieve higher privacy while generating more accurate recommendation.

An analysis of the radar backscattering from the ocean surface covered by oil spill is presented using a mi- crowave scattering model and Monte-Carlo simulation. In the analysis, a one-dimensional rough sea sur- face is numerically generated with an ocean waveheight spectrum for a given wind velocity. A two-layered medium is then generated by adding a thin oil layer on the simulated rough sea surface. The electric fields backscattered from the sea surface with two-layered medium are computed with the method of moments （MoM）, and the backscattering coefficients are statistically obtained with N independent samples for each oil-spilled surface using the Monte-Carlo technique for various conditions of surface roughness, oil-layer thickness, frequency, polarization and incidence angle. The numerical simulation results are compared with theoretical models for clean sea surfaces and SAr images of an off-spilled sea surface caused by the Hebei （Hebei province, China） Spirit oil tanker in 2007. Further, conditions for better oil spill extraction are sought by the numerical simulation on the effects of wind speed and oil-layer thickness at different inci- dence angles on the backscattering coefficients.
