In 2018, the China National medical Products Administration(NMPA) approved new drug applications (NDAs) of 48 new drugs, which was the highest annual approval rate by the Chinese regulatory agency in the past 20 years. Nine of the 48 new drugs,including fruquintinib, anlotinib, toripalimab and sintilimab, are global new molecular entities (NME) that were developed by Chinese pharmaceutical companies.

The global Development Initiative, proposed by China to promote global sustainable development and international green cooperation, has received positive responses from Latin American countries, with fruitful outcomes in multiple areas. Latin America is expected to become China's important partner for green cooperation, but there are challenges amid the complex international and regional situation. With a consensus of prioritizing development, China and Latin American countries can elevate their green cooperation to a new stage.

Key epidemiological parameters,including the effective reproduction number,,and the instantaneous growth rate,,generated from an ensemble of models,have been informing public health policy throughout the COVID-19 pandemic in the four nations of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland(UK).However,estimation of these quantities became challenging with the scaling down of surveillance systems as part of the transition from the“emergency”to“endemic”phase of the *** office for National Statistics(ONS)COVID-19 Infection Survey(CIS)provided an opportunity to continue estimating these parameters in the absence of other data *** used a penalised spline model fitted to the publicly-available ONS CIS test positivity estimates to produce a smoothed estimate of the prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 positivity over *** resulting fitted curve was used to estimate the“ONS-based”and across the four nations of the *** produced under this model are compared to government-published estimates with particular consideration given to the contribution that this single data stream can offer in the estimation of these *** on the nation and parameter,we found that up to 77%of the variance in the government-published estimates can be explained by the ONS-based estimates,demonstrating the value of this singular data stream to track the epidemic in each of the four *** additionally find that the ONS-based estimates uncover epidemic trends earlier than the corresponding government-published *** work shows that the ONS CIS can be used to generate key COVID-19 epidemiological parameters across the four UK nations,further underlining the enormous value of such population-level studies of *** is not intended as an alternative to ensemble modelling,rather it is intended as a potential solution to the aforementioned challenge faced by public health officials in the UK in early 2022.

Background:Patients with inflammatory bowel diseases frequently require surgery,but immunotherapies used in disease management may increase the risk of post-operative *** investigated frequencies of post-operative complications in patients who received vedolizumab—a gut-selective antibody approved for the treatment of moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease—in clinical-trial and post-marketing ***:This post hoc analysis of safety data from GEMINI 1,GEMINI 2,and long-term safety studies included patients who had had colectomy or bowel surgery/*** from the post-marketing Vedolizumab global Safety Database were also analysed(data cutoff point:19 May 2016).Adverse events relating to post-operative complications were identified using medical Dictionary for Regulatory Activities preferred ***:Of 58 total surgeries in patients included in GEMINI 1 and GEMINI 2,post-operative complications were reported for 3/51 vedolizumab-treated patients(5.9%)and 1/7 placebo-treated patients(14.3%).In the long-term safety study,157/2,243 patients(7%)had colectomy or bowel surgery/resection;of these 157 patients who underwent surgery,11(7%)experienced a post-operative *** time between last pre-operative vedolizumab dose and surgery was 23 days in GEMINI 1,20 days in GEMINI 2,and 39–40 days in the long-termsafety *** the post-marketing setting,based on data covering approximately 46,978 patient-years of vedolizumab exposure,post-operative complications were reported in 19 ***:In clinical trials,complications of colectomy and bowel surgery/resection appeared infrequent,with minimal difference between vedolizumab and *** frequency of post-operative complications in the post-marketing setting appears low.

Prevalence and Correlates of Elevated Blood Pressure in Chinese Children Aged 6-13 Years: a Nationwide School-Based Survey

Objective To estimate the prevalence of elevated blood pressure（EBP） in Chinese children and identify individual and family factors associated with EBP. Methods A nationwide cross-sectional study was conducted in 2010 using stratified cluster sampling. Participants＇ blood pressure was measured, and their parents completed a questionnaire on personal and family characteristics. Prevalence and correlates of EBP were assessed. Results Among a total of 24,333 participants, 20.2% of boys and 16.3% of girls had EBP. The prevalence of EBP increased with the ascending trend of waist circumference, Waist-to-height ratio, and body mass index. The adjusted prevalence ratios（aP Rs） for obese boys and girls were 2.50 and 2.97, respectively. Fewer urban boys（16.2%） had EBP than rural boys（21.7%）. Boys with a family history of hypertension were 12% more likely to have EBP. Children whose mothers received a college education tended to have lower likelihood of EBP; with an aP R was 0.85 among boys and 0.78 among girls. Conclusion EBP is common among obese students and those who have a family history of hypertension. A negative association between mothers＇ education levels and EBP risk in children was found.
