The importance of rural highway maintenance is self-evident, and it is also a basic work of the highway operation department. Selecting an appropriate evaluation method can timely and accurately find the pavement diseases, and improve the timeliness of pavement repair. To improve the accuracy of pavement quality comprehensive evaluation, based on the game theory, the improved extension evaluation method was combined with subjective and objective weight determination methods in this paper, to propose a comprehensive weight determination method with a good operability. The results show that the improved extension evaluation method provides a feasible scheme for rural highway maintenance quality evaluation

In linear engineering projects such as the highway and railway in the northern Yarlu-Tsangpu Grand Canyon of Tibet that cross various geological and geomorphological units,it is necessary to carry out engineering geological zonation in advance because of the complicated and diversified engineering geological conditions *** zonation was based on qualitative approaches with overview of regional physiographic and geological *** an approach is suitable for a broad regional development *** it is not adequate for use in the remediation of the *** this paper,an interaction matrix approach was adopted as in an index of EZI for the semi-quantitative analysis of the data from the Basu-Linzhi section of the Sichuan-Tibet highway in *** zonations and 19 sub-zonations of the section were made and evaluated,in accordance with a qualitative evaluation *** results of the research presented in this paper will provide useful information for future railway design and construction as well as geological hazard prevention.

Accurate classification and prediction of future traffic conditions are essential for developing effective strategies for congestion mitigation on the highway systems. Speed distribution is one of the traffic stream parameters, which has been used to quantify the traffic conditions. Previous studies have shown that multi-modal probability distribution of speeds gives excellent results when simultaneously evaluating congested and free-flow traffic conditions. However, most of these previous analytical studies do not incorporate the influencing factors in characterizing these conditions. This study evaluates the impact of traffic occupancy on the multi-state speed distribution using the Bayesian Dirichlet Process Mixtures of Generalized Linear Models (DPM-GLM). Further, the study estimates the speed cut-point values of traffic states, which separate them into homogeneous groups using Bayesian change-point detection (BCD) technique. The study used 2015 archived one-year traffic data collected on Florida’s Interstate 295 freeway corridor. Information criteria results revealed three traffic states, which were identified as free-flow, transitional flow condition (congestion onset/offset), and the congested condition. The findings of the DPM-GLM indicated that in all estimated states, the traffic speed decreases when traffic occupancy increases. Comparison of the influence of traffic occupancy between traffic states showed that traffic occupancy has more impact on the free-flow and the congested state than on the transitional flow condition. With respect to estimating the threshold speed value, the results of the BCD model revealed promising findings in characterizing levels of traffic congestion.

The Karakoram highway(KKH),a part of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor(CPEC),is a major highway connecting northern Pakistan to *** inventorying and analysis of landslides along KKH are challenging because of poor accessibility,vast study area,limited availability of ground-based datasets,and the complexity of landslide processes in the *** order to preserve life,property,and infrastructure,and to enable the uninterrupted and efficient operation of the KKH,it is essential to strengthen measures for the prevention and control of geological *** the present study,SBASInSAR(Small Baseline Subsets-Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar)was used to process 150 scenes of Sentinel 1-A images in the year 2017 along the Karakoram highway.A total of 762 landslides,including 57 complex landslides,126 rock falls,167 debris slides,and 412 unstable slopes,ranging in size between 0.0017 and 10.63 km2 were ***,this study also gains an inventory of 40 active glacier movements in this *** categorization,displacements characteristics,spatial distribution,and their relationship with various contributing factors have been successfully investigated along the entire KKH using image interpretation and frequency-area *** criteria adopted for landslides categorization is presented in the *** results showed that the 2-D ground deformation derived in Hunza valley echoes well with the general regional landslides *** spatial distribution analysis revealed that there are clumped distributions of landslides in the Gaizi,Tashkurgan,and Khunjerab in China,as well as in Hunza valley,and north of Chilas city in *** results indicated that these landslides mainly occur on south-facing slopes with a slope angle of 20°–45°and elevation relief of 550–2,100 *** development is also related to low vegetation cover and weathering effects in mountain ***,our study provides scientific data

