Objective:To investigate the effect of anesthesia on the cognitive status damage and MMP-2expression in ***:A total of 120 healthy rats were selected and randomly divided into the control group,CF3-CH(OCH2F)-CF3(Sevoflurane)group and CF3-CH2-O-CHF-CF3group(Sevoflurane)(n=40).After training for 3 d by the Morris water maze,the control group were injected with fentanyl for analgesia,the CF3-CH(OCH2F)-CF3 group and the CF3-CH2-O-CHFCF3 group were anesthesia with CF3-CH(OCH2F)-CF3 and CF3-CH2-O-CHF-CF3 on the basis of fentanyl,then rats in three groups underwent open surgery and suture conventional *** water maze was used to measure the rats cognitive ability in three groups on the 1st d,3rd d,5th d and 7th d,and the brain tissue MMP-2 expression was ***:After1 d/7 d of the surgery,Morris water maze performance and MMP-2 expression were not significantly different among three groups(P>0.05);After 3 d/5 d of the surgery,compared with the control group,the Morris water maze test result was significantly worsened,MMP-2expression levels were significantly increased(P<0.05);After 3 d/5 d of the surgery,compared with the CF3-CH2-O-CHF-CF3 group,Morris water maze test result of CF3-CH(OCH2F)-CF3group was significantly worsened,MMP-2 expression levels were significantly increased(P<0.05).Conclusions:Anesthesia can cause some injury on cognitive status,different anesthetic drugs may cause different injury,and the cognitive status injury is related to the MMP-2 expression.

Immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs) targeting cytotoxic T-lymphocyte antigen 4 and programmed cell death protein 1 receptor/ligand have revolutionized cancer treatment, achieving unprecedented efficacy in numerous malignancies. Despite the excellent therapeutic effects of ICIs, medications, such as pembrolizumab, ipilimumab, nivolumab, atezolizumab, avelumab, and durvalumab, typically cause a broad spectrum of toxicity events termed as immune-related adverse events(ir AEs). Out of all ir AEs, ophthalmic adverse events occur infrequently and are not comprehensively recognized. The current understanding of ophthalmic ir AEs is mainly derived from case reports and case series. In this review, based on relevant articles in the literature and current evidence, we summarize the incidences, manifestations, diagnoses, underlying mechanisms, treatments, and outcomes of ophthalmic ir AEs and discuss possible management strategies. A better understanding of these features is critical for managing patients with ICI-associated ophthalmic adverse events.

Although implantation of biomaterials carrying mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)is considered as a promising strategy for ameliorating neural function after spinal cord injury(SCI),there are still some challenges including poor cell survival rate,tumorigenicity and ethics *** performance of the secretome derived from MSCs was more stable,and its clinical transformation was more *** antibody array demonstrated that the secretome of MSCs contained 79 proteins among the 174 proteins ***-dimensional(3D)printed collagen/silk fibroin scaffolds carrying MSCs secretome improved hindlimb locomotor function according to the Basso–Beattie–Bresnahan scores,the inclined-grid climbing test and electrophysiological *** with locomotor function recovery,3D printed collagen/silk fibroin scaffolds carrying MSCs secretome could further facilitate nerve fiber regeneration,enhance remyelination and accelerate the establishment of synaptic connections at the injury site compared to 3D printed collagen/silk fibroin scaffolds alone group according to magnetic resonance imaging,diffusion tensor imaging,hematoxylin and eosin staining,Bielschowsky’s silver staining,immunofluorescence staining and transmission electron *** results indicated the implantation of 3D printed collagen/silk fibroin scaffolds carrying MSCs secretome might be a potential treatment for SCI.

Objectives To evaluate the plasma atherosclerotic biomarkers in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus （T2DM） and arteriosclerosis obliteran （ASO） when treated with Probucol plus Cilostazol in combination and individually. Methods In this open-label study, patients aged 40-75 years were randomized to receive conventional therapy alone, or with Cilostazol 100 mg bid, or with Probucol 250 mg bid, or with both in combination. Endpoints included changes in plasma biomarker and safety at 12 weeks. Results Of the 200 randomized pati- ents, 165 for per-protocol and 160 for the safety （QTc intervals） were set, respectively. Probucol significantly reduced total cholesterol （P 〈 0.001）, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol （LDL-C）, （P = 0.01）, and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol （HDL-C）（P 〈 0.001） compared with conventional therapy. Cilostazol was effective in increasing HDL-C （P = 0.002） and reducing triglycerides levels （P 〈 0.01） compared with conventional therapy. A trend towards significance was observed for the difference between conventional therapy alone and Probucol plus Cilostazol group for the change in oxidized low-density lipoprotein （Ox-LDL, P = 0.065）. No significant effects on the majority of the remaining biomarkers were found across the treatment groups. Conclusions We have confirmed that Ox-LDL could be a possible plasma atherosclerotic biomarker among the evaluated biomarkers, which reflected the synergetic effect of Cilostazol plus Probucol in patients with T2DM and ASO shown previously in preclinical studies.

