A rapid method was developed for the determination of diazinon in plasma using gas chromatography with electron-capture detection (GC-ECD). Following a single extraction with hexane from 100μl of plasma, diazinon was quantitated on a 3% OV-17 column. The detection limit was 10 ng/ml and linearity was obtained in the range of 25 ng/ml-2500 ng/*** applicability of the assay to single-dose kinetics in rats is illustrated

1 Introduction A method in vascular tissue engineering to obtain hemocompatible synthetic prosthesis consist s to cover the luminal surface by a monolayer of endothelial cell s(ECs).Nevertheless,the surface of current prosthesi s does not favour the development of an ECs ***,a new versatile method of self2assembled archi2 tectures based on the alternate adsorption of polycations and polyanions has been developed to lead to the build2up of multilayered polyelectrolyte films(MPF).This new type of surface modification offers also large possibilities for varying the physico2chemical properties such as rough2 ness or surface charges,film thickness and viscoelastic properties.

AIM： To analyse αv integrin expression induced by gas- trin in pancreatic cancer ***： αv integrin mRNA expression in human pan- creatic cancer cells was analysed using a ＂cancer genes＂ array and confirmed by real-time reverse transcription- polymerase chain reaction （PCR）. Western blotting and semi-quantitative immunohistochemistry were used to examine protein levels in human pancreatic cancer cell lines and pancreatic tissues, respectively, The role of αv integrin on gastrin-induced cell adhesion was examined using blocking anti-αv integrin monoclonal antibodies. Adherent cells were quantified by staining with crystal ***： using a ＂cancer genes＂ array we identi- fied c^v integrin as a new gastrin target gene in human pancreatic cancer cells. A quantitative real-time PCR approach was used to confirm αv integrin gene expression. We also demonstrate that Src family kinases and the PI 3-kinase, two signalling pathways specifically activated by the CCK-2 receptor （CCK2R）, are involved in gastrin-mediated αv integrin expression. In contrast, inhibition of the ERK pathway was without any effect on αv integrin expression induced by gastrin. Our results also show that gastrin modulates cell adhesion via αv integrins. Indeed, in vitro adhesion assays performed on fibronectin show that gastrin significantly increases adhesion of pancreatic cancer cells. The use of blocking anti-αv integrin monoclonal antibodies completely reversed the increase in cell-substrate adhesion induced by gastrin. In addition, we showed in vivo that the targeted CCK2R expression in the pancreas of Elas-CCK2 mice, leads to the overexpression of αv integrin. This process may contribute to pancreatic turnout development observed in these transgenic ***： αv integrin is a new gastrin target in pancreatic cancer models and contributes to gastrin effects on cell adhesion.

Cholesterol, being the starting point of steroid hormone synthesis, is a long known modulator of both female and male reproductive physiology especially at the level of the gonads and the impact cholesterol has on gametogenesis. Less is known about the effects cholesterol homeostasis may have on postgonadic reproductive functions. Lately, several data have been reported showing how imbalanced cholesterol levels may particularly affect the post-testicular events of sperm maturation that lead to fully fertile male gametes. This review will focus on that aspect and essentially centers on how cholesterol is important for the physiology of the mammalian epididymis and spermatozoa.

The toxicokinetics, tissue distribution, and anticholinesteruse (antiChE ) activity of diazinon were investigated in the rat. Plasma concentrations most adequately fitted a two-compartment open model after iv administration of 10 mg/kg and a one-compartment model after oral administration of 80 mg/kg. Diazinon elimination half-life following iv and oral dosing was 4.70 and 2.86 h, respectively. The oral bioavailabllity was found to be low (35.5%). We suggest that during severe acute pancreatitis(SAP)with intra-abdominal hypertension,practitioners should consider decompressive laparotomy,even with intra-abdominal pressure(IAP)below 25 ***,in this setting,non-occlusive mesenteric ischemia(NOMI)may occur even with IAP below this cutoff and lead to transmural necrosis if abdominal perfusion pressure is not promptly *** report our experience of 18 critically ill patients with SAP having undergone decompressive laparotomy of which one third had NOMI while IAP was mostly below 25 mmHg.
