Influence of induced ciprofloxacin resistance on efflux pump activity of Klebsiella pneumoniae

Objective:The efflux pump(EP) is one of the major mechanisms of antibiotic resistance in Klebsiella ***,there are few reports on the effect of the abuse of antibiotic use on the activity of *** determine whether the use of low efficacy antibiotics has any effect on the activity of EPs and induces drug resistance in ***,we investigated the effect of ciprofloxacin on the activity of EPs in *** ***:Sixteen susceptible *** strains were isolated from patients and their minimum inhibitory concentrations(MICs) of ciprofloxacin were measured in the absence and presence of the pump inhibitor carbonyl cyanide m-chlorophenyl hydrazone(CCCP).The strains were then induced with a gradient of ciprofloxacin until the MICs of the strains showed no further increase,to obtain induced resistant *** EP activities of the strains before and after induction were compared using EP inhibition and ethidium bromide(EtBr) accumulation ***:The MIC values of the strains were 16 256 times higher after induction than before *** the presence of CCCP,the MIC values of 50% of the induced strains were 2 4-fold lower than that in the absence of this *** EtBr accumulation assay showed that the fluorescence of EtBr in the induced cells was lower than that in the cells before ***:EPs are widespread in susceptible and drug-resistant *** *** with ciprofloxacin may increase the activity of EPs in *** EtBr accumulation assay is more sensitive than the EP inhibition assay in evaluating the activity of EPs in ***.

Chlorfenapyr poisoning:mechanisms,clinical presentations,and treatment strategies

Understanding a Single-Li-Ion COF Conductor for Being Dendrite Free in a Li-Organic Battery

Decreased proliferation ability and differentiation potential of mesenchymal stem cells of osteoporosis rat

Objective:To explore decreased proliferation ability and differentiation potential of mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs) of osteoporosis ***:MSCs were obtained from osteoporosis rat,and proliferation potency and impaired osteogenic differentiation potential were ***:The result showed a significant downregulation of MSCs pluripotency related gene(Oct4) and osteogenic genes(BSP,OCN) expression in OVX MSCs compared with Sham MSCs(P<0.05).Conclusions:These data suggest that MSCs are aging in osteoporosis body,and autologous OVX MSCs transplantation is not appropriate to treat osteoporosis if *** will be a possibility in establishing a new clinical application of MSCs autologous transplantation to treat osteoporosis,if OVX MSCs have stronger proliferation and differentiation.

Migration law of respirable dust on a super-long fully mechanized double-shearer working face

In order to understand the migration law of respirable dust and gain reasonable design parameters for dust control on a super-long double-shearer fully mechanized working face, this paper describes research carried out using a numerical simulation package(Fluent) based on gas-solid coupling dispersed multiphase flow model and field measurement to research different technology modes, dust distribution law at different intervals where shearers work in opposite directions on the lower 9303 face, No. 2 Jining Mine,Yankuang Coal Mining Co. Results show that the concentration of dust 3–6 m away from the shearers working in the same directions was large, while the impact area of respirable dust near the shearer increased significantly to 5–6 m with the distance between two shearers working in opposite *** concentration of dust on a double-shearer face was considerably higher than that of a face with one shear under the combined effect of wind speed on the face and disturbed wind around the shearer, while the dust concentration near the shearer on the return side was considerably higher than that on the inlet side. The concentration of dust on a double-shearer face along the airflow declined slowly so that dust was hard to control. Simulation results confirmed the results of field measurement, which could provide reference for dust prevention design.

A sandwich structure composite wound dressing with firmly anchored silver nanoparticles for severe burn wound healing in a porcine model

Wounds may remain open for a few weeks in severe burns,which provide an entry point for pathogens and microorganisms ***,wound dressings with long-term antimicrobial activity are crucial for severe burn wound ***,a sandwich structure composite wound dressing anchored with silver nanoparticles(AgNPs)was developed for severe burn wound *** were in situ synthesized on the fibers of chitosan nonwoven fabric(CSNWF)as the interlayer of wound dressing for sustained release of silver *** firmly anchored AgNPs could prevent its entry into the body,thereby eliminating the toxicity of *** outer layer was a polyurethane membrane,which has a nanoporous structure that could maintain free transmission of water ***/collagen sponge was selected as the inner layer because of its excellent biocompatibility and *** presence of AgNPs in the CSNWF was fully characterized,and the high antibacterial activity of CSNWF/AgNPs was confirmed by against Escherichia coli,Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus *** superior wound healing effect on deep dermal burns of presented composite wound dressing was demonstrated in a porcine *** finding suggested that the prepared AgNPs doped sandwich structure composite wound dressing has great potential application in severe wound care.