Clinical Study on Tuina Therapy for Degenerative Spondylolisthesis of the Lumbar Spine

Objective： There is definite therapeutic effect in tuina treating low back pain. The comparative observation was performed on the two types of tuina manipulation for degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis, in order to explore the best tuina manipulation for lumbar spondylolisthesis. Methods： All of 121 cases with degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis were divided into the experimental group and control group randomly by the visit orders and pathological gradations, 61 cases in the experimental group, including 34 cases of grade Ⅰ and 27 cases of grade Ⅱ, and 60 in the control group, including 34 cases of grade Ⅰ and 26 cases of grade Ⅱ. There was no significant difference in the general materials of the two groups. Based upon the similar tuina therapy applied on the soft tissues in the two groups, micro-regulating manual technique of the spine was applied in the experimental group, and the hip and knee-flexed and pillow method was applied in the control group. The treatment was given 3 sessions a week, with 10 sessions as one course of the treatments. The therapeutic effects were assessed after one course of the treatments. Results： There was significant difference （P〈0.01） in the total effective rate and in the remarkable effective rate and curative rate of the patients with grade Ⅰ between the experimental group and control group, also there was significant difference （P〈0.05） in the total effective rate of the patients with grade Ⅱ. Conclusions： The therapeutic effects by the micro-regulatory manual technique are comparatively better for degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis, and the milder the pathological condition is, the better the therapeutic effects would be.

The secretome secreted by stem cells and bioactive material has emerged as a promising therapeutic choice for traumatic brain injury(TBI).We aimed to determine the effect of 3D-printed collagen/chitosan/secretome derived from human umbilical cord blood mesenchymal stem cells scaffolds(3D-CC-ST)on the injured tissue regeneration process.3D-CC-ST was performed using 3D printing technology at a low temperature(20C),and the physical properties and degeneration rate were *** utilization of low temperature contributed to a higher cytocompatibility of fabricating porous 3D architectures that provide a homogeneous distribution of *** after the establishment of the canine TBI model,3D-CC-ST and 3D-CC(3D-printed collagen/chitosan scaffolds)were implanted into the cavity of *** implantation of scaffolds,neurological examination and motor evoked potential detection were performed to analyze locomotor function *** and immunofluorescence staining were performed to evaluate *** group treated with 3D-CC-ST had good performance of behavior *** 3D-CC-ST significantly reduced the cavity area,facilitated the regeneration of nerve fibers and vessel reconstruction,and promoted endogenous neuronal differentiation and synapse formation after *** implantation of 3D-CC-ST also markedly reduced cell apoptosis and regulated the level of systemic inflammatory factors after TBI.

Diabetes mellitus （DM） is a metabolic syndrome, characterized by long-standing hyperglycemia. The incidence of type 2 diabetes is higher than 90%. Treatment of diabetes by acupuncture existed in ancient times, and as early as in Zhen jiu Jia Yi Jing （A-B Canon of Acupuncture and Moxibustion）, it documented the points selection therapy in treating diabetes. In recent years, according to traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） theory, I treated 35 patients of type 2 diabetes by acupuncture therapy, and now it is reported as follows.

Objective: To compare patient-reported outcomes after implantation of the ZA9003 intraocular lens(IOLs), or the MCX11 ASP IOLs or the spherical IOLs(HQ-201HEP). Methods: Prospective nonrandomized controlled trial was used. A total of 105 patients(210 eyes) were divided into three groups according to the type of IOLs: ZA9003(35 patients, 70 eyes), MCX11 ASP(35 patients, 70 eyes) or HQ-201HEP(35 patients, 70 eyes). The main outcome was scores of Catquest nine-item short-form questionnaire. Additional outcome was best corrected visual acuities, spherical aberration(SA) and total higher-order aberrations(HOAs). Results: The global score was significantly lower in the spherical IOL group than the aspherical IOL group of-020 μm SA(P 0.05). Significant differences were also found in question 2, question 5, question 6 and question 8 between the spherical IOLs and the aspherical IOLs. Conclusion: Implantation of an aspherical IOL could improve vision-related quality of life compared with a spherical IOL. However, there were no statistically significant differences in vision-related quality of life between aspheric IOLs with different negative spherical aberrations.

Mesoporous silica nanoparticles(MSNs) are attracting increasing interest for potential biomedical applications. With tailored mesoporous structure, huge surface area and pore volume,selective surface functionality, as well as morphology control, MSNs exhibit high loading capacity for therapeutic agents and controlled release properties if modified with stimuli-responsive groups, polymers or proteins. In this review article, the applications of MSNs in pharmaceutics to improve drug bioavailability, reduce drug toxicity, and deliver with cellular targetability are summarized. Particularly,the exciting progress in the development of MSNs-based effective delivery systems for poorly soluble drugs, anticancer agents, and therapeutic genes are highlighted.
