The emergence of adapted variants of the SARS-CoV-2 virus has led to a surge in breakthrough infections worldwide.A recent analysis of immune responses in people who received inactivated vaccines has revealed that individuals with no prior infection have limited resistance to Omicron and its sub-lineages,while those with previous infections exhibit a significant amount of neutralizing antibodies and memory B ***,specific T-cell responses remain largely unaffected by the mutations,indicating that T-cell-mediated cellular immunity can still provide ***,the administration of a third dose of vaccine has resulted in a marked increase in the spectrum and duration of neutralizing antibodies and memory B cells in vivo,which has enhanced resistance to emerging variants such as BA.2.75 and *** results highlight the need to consider booster immunization for previously infected individuals and the development of novel vaccination *** rapid spread of adapted variants of the SARS-CoV-2 virus presents a significant challenge to global *** findings from this study underscore the importance of tailoring vaccination strategies based on individual immune backgrounds and the potential need for booster shots to combat emerging *** research and development are crucial to discovering new immunization strategies that will effectively protect public health against the evolving virus.

We evaluated novel Chlamydial vaccines, consisting of major outer membrane protein (MOMP) alone or in combination with polymorphic membrane proteins D (PmpD) and G (PmpG) using a C57BL/6 mouse model. Native MOMP (nMOMP) isolated from C. muridarum elementary bodies (EBs) and recombinant PmpD and PmpG proteins were adjuvanted with Monophosphoryl lipid A (MPLA), with either lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) or the cationic lipid dimethyldioctadecylammonium bromide (DDA). Antibody titers to C. muridarum nMOMP, and EBs were evaluated by ELISA, and T-cell responses were analyzed by intracellular cytokine staining (ICS). Protection from challenge was determined by qPCR. Vaccine immunized mice showed significantly higher antibody titers to nMOMP (P C. muridarum EBs (P C. muridarum EBs and PmpG. ICS analysis showed more robust CD4 + T-cell responses (IFN-γ/IL-2/TNF-a) in the DDA and LNP groups compared to the adjuvant alone group. The DDA + MPLA gave robust Th17 responses in comparison to MPLA and LNP group. Mice immunized with Chlamydia antigens also showed protection from C. muridarum challenge, by reduction in bacterial shedding for all groups (P < 0.003) compared to shedding from the adjuvant control. Both vaccine formulations generated robust immunological responses, and both were protective by reducing bacterial shedding after challenge. This data indicates equal protection can be achieved without the induction of Th17 responses.

A randomized,double-blind,placebo-controlled multicenter trial was conducted in healthy Chinese infants to assess the efficacy and safety of a hexavalent live human-bovine reassortant rotavirus vaccine(HRV)against rotavirus gastroenteritis(RVGE).A total of 6400 participants aged 6-12 weeks were enrolled and randomly assigned to either HRV(n?3200)or placebo(n?3200)*** the subjects received three oral doses of vaccine four weeks *** vaccine efficacy(VE)against RVGE caused by rotavirus serotypes contained in HRV was evaluated from 14 days after three doses of administration up until the end of the second rotavirus *** against severe RVGE,VE against RVGE hospitalization caused by serotypes contained in HRV,and VE against RVGE,severe RVGE,and RVGE hospitalization caused by natural infection of any serotype of rotavirus were also *** adverse events(AEs)were collected for 30 days after each *** AEs(SAEs)and intussusception cases were collected during the entire *** data showed that VE against RVGE caused by serotypes contained in HRV was 69.21%(95%CI:53.31-79.69).VE against severe RVGE and RVGE hospitalization caused by serotypes contained in HRV were 91.36%(95%CI:78.45-96.53)and 89.21%(95%CI:64.51-96.72)*** against RVGE,severe RVGE,and RVGE hospitalization caused by natural infection of any serotype of rotavirus were 62.88%(95%CI:49.11-72.92),85.51%(95%CI:72.74-92.30)and 83.68%(95%CI:61.34-93.11).Incidences of AEs from the first dose to one month post the third dose in HRV and placebo groups were *** was no significant difference in incidences of SAEs in HRV and placebo *** study shows that this hexavalent reassortant rotavirus vaccine is an effective,well-tolerated,and safe vaccine for Chinese infants.

Dear Editor,The emergence of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2(SARS-CoV-2)variants threatens efforts to contain the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)***(B.1.1.529),the fifth novel SARS-CoV-2 variant of concern(VOC),harbors 15 mutations in the receptor-binding domain(RBD)of the spike(S)protein.1 These mutations include almost all the sites of existing VOCs(Alpha/B.1.1.7,Beta/B.1.351,Gamma/P.1,and Delta/B.1.617.2).2–4 Importantly,the key mutations directly interact with the ACE2 receptor and constitute the main target of neutralizing antibodies(NAbs),which is believed to alter the sensitivity to a large number of NAbs.

Pentoxifylline(PTX)is reported to provide beneficial outcomes in the treatment of neonatal sepsis and serious inflammatory conditions.1,2 In the neonatal intensive care setting,PTX is administered by intravenous(IV)infusion and is routinely co-administered via Ysite with other parenteral medications and/or *** the physicochemical compatibility of PTX with a range of parenteral drugs,IV fluids,and lipid-free parenteral nutrition solutions has been reported,there is an emerging demand for more PTX compatibility data against previously untested medications(ampicillin,cloxacillin,fentanyl,fluconazole,furosemide,hydrocortisone,and ibuprofen lysine)and high-concentration IV drugs(alprostadil,dopamine,epinephrine,midazolam,milrinone,morphine,and norepinephrine)which may be used in fluid-restricted,vulnerable patients.3–5 In order to address this requirement for contemporary information,we investigated the physical and chemical compatibility of PTX with a panel of 20 drugs,in 51 PTX-drug combinations.

Detection of pigs epidemic diarrhea virus （PEDV） was conducted on 331 piglets diarrhea fecal samples collected in Nanning, Yulin and other 12 areas of Guangxi Province from January of 2011 to April of 2014 by the method of reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction （RT-PCR）. The results showed that the positive samples of PEDV were 210 and the positive rate was 63.44%. The clone and sequencing of M gene was carried out on 25 positive samples. PEDV reference strains were selected from GeneBank to conduct the sequence homology alignment analysis and the phylogenetic tree of M gene. The M gene homology and amino acid sequence identity between 25 isolated strains and 51 reference strains were 96.0% - 99.6% and 94.3% - 99.6%, respectively. The genetic variation anal- ysis of M gene showed that the genetic relationship of PEDV prevalent strains in Guangxi Province from 2013 to 2014 was close to that of the prevalent strains in Bei- jing, Anhui, Wuhan, Hebei and Guangdong from 2010 to 2013, and which were far from that of the Chinese early isolates CH/S （GenBank number： JN547228 ）, vaccine strain CV777 （GenBank number： AF353511 ） and Attenuated DR13 （GenBank number： JQ023162）. Indicating that the PEDV strains prevalent in Guan- gxi in recent years showed significant variation with the early isolates.