Analysis of Landscape Patterns in the Urban-Rural Integrated Area Based on Moving Window: A Case Study of Sanshui District in Foshan City

The urban-rural integrated area in Sanshui District of Foshan City was selected for research, and the impact of landscape pattern around the No.269 provincial highway was analyzed based on the land-use data in 2014 using the spatial analysis in GIS and the moving window method. The results showed that:(1) within the scope of a 2 km-range buffer zone, with a low degree of heterogeneity, land for construction use and water area were the dominant land-use types, while with a high degree of fragmentation, cultivated land, wooded land, grassland, garden land, land for other farm uses, and land unused were scattered;(2) the 250-m square moving window could well detect the change characteristics of landscape pattern on both sides of the road;(3) the gradient analysis of landscape pattern in urban-rural integrated area, which was conducted with the aid of a 750-m transect on both sides of the road, indicated that there were significant differences between landscape indexes both in the urban-rural integrated area and on both sides of the road;(4) the road that had an obvious cutting and fragmentation impact on the landscape was an important factor leading to the increasing fragmentation and heterogeneity to regional landscapes.

In highway franchise,interest groups mainly include government,consumer and private *** to balance the benefit of different interest groups and find the equilibrium between the social welfare maximization and profit maximization of private enterprises is the key to the success of highway *** to lack of concession legal system,now in China many regions followed a "privatize now,regulate later" approach,which brings more risks to each group and opportunistic behavior in the franchising *** analyzing current situation and the existing problems in Chinese highway franchising,we find that the operation of governments’ power will have a direct effect on the protection of consumers’ interest and the investment confidence of private and foreign *** we draw a conclusion that a formal and operable concession law should be enacted as soon as possible to bring a real competition to the reform of highway ***’s more,the governments should establish a supervision consciousness and clarify the function for each department.

由温度、盐分和车辆交通荷载的耦合作用造成的路基土动力强度的丧失,使翻浆成为山东黄泛区公路的主要病害,其成因与该地区粉土的动力特性密切相关。为了分析这些耦合效应对粉土动力特性的影响,本研究进行了冻融循环试验、动三轴试验和超声波试验,设计了两种粉土(无盐粉土和3%盐粉土)。冻融循环试验和动三轴试验的结果表明,随着冻融循环次数的增加,动剪切强度和动模量降低,但阻尼比增大。另外,与无盐粉土相比,含盐量为3%的粉土的动剪切强度和动模量下降幅度更大,但阻尼比反而增大。在超声波试验中,冻土试件的超声波速度随冻融循环次数的增加而减小。根据超声波试验结果,提出了一种通过现场实测超声波数据来评价粉土损伤的初步模型,这为粉土公路的治理提供了理论依据。

The contemporary traffic safety research comprises little information on quantifying the simultaneous association between drink driving and speeding among fatally injured drivers. Potential correlation between driver＇s drink driving and speeding behavior poses a substantial methodological concern which needs investigation. This study therefore focused on investigating the simultaneous impact of socioeconomic factors, fatalities, vehicle ownership, health services and highway agency road safety policies on enforce- ment levels of speed limit and drink driving laws. The effectiveness of enforcement levels of speed limit and drink driving laws has been investigated through development of bivariate ordered probit model using data extricated from WHO＇s global status report on road safety in 2013. The consistent and intuitive parameter estimates along with statisti- cally significant correlation between response outcomes validates the statistical suprem- acy of bivariate ordered probit model. The results revealed that fatalities per thousand registered vehicles, hospital beds per hundred thousand population and road safety pol- icies are associated with a likely medium or high effectiveness of enforcement levels of speed limit and drink driving laws, respectively. Also, the model encapsulates the effect of several other agency related variables and socio-economic status on the response outcomes. Marginal effects are reported for analyzing the impact of such factors on in- terrnediate categories of response outcomes. The results of this study are expected to provide necessary insights to elemental enforcement programs. Also, marginal effects of explanatory variables may provide useful directions for formulating effective policy countermeasures for overcoming driver＇s speeding and drink driving behavior.
