Peritoneal fluid indocyanine green test for diagnosis of gut leakage in anastomotic leakage rats and colorectal surgery patients

BACKGROUND Application of indocyanine green(ICG)fluorescence has led to new developments in gastrointestinal ***,little is known about the use of ICG for the diagnosis of postoperative gut leakage(GL).In addition,there is a lack of rapid and intuitive methods to definitively diagnose postoperative *** To investigate the effect of ICG in the diagnosis of anastomotic leakage in a surgical rat GL model and evaluate its diagnostic value in colorectal surgery *** Sixteen rats were divided into two groups:GL group(n=8)and sham group(n=8).Approximately 0.5 mL of ICG(2.5 mg/mL)was intravenously injected *** peritoneal fluid was collected for the fluorescence test at 24 and 48 *** patients with rectal cancer who had undergone laparoscopic rectal cancer resection plus enterostomies were injected with 10 mL of ICG(2.5 mg/mL)on postoperative day *** ostomy fluids were collected 24 h after ICG injection to identify the possibility of the ICG excreting from the peripheral veins to the enterostomy *** who had undergone colectomy or rectal cancer resection were enrolled in the diagnostic *** peritoneal fluids from drainage were collected 24 h after ICG *** ICG fluorescence test was conducted using OptoMedic endoscopy along with a near-infrared fluorescent imaging *** The peritoneal fluids from the GL group showed ICG-dependent green fluorescence in contrast to the sham *** samples of ostomy fluids showed green fluorescence,indicating the possibility of ICG excreting from the peripheral veins to the enterostomy stoma in *** peritoneal fluid ICG test exhibited a sensitivity of 100%and a specificity of 83.3%for the diagnosis of *** positive predictive value was 71.4%,while the negative predictive value was 100%.The likelihood ratios were 6.0 for a positive test result and 0 for a negative *** The postoperative ICG test in a drainage tube is a valuable and simple t

Hearing loss has become increasingly prevalent and causes considerable disability,thus gravely burdening the global *** loss of hair cells is a main cause of sensorineural hearing loss,and currently,the only relatively effective clinical treatments are limited to digital hearing equipment like cochlear implants and hearing aids,but these are of limited benefit in *** is therefore urgent to understand the mechanisms of damage repair in order to develop new neuroprotective *** present,how to promote the regeneration of functional hair cells is a key scientific question in the field of hearing ***-ple signaling pathways and transcriptional factors trigger the activation of hair cell progenitors and ensure the maturation of newborn hair cells,and in this article,we first review the principal mechanisms underlying hair cell *** then further discuss therapeutic strategies involving the co-regulation of multiple signaling pathways in order to induce effective functional hair cell regeneration after degeneration,and we summarize current achievements in hair cell ***,we discuss potential future approaches,such as small molecule drugs and gene therapy,which might be applied for regenerating functional hair cells in the clinic.

A Simple Egg Membrane Patch Bridging Method for Repairing Tympanic Membrane Perforation

Objective:To analyze the clinical effect of a simple egg membrane patch bridging method in repairing tympanic membrane ***:A total of 93 tympanic membrane perforation patients admitted to the hospital between September 2022 and October 2023 were selected and divided into two groups according to the random number table *** control group implemented the conventional treatment(n=46 cases),and the patch group adopted the simple egg membrane patch bridging method(n=47 cases).The healing rate of the tympanic membrane,the air-bone gap,the air conduction hearing threshold,the dry ear rate,and the incidence of complications in both groups were compared before and after ***:The healing rate of the tympanic membrane in the patch group was significantly higher than that of the control group(95.75%vs.76.09%),with P0.05),and the hearing indexes of the patch group were significantly lower than those of the control group 3 months after treatment(P<0.05);the dry ear rate in the patch group was significantly higher than that of the control group after treatment(85.11%vs.67.39%),and the total incidence of complications was also significantly lower than that of the control group(6.38%vs.21.74%),with P<***:The simple egg membrane patch bridging method is effective in repairing tympanic membrane perforation,which can effectively improve patients’hearing levels and reduce the occurrence of post-treatment ***,it is worth popularizing and applying in the clinic.

Controlled release of dexamethasone from fibrin sealant for intratympanic administration in inner ear therapy
