Objectives:Due to health issues related to cholesterol and the emphasis on manufacture of low cholesterol food products,the research was undertaken for the extraction of cholesterol from cream powder using supercritical fluid extraction(SCFE)*** and Methods:Face centered composite design(FCCD)was used to design the experiments with three independent variables viz.,extraction temperature(40˚C-75˚C),extraction pressure(100-250 bar)and dynamic time(2.5-3.5 h)taking two responses(cholesterol and fat content).The standardized flow rate and static time were 5 L/min(expanded CO_(2) gas)and 30 min,*** surface methodology was used for optimizing the process ***:It was found that higher operating pressure,low extraction temperature and moderate amount of dynamic time facilitated the removal of *** optimized process conditions of 75˚C,204 bar and 3.5 h dynamic time yielded 39%reduction in cholesterol content and 10.6%reduction in total fat content of the cream ***:Thus,a low cholesterol cream powder was developed with health benefits for people suffering from cardiovascular diseases.

The aim of this paper is to show the concise chemico-physical adsorbent performance of water purification systems utilizing geo-(e.g., allophane, clinoptilolite, and smectite) and bio-polymer materials(e.g.,chitosan or cellulose nanocomposite materials) and to propose an optimal ground-water remediation technique. The performance of geo-materials is evaluated based on the individual sorption and immobilization capacities for various priority substances and pollutants(e.g., lead, zinc, cadmium, copper,arsenic, and others), their availability, and cost-efficient use. A systematic assessment of the sorption potential of geo-materials in comparison to other available sorbents used for the removal of harmful aqueous metal ions is made through a literature review. This paper introduces novel sustainable technologies based on natural and tailored silicate-polymerized substances(geo-materials and geopolymers),and highlights their applicability in the treatment of water and solid matter contaminated by heavy metal ions. The advantages of geo-materials and geopolymers over other commercially available sorbents used for heavy metal ion removal from solution are presented through a literature review. Benefits and current challenges of geo-materials and geopolymers applications in water processing technologies and in environmental remediation are discussed, with recognition of their performance, individual sorption and immobilization capacities, availability, and cost-efficient use. The applications described here comprise:(i) the removal of heavy metal ions from contaminated water using in-situ remediation strategies;(ii) heavy metal ion immobilization through co-precipitation with silicate binders in underground stabilization and waste solidification scenarios; and(iii) a proposal for a new geo-material/geopolymer-based solidification and stabilization technology for efficient, sustainable, and simultaneous treatment of soil/sediment and groundwater at environmental hotspots.

Given consumers’trade-offs between conventional economic and environmental attributes of products,we provide a game-theoretic model to explore the role of GTA strategy in duopoly competition by incorporating two salient features:Two product types—The green product produced by a firm with GTA strategy and the ordinary product produced by a firm without GTA strategy,and two consumer segments,i.e.,the green consumers who are willing to pay for green products and the ordinary consumers who are willing to pay for ordinary *** analysis shows that GTA strategy may either increase or decrease the green firm’s quality *** subtle relationship between the green firm’s quality strategy and GTA strategy not only affects its own equilibrium performances but its rival’*** also find that two consumer segments may be better off in the presence of a lower GTA ***,although the GTA strategy benefits the environment,the GTA investment is not the more the ***,we find that GTA strategy would lead to higher social welfare only when the GTA efficiency is high *** work not only provides an alternative economic explanation why some firms choose to implement GTA strategy and some do not in reality,but gives managerial insights for firms with different GTA strategies as well as policy insights for the social planner.

The investment in green technology in the process of product design and production is viewed asa powerful tool for sustainable development and carbon emission reduction However,the substantial cost and pressure of competition weaken incentives for manufacturers to engage in green *** this paper,we consider two competitive manufacturer-retailer supply chains,where each manufacturer sells partially substitutable products through the exclusive retailer,study green technology investment selection by manufacturers,and examine the efficacy of retailer cost sharing *** analysis shows that a dominant equilibrium strategy for both manufacturers is to invest in green technologies,whether cost sharing is in place or *** sharing the cost of manufac turer green technology investment can avoid firms'preference confliction over the green technology investment and improve social welfare simultaneously when both the cost-sharing rate and the degree of product/channel competition are relatively *** also find that green technology investment by manufacturers does not necessarily curb total carbon emission,and the cost sharing can either strengthen or weaken the carbon emission reduction of green technology investment.