Effects of Deformation and Phase Transformation Microstructures on Springback Behavior and Biocompatibility in β-Type Ti-15Mo Alloy

This study examined the mechanical properties, springback behavior from three-point bending loading–unloading tests and biocompatibility from human osteoblast cell adhesion and proliferation experiments in Ti-15Mo alloy with different microstructures. The springback ratio increased after the appearance of deformation microstructures including {332} twins and dislocations, due to the increased bending strength and unchanged Young’s modulus. By contrast, the change in springback ratio was dependent on the competing effect of the simultaneous increase in bending strength and Young’s modulus after phase transformation, namely, the isothermal ω-phase formation. Good cell adhesion and proliferation were observed on the alloy surface, and they were not significantly affected by the deformation twins, dislocations and isothermal ω-*** diversity of deformation and phase transformation microstructures made it possible to control the springback behavior effectively while keeping the biocompatibility of the alloy as an implant rod used for spinal fixation devices.

The efficiency and accuracy of probability diagram, spatial statistic and fractal methods in the identification of shear zone gold mineralization: a case study of the Saqqez gold ore district,NW Iran

In this study,geochemical anomaly separation was carried out with methods based on the distribution model,which includes probability diagram(MPD),fractal(concentration-area technique),and U-statistic *** main objective is to evaluate the efficiency and accuracy of the methods in separation of anomalies on the shear zone gold *** this purpose,samples were taken from the secondary lithogeochemical environment(stream sediment samples)on the gold mineralization in Saqqez,NW of *** of the histograms and diagrams showed that the MPD is capable of identifying two phases of *** fractal method could separate only one phase of change based on the fractal dimension with high concentration areas of the Au *** spatial analysis showed two mixed subpopulations after U=0 and another subpopulation with very high U *** MPD analysis followed spatial analysis,which shows the detail of the *** mineralized zones detected from local geochemical exploration results were used for validating the methods mentioned *** MPD method was able to identify the anomalous areas higher than 90%,whereas the two other methods identified 60%(maximum)of the anomalous *** raw data without any estimation for the concentration was used by the MPD method using aminimum of calculations to determine the threshold ***,the MPD method is more robust than the other *** spatial analysis identified the detail soft hegeological and mineralization events that were affected in the study *** is recommended as the best,and the spatial U-analysis is the next reliable method to be *** fractal method could show more detail of the events and variations in the area with asymmetrical grid net and a higher density of sampling or at the detailed exploration stage.

Neuroendocrine mechanisms of left ventricular dysfunction stimulated by anger stress in rats with atherosclerosis-a putative role of natriuretic peptide

Objective:To investigate the role of natriuretic peptide in the process of left ventricular dysfunction caused by emotional ***:Adult male SD rats(n=30)and Wistar rats(n=60)were selected in this *** models were induced with high-fat diet and excess VD3 injection(eight consecutive weeks),and anger stress models were prepared by residentintruder stress experiment(two consecutive weeks).Furthermore,left ventricular functions were examined by high-resolution echocardiograph,after which left ventricular myocardium and coronary arteries were prepared for pathological section and observed with electron *** the same time,the hypothalamus,medulla oblongata and left ventricular myocardium were also prepared for pathological sections to detect the localization and expression of AMP,BNP and NPK-A with immunofluorescence and western ***:We found that left ventricular functions of atherosclerosis or emotional stress modeled rats were both inferior to the healthy ones and superior to the combined(atherosclerosis and emotional stress)modeled ones(P<0.05).We also found that atherosclerosis and emotional stress could both cause morphological changes of left ventricular cells and capillary which contribute to apoptosis and *** more,there was NPR—A distributed in hypothalamus,medulla oblongata,as well as left ventricular tissues with the same express trend between groups,with atherosclerosis modeled rats the highest and the healthy rats the ***:The results of our study suggest that anger stress could cause an excess consumption of ANP,BNP and NPR-A in nervous and cardiovascular system which inhibit the compensatory self-repair function of atherosclerosis rats,leading to a promotion of fibrosis and lipid peroxidation,offering insight into the neuroendocrine mechanisms of left heart function obstacle.
