The impact of the Rural Minimum Living Standard Guarantee(Rural Dibao)Program on child nutrition outcomes

The Rural Minimum Living Standard Guarantee(Rural Dibao)is an important unconditional cash transfer program to alleviate poverty in rural *** the importance of children’s nutrition in breaking poverty cycles,little is known about the impact of Rural Dibao on child nutrition *** China Family Panel Studies(CFPS),this paper examines the effects of Rural Dibao on child nutrition outcomes and investigates potential pathways and heterogeneous *** exploit propensity score matching and difference-in-differences techniques to evaluate the effects of the Rural Dibao program on child nutrition *** results suggest that Rural Dibao significantly impacts the nutrition outcomes of children up to 15 years of ***,our results suggest that Rural Dibao improves child height-to-age z-scores by 1.05 standard deviations and lowers the probability of stunting by 11.9 percentage *** analyses suggest that increased protein intake is the main pathway through which Rural Dibao participation contributes to better nutrition *** also find that the effect of the program is more pronounced among girls,children who are non-left-behind or live with highly educated mothers,and those from low-income families and poor *** findings suggest that Rural Dibao participation helps improve child nutrition outcomes through improving diet quality.

Clean air actions （CAAs） in China have been linked to considerable benefits in public ***,whether the beneficial effects of CAAs are equally distributed geographically is *** high-resolution maps of the distributions of major air pollutants (fine particulate matter[PM2.5]and ozone[O3]) and population,we aimed to track spatiotemporal changes in health impacts from,and geographic inequality embedded in,the reduced exposures to PM2.5and O3from 2013 to *** used a method established by the Global Burden of Diseases *** analyzing the changes in loss of life expectancy（LLE） attributable to PM2.5and O3,we calculated the gain of life expectancy （GLE） to quantify the health benefits of the air-quality ***,we assessed the geographic inequality embedded in the GLE using the Gini index （GI）.Based on risk assessments of PM2.5and O3,during the first stage of CAAs（2013 to 2017）,the mean GLE was 1.87 *** of the sum of the GLE was disproportionally distributed in about one quarter of the population exposed （GI 0.44）.During the second stage of CAAs（2017 to 2020）,the mean GLE increased to 3.94 months and geographic inequality decreased （GI 0.18）.According to our assessments,CAAs were enhanced,from the first to second stages,in terms of not only preventing premature mortality but also ameliorating health *** enhancements were related to increased sensitivity to the health effects of air pollution and synergic control of PM2.5and *** findings will contribute to optimizing future CAAs.

TBBPA rather than its main derivatives enhanced growth of endometrial cancer via p53 ubiquitination

Tetrabromobisphenol A(TBBPA)and its derivatives widely exist in various environments and *** the available data indicate that TBBPA exposure is highly associated with the increased incidence of endometrial cancer(EC),the effects of TBBPA and its main derivatives on EC proliferation and the involved crucial mechanism remain *** present study aimed to investigate the effects of TBBPA and its derivatives under environmental concentrations on the proliferation of EC,and the crucial mechanism on the progression of EC caused by bromine fame retardants *** this research,TBBPA and two of the most common TBBPA derivatives including TBBPA bis(2-hydroxyethyl ether)(TBBPABHEE)and TBBPA bis(dibromopropyl ether)(TBBPA-BDBPE)were screened for their capacities in induced EC proliferation and explored the related mechanism by in vitro cell culture model and in vivo mice *** environmental concentrations,TBBPA promoted the proliferation of EC,the main derivatives of TBBPA(TBBPA-BHEE and TBBPA-BDBPE)did not present the similar facilitation *** ubiquitination degradation of p53 was crucial in TBBPA induced EC proliferation,which resulted in the increase of downstream cell cycle and decrease of *** further molecular docking result suggested the high affinity between TBBPA and ubiquitinated *** finding revealed the effects of TBBPA and its derivatives on EC proliferation,thus providing novel insights into the underlying mechanisms of TBBPA-caused EC.

Background: Despite the adverse effects of ambient fine particulate matter (PM_(2.5) ) on type 2 diabetes and the beneficial role of physical activity (PA), the influence of PM_(2.5) on the relationship between PA and type 2 diabetes remains ***: In this prospective study with 71,689 participants, PA was assessed by a questionnaire and was categorized into quartiles for volume and three groups for intensity. Long-term PM_(2.5) exposure was calculated using 1-km resolution satellite-based PM_(2.5) estimates. PM_(2.5) exposure and PA's effect on type 2 diabetes were assessed by cohort-stratified Cox proportional hazards models, individually and in ***: In 488,166 person-years of follow-up, 5487 incident type 2 diabetes cases were observed. The association between PA and type 2 diabetes was modified by PM_(2.5) . Compared with the lowest quartile of PA volume, the highest quartile was associated with reduced type 2 diabetes risk in low PM_(2.5) stratification (≤65.02 μg/m^(3)) other than in high PM_(2.5) stratification (>65.02 μg/m^(3)), with the hazard ratio (HR) of 0.75 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.66-0.85) and 1.10 (95% CI: 0.99-1.22), respectively. Similar results were observed for PA intensity. High PM_(2.5) exposure combined with the highest PA levels increased the risk of type 2 diabetes the most (HR= 1.79, 95% CI: 1.59-2.01 for PA volume;HR = 1.82, 95% CI: 1.64-2.02 for PA intensity).Conclusion: PA could reduce type 2 diabetes risk in low-pollution areas, but high PM_(2.5) exposure may weaken or even reverse the protective effects of PA. Safety and health benefits of PA should be thoroughly assessed for long-term polluted residents.

Long-Term Survival Trend of Gynecological Cancer:A Systematic Review of Population-Based Cancer Registration Data

Maternal Group B Streptococcus Infection Correlates Inversely With Preeclampsia in Pregnant African American Women

Objective:To determine whether an association exists between group B Streptococcus(GBS)colonization and preeclampsia among pregnant Black ***:This retrospective cross-sectional study involved Black women who gave birth at state university of New York Downstate Hospital between January 2010 and December *** were collected from the Obstetric Department,including delivery date,time,mode of delivery,age of the mother,weeks of gestation at delivery,and antepartum *** GBS test results were originally determined using the eSwab transport *** was defined based on the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists criteria for the periods 2010–2012 and 2013–*** primary outcome was whether GBS was associated with the outcome of preeclampsia in the population of Black ***,including smoking status,gestational age,parity,body mass index,maternal age,and presence of herpes simplex virus(HSV)and human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)were examined as potential ***-squared test and logistic regression model were used,presenting odds ratios with 95%confidence intervals(P<0.050),analyzed with SAS on Demand for Academics(SAS Institute,Inc.,NY).Results:Among the 8,019 Black women included in this study,GBS-positive women(n=977)had a 53%reduction in the likelihood of being diagnosed with preeclampsia compared to GBS-negative women(adjusted odds ratio,0.47;95%confidence interval,0.32–0.70).We did not find evidence of differences in the distribution of smoking habits(P=0.783)or maternal age(P=0.107)between GBS-positive and GBS-negative ***,the GBS-positive women tended to be less likely to have a preterm delivery(9.62%(94/977)vs.24.24%(1707/7042),P<0.001),less likely to be nulliparous(33.37%(326/977)vs.37.87%(2667/7042),P=0.006),and less likely to be obese(51.38%(502/977)vs.55.30%(3894/7042),P<0.001)compared with GBS-negative *** contrast,GBS-positive women were more likely to have a comorbid infecti

Dietary intake and serum levels of copper and zinc and risk of hepatocellular carcinoma:A matched case-control study