In this work bactericidal study of silver nanoparticles was taken up in combination with two standard antibiotics, ampicillin and gentamycin, for Salmonella Typhi. The antibacterial activities of antibiotics were increased in the presence of AgNPs against test strains. The higher enhancing effect was observed for ampicillin in comparison to gentamicin against test strains. Silver nanoparticles were synthesized elctrolytically using silver wire of 99% purity as anode and carbon rod wrapped with LDPE as cathode. Silver nitrate [of Merck] of 0.01N is used as an electrolyte. Here tea extract is added as capping and mild reducing agent. The polyphenols theaflavins and thearubigins, present in tea perform the role of stabilizing or capping agents due to their bulky and steric nature. A brown coloured colloidal solution of silver nanoparticles is obtained. The as-synthesized silver nanoparticles were characterized using XRD, TEM and UV-Vis spectroscopy.

By constructing the evolutionary game model among the government,enterprises and consumers,the paper analyzes the condition that the profit and loss relationship of the game subjects and their behavior strategies reach the stable state in the green technology innovation system,and uses MATLAB to conduct data simulation *** results show that the government,enterprises and consumers have path-dependent behavior *** larger the government incentive coefficient and subsidy coefficient is not the better,but the larger the subsidy and subsidy coefficient will hinder the green technology *** punitive measures will promote green technology innovation,but high innovation subsidies will restrain the government’s environmental ***,the government should further improve environmental regulation policies,increase enterprises’enthusiasm for green technology innovation and consumers’acceptance of green products,and promote the development of green technology innovation.

To achieve the controllable release of energy of nitrocellulose-based propellants,this paper combines the cellulose-based nanocomposites aqueous coating(Surelease®-NC)with fluidized bed coating equipment to successfully prepare the coated spherical propellant for the first *** effects of fluidized bed coating temperature,air velocity,flow speed and atomization pressure on the adhesion rate,coating integrity and coating uniformity of the coated spherical propellant were investigated,and the preparation of coated spherical propellant with homogeneous size and structural integrity was achieved for the first *** microscopic morphology,chemical structure,water vapor adsorption behavior,combustion performance,and ageing resistance property of the coated spherical propellant were systematically investigated by,Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),Micro confocal raman spectrometer,field scanning electron microscopy(SEM),dynamic vapor adsorption techniques,and closed bomb test,confirming the surface core-shell structure and the tightly bonded interfacial structure of coated spherical ***,the coated spherical propellant has good hygroscopic,excellent progressive burning and long storage stability.

Digital transformation serves as a new driving force and engine for enterprise ***,the national strategy of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality has set new goals and requirements for the green development of the Chinese manufacturing *** the three-dimensional perspective of"strategy-resource-institution,"this paper explores the impact and mechanism of digital transformation on green technology innovation of Chinese manufacturing enterprises and the heterogeneous impact of the institutional logic of ownership *** a sample of 1,016 A-share listed manufacturing companies on the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges from 2011 to 2019 and based on big data text mining and a negative binomial regression model,this study finds that:(1)Digital strategy significantly enhances green technology innovation capability of enterprises;(2)digital resource investment partially mediates the effect of digital strategy on the enhancement of green technology innovation capability;and(3)the ownership structure of enterprises plays a moderating role in the mediating relationship mentioned ***,compared to state-owned enterprises(SOEs),non-state-owned enterprises(NsOEs)show no significant difference in the stages where digital strategy promotes green technology innovation and guides digital resource ***,they demonstrate higher efficiency in transforming digital resource investment into green technology *** robustness test indicates that the significant effect of digital strategy and resource investment on green technology innovation in enterprises remains valid in the medium term,with a continuous enabling *** is no significant difference between SOEs and NsOEs in the medium and long term in promoting green technology innovation through digital ***,introducing keyword text networks to explore the structural impact of digital strategy,this study finds that digital product and manufact

The steel industry is a major source of CO_(2) emissions,and thus,the mitigation of carbon emissions is the most pressing challenge in this *** this paper,international environmental governance in the steel industry is reviewed,and the current state of development of low-carbon technologies is ***,low-carbon pathways for the steel industry at the current time are proposed,emphasizing prevention and treatment ***,the prospects of low-carbon technologies are explored from the perspective of transitioning the energy structure to a“carbon-electricity-hydrogen”***,steel enterprises should adopt hydrogen-rich metallurgical technologies that are compatible with current needs and process flows in the short term,based on the carbon substitution with hydrogen(prevention)and the CCU(CO_(2) capture and utilization)concepts(treatment).Additionally,the capture and utilization of CO_(2) for steelmaking,which can assist in achieving short-term emission reduction targets but is not a long-term solution,is *** conclusion,in the long term,the carbon metallurgical process should be gradually supplanted by a hydrogen-electric synergistic approach,thus transforming the energy structure of existing steelmaking processes and attaining near-zero carbon emission steelmaking technology.
