Dear Editor,Dengue infections are caused by all four serotypes of dengue virus(DENV1–4).In recent years it has been confirmed that DENV-1 and DENV-2 are co-circulated in guangzhou,Guangdong,China(Lai et al.2015;Luo et al.2017).DENV-2 strains were imported from Thailand and Indonesia(Luo et al.2017;Zhao et al.2014,2016),and had become the second local circulated serotype in guangzhou.

Dear Editor,Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is a novel infectious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2).Compared with previous variants,Omicron strains are more easily transmissible,have a greater ability to evade the human immune response,and are characterized as naturally virulence attenuated.1 During the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic,it became apparent that children were less easily infected than adults.

Association between serum albumin levels and disease severity in adult patients with dengue: A 7-year retrospective cohort study in China's Mainland

We examined the safety and efficacy of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell(hUC-MSC)infusion for immune nonresponder(INR)patients with chronic HIV-1 infection,who represent an unmet medical need even in the era of efficient antiretroviral therapy(ART).Seventy-two INR patients with HIV were enrolled in this phase II randomized,double-blinded,multicenter,placebo-controlled,dose-determination trial(NCT01213186)from May 2013 to March *** were assigned to receive high-dose(1.5 x 106/kg body weight)or low-dose(0.5 x 106/kg body weight)hUC-MSC,or *** clinical and immunological parameters were monitored during the 96-week follow-up *** found that hUC-MSC treatment was safe and *** with baseline,there was a statistical increase in CD4+T counts in the high-dose(P<0.001)and low-dose(P<0.001)groups after 48-week treatment,but no change was observed in the control ***-Meier analysis revealed a higher cumulative probability of achieving an immunological response in the low-dose group compared with the control group(95.8%vs.70.8%,P=0.00A).However,no significant changes in CD4/CD84-T counts and CD4/CD8 ratios were observed among the three *** summary,hUC-MSC treatment is ***,the therapeutic efficacy of hUC-MSC treatment to improve the immune reconstitution in INR patients still needs to be further investigated in a large cohort study.

Background:The extrahepatic manifestations of hepatitis E virus(HEV)infection include hemolytic ***,the clinical characteristics of HEV-induced hemolytic anemia have been only sporadically reported in case reports,and there is a scarcity of relevant systematic *** aim of the current study was to analyze and summarize the clinical characteristics of patients diagnosed with HEV-induced hemolytic ***:This study included 1 patient diagnosed with HEV-induced hemolytic anemia who was admitted to our hospital and 19 additional patients identified through the available ***:Of the 20 patients included in this study,the majorities were from China and India(12 and 6 cases,respectively);furthermore,13 of them were men and 7 were women,with an average age of 35(16–56)*** highest total bilirubin level was 646(452–913)μmol/L,highest alanine aminotransferase level was 1335(708–2798)IU/L,and lowest hemoglobin level was 6.02.0 g/***,10 patients(50.0%,10/20)underwent the glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase(G6PD)activity test,and all of them were diagnosed with G6PD deficiency(100.0%,10/10).Finally,18 patients(90.0%)recovered and 2 died(10.0%)after ***:Most of the patients with HEV-induced hemolytic anemia recovered with *** HEV infection that causes hemolytic anemia is strongly associated with the G6PD status of the patients.
