Extraction of yarn positional information from three-dimensional CT image of textile fabric using a yarn model for its structure analysis

This paper proposes a novel method for analyzing a textile fabric structure to extract positional information regarding each yarn using three-dimensional X-ray computed tomography(3D CT) image.Positional relationship among the yarns can be reconstructed using the extracted yarn positional information.In this paper,a sequence of points on the center line of each yarn of the sample is defined as the yarn positional information,since the sequence can be regarded as the representative position of the yarn.The sequence is extracted by tracing the yarn.The yarn is traced by estimating the yarn center and direction and correlating the yarn part of the 3D CT image with a 3D yarn model,which is moved along the estimated yarn direction.The trajectory of the center of the yarn model corresponds to the positional information of the yarn.The application of the proposed method is shown by experimentally applying the proposed method to a 3D CT image of a double-layered woven fabric.Furthermore,the experimental results for a plain knitted fabric show that this method can be applied to even knitted fabrics.

Multivariate analysis and natural language processing methods for textual information have become popular research techniques which can deepen understanding on of accumulated text data, such as evaluation reports, and also have possibility to lead new knowledge discovery. In this paper we focus on contents of textual information in evaluation reports of national university Corporation evaluation in Japan. We conducted research on information extracting and text analyzing for grasping global and local features of the evaluation reports. Moreover, we considered stability of the analysis and recognition in case of textual data fluctuation.

Objective:To study the anti-hypertrophic scar effect of the six-herb Chinese medicine composition(SCMC) ointment on the rabbit ear hypertrophic scar models.Methods:The optimal formulation of SCMC ointment matrix was screened by the orthogonal designs and a series of evaluation tests.The SCMC ointment was prepared through emulsifying method.The rabbit ear hypertrophic scar models were established and used to investigate the anti-hypertrophic scar effect of SCMC ointment.Results:Our results demonstrated that all the quality control indications of the SCMC ointment met the requirements.Anti-hypertrophic scar activity results showed that all the rabbit ear scar tissues appeared different degrees of shrink and fading,and took an unobvious but palpable shift from hard to soft texture with the low,middle and high concentration SCMC ointments treatments in vivo.Additionally,on 21 st day the scar area and thickness in different concentrations of SCMC ointment groups were significantly reduced than control group,in a concentration-dependent manner.The immunohistochemical results also indicated that the SCMC ointment had good anti-hypertrophic scar properties and could inhibit hypertrophic scar formation.Conclusion:The SCMC ointment could improve the blood circulation condition of hypertrophic scar tissues.Our research has demonstrated the Chinese medicine composition ointment with good antihypertrophic scar properties that could be used to treat hypertrophic scars.Meanwhile,it provides a theoretical basis for further clinical application.

The Three-Step Workflow:A Pragmatic Approach to Allocating academic Hospitals' Affiliations for Bibliometric Purposes

Purpose:A key question when ranking universities is whether or not to allocate the publication output of affiliated hospitals to universities.This paper presents a method for classifying the varying degrees of interdependency between academic hospitals and universities in the context of the Leiden Ranking.Design/methodology/approach:Hospital nomenclatures vary worldwide to denote some form of collaboration with a university,however they do not correspond to universally standard definitions.Thus,rather than seeking a normative definition of academic hospitals,we propose a three-step workflow that aligns the university-hospital relationship with one of three general models:full integration of the hospital and the medical faculty into a single organization;health science centres in which hospitals and medical faculty remain separate entities albeit within the same governance structure;and structures in which universities and hospitals are separate entities which collaborate with one another.This classification system provides a standard through which publications which mention affiliations with academic hospitals can be better allocated.Findings:In the paper we illustrate how the three-step workflow effectively translates the three above-mentioned models into two types of instrumental relationships for the assignation of publications:"associate"and"component".When a hospital and a medical faculty are fully integrated or when a hospital is part of a health science centre,the relationship is classified as component.When a hospital follows the model of collaboration and support,the relationship is classified as associate.The compilation of data following these standards allows for a more uniform comparison between worldwide educational and re search systems.research limitations:The workflow is resource intensive,depends heavily on the information provided by universities and hospitals,and is more challenging for languages that use nonLatin characters.Further,the application of the workflow demands a careful evaluation
