China, one of the most populous countries in the world, has suffered the highest number of natural disaster-related deaths from fire. On local scales, the main causes of urban fires are anthropogenic in ***, on regional to national scales, little is known about the indicators of large-scale co-varying urban fire activity in China. Here, we present the China Fire history Atlas(CFHA), which is based on 19 947documentary records and represents fires in urban areas of China over the twentieth century(1901–1994).We found that temperature variability is a key indicator of urban fire activity in China, with warmer temperatures being correlated with more urban fires, and that this fire–temperature relationship is seasonally and regionally explicit. In the early twentieth century, however, the fire–temperature relationship was overruled by war-related fires in large urban areas. We further used the fire–temperature relationship and multiple emissions scenarios to project fire activity across China into the twenty-first century. Our projections show a distinct increase in future urban fire activity and fire-related economic loss. Our findings provide insights into fire–climate relationships in China for densely-populated areas and on policy-relevant time scales and they contribute spatial coverage to efforts to improve global fire models.

BACKGROUND A sclerosing epithelioid fibrosarcoma(SEF)is a rare malignant fibroblastic soft tissue tumor that rarely occurs in intra-abdominal organs.A case of a SEF in the pancreatic head is reported herein,including its clinical manifestations,preoperative imaging features,gross specimen and pathological *** SUMMARY A 33-year-old male patient was admitted to Peking Union Medical college Hospital in December 2023 due to a one-year history of intermittent upper abdominal pain and the discovery of a pancreatic *** patient underwent an enhanced computed tomography scan of the abdomen,which revealed a welldefined,round mass with clear borders and calcifications in the pancreatic *** mass exhibited progressive,uneven mild enhancement,measuring approximately 6.6 cm×6.3 *** patient underwent laparoscopic pylorus-preserving *** pathological examination revealed that the lesion was consistent with a *** the 3-month postoperative follow-up,the patient did not report any short-term complications,and there were no signs of tumor *** SEFs are rare malignant fibrous soft tissue *** rarely develop in the pancreas,and its preoperative diagnosis depends on imaging findings,with confirmation depending on pathological examination and ***,only four cases of pancreatic SEF have been reported in studies written in *** case is the first reported case of a pancreatic SEF by a clinical physician.

Factors Influencing Mode of Delivery: A Case-Control Study

The primary objective of this investigation was to scrutinize the prepregnancy conditions and lifestyles of 2046 women residing in Liuzhou City, with the aim of delineating the determinants of delivery methods. Evidently, the study unearthed substantial correlations between prepregnancy body mass index, educational attainment, exposure to passive smoking, medical history, and other variables with the mode of delivery. Furthermore, a predictive nomogram model was formulated to accurately forecast the likelihood of cesarean section. These discernments equip pertinent authorities with the means to institute targeted screening and supportive measures for women contemplating pregnancy based on these identified factors. Moreover, provision of services such as prepregnancy counseling and clinical risk assessments could be instrumental in curbing the incidence of cesarean section.

Acute Uveitis in Neovascular Glaucoma Patient after a Single Dose of Travoprost

A 38-year-old man with no history of uveitis developed neovascular glaucoma (NVG) due to proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR). He had a history of ocular surgery with placement of glaucoma drainage implants (GDI), ultrasonic phacoemulsification, and intraocular lens implantation in both eyes. The patient had undergone a recent pars plana vitrectomy with complete panretinal photocoagulation (PRP) to clear vitreous hemorrhage in his right eye. To prevent progressive optic nerve damage, travoprost was tentatively administered because of inadequate intraocular pressure (IOP) control following surgery, laser treatment, and topical administration of many other IOP-lowering drugs. The patient experienced severe vision loss associated with acute anterior and intermediate uveitis. We consider it a rare complication due to the NVG patient’s vulnerability following ocular surgery. Given that acute uveitis developed rapidly and required time to resolve, systemic corticosteroid treatment could be considered to accelerate the resolution of inflammation.
