The detailed dynamics of the CH4+Cl→HCl+CH3 reaction has been investigated by means of the quasiclassical trajectory approach. The properties analyzed can be interpreted in terms of the main topological featUres of the potential energy surface used. on the basis of the theoretical results, two reaction channels are proposed: one is a direct channel and the other is a complex one.

CD3ε of T cell antigen receptor complex (TCR/CD3) plays an important role in the resembling of the complex and activation signaling through its conservative immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motif (ITAM) in the cytoplasmic tail. Previous study showed that a chimera molecule, consisting of the extracellular-transmembrane domain of human CD8α fused to the cytoplasmic domain of CD3ε, induced apoptosis of T lymphocytes, indicating that apoptotic signals were transduced through the CD3ε- ITAM. To elineate involvement of the two tyrosines in apoptotic signaling pathway, cDNAs with mutations at Y170F, Y181F and Y170F/Y181F in CD8-ε-ITAM were made by point mutation and PCR, and then cloned into pcDNA3 eukaryotic expression vectors. Stable expression cell lines were established after transfection of the expression vectors into CD8+- Jurkat T lymphocytes. Stimulation of these cell lines with anti-CD8 monoclonal antibody showed that only the cells with expression of wild type chimera CD8-ε died by apoptosis, but not those cells with expressions of mutated CD8-ε chimera, indicating that the two tyrosines in CD3ε-ITAM were required for the apoptotic signal transduction in T lymphocytes.

A density matrix treatment of the time evolution of the third order polarization response describing the ground state coherence induced by ultrafast pulses is given. The explicit formulas of polarization response for nonresonant and resonant excitation are derived. The results show that the signal can be greatly enhanced in case of resonance. For specification, we discuss the ground- state rotational coherence based on the if irreducible tensor algebra.

Multiply charged ions of Ar and NO were observed in MPI experiment Of NO/Ar with TOF-MS. A delayable pulsed acceleration field wn applied tO investigate the effect of the photoelectrons on the formation of the multiply charged ions. The multiply charged ions were suggested to be produced by photoelectron impact ionization, in the region bentween the extractor grid and the repeller plate, step by step, from neutral species and lower charged ions. The 50-60ns of FWHM of the ion peaks implies that the pulse width of the photoelectrons should be shorter considering the broadening effect during the ionization process.

NH3-CH3OH system was studied by ab initio calculations at the Hartree-Fock level using the 6-31Gbasis set. Equilibrium geometries of both of its ionic (type I and II) and neutral clusters are obtained. Different dissociation channels are evaluated for I and II, respectively. The results suggest that when NH3-CH3OH is vertically ionized,CH3O + NH+ are the dominant products via a proton transfer reaction, and accompanying the dissociation of (NH3-CH3OH)+ver to NH3 + + CH3OH, intracluster charge transfer process takes place in the system.
