The impact of industrial distribution on the distribution of pollution:Evidence from China

This study aims to investigate the effect of industrial development strategies on the distribution of pollution in *** this purpose,it uses the Theil index to measure the degree to which pollution was concentrated in particular areas of China from 2003 to *** chart analysis,it shows that industries became more widely spread out over time,and finds water-polluted cities but no air-polluted cities in areas of high industry *** estimates from the Theil indices,I find that,while the within-region and between-region imbalances of industrial output were both reduced by the strategic plan,the speed of water pollution diversion does not align with the overall movement of industries,and there is not much between-region movement in wastewater *** distribution of soot emissions is found to differ significantly from that of industrial output,with negligible initial levels and subsequent changes in the between-region concentration of soot *** of the initial concentration and changes in concentration are within region,suggesting that industrial development strategies have helped spread industries out more ***,the distribution of industries is found to have changed the distribution of water pollution,but it did not have any impact on the concentration of air pollution.

Microplastics(MPs)are widely present in a variety of environmental media and have attracted more and more attention ***,the effect of MPs on the interaction between heavy metals and soil,especially in soil solid fraction level,is not well *** this study,batch experiments were performed to investigate the adsorption characteristics of Cd in bulk soil and three soil solid fractions(*** organo matter(POM),organic-mineral compounds(OMC),and mineral)with or without polypropylene(PP)*** results showed that the addition of PP-MPs reduced the Cd adsorption capacity of the bulk soil in aqueous solution,and the effects varied with PP-MPs dose and aging ***,the responses of the three fractions to PP-MPs were *** presence of PP-MPs,the POM and OMC fractions showed negative adsorption effects,while the mineral fraction showed positive *** the bulk soil,POM and OMC fractions,the adsorption isotherm fitted to the Langmuir model better than the Freundlich model,whereas,the Freundlich isotherm model was more fitted for the mineral *** with the comprehensive analysis of the partitioning coefficients,XRD and FTIR results,it was found that OMC fraction extremely likely play a leading role in the bulk soil adsorption of Cd in this ***,the effect of MPs on adsorption capacity of the bulk soil for Cd may be determined by the proportion of POM,OMC,and mineral fractions in the soil,but further confirmation is needed.

Stochastic switched epidemic systems with a discrete or distributed time delay are constructed and investigated. By the Lyapunov method and lto＇s differential rule, the existence and uniqueness of global positive solution of each system is proved. And stability conditions of the disease-free equilibrium of the systems are obtained. Numerical simulations are presented to illustrate the results.

In the analysis of how environmental regulation affects the comparative advantage of trade,existing literature ignores industry's inherent heterogeneity, which draws remarkably different conclusions. In view of this, the paper analyzed the mechanism of environmental regulation on the export quality of different industries from the perspective of factor input structure heterogeneity. Based on the panel data of China's manufacturing industry, the paper used the system generalized method of moments method to examine the heterogeneity influence of environmental regulation on manufacturing export quality. The study found that, first, environmental regulation affected the export quality upgrade of the manufacturing sector through offset effect and compensation effect, and the direction of the impact would mainly depend on the industry's factor input structure. Second, for industries with larger fixed-asset investment(FAI) ratio in the factor input structure, the current environmental regulation policy was not conducive to the export quality upgrading of the industries. However, there was a significant U-shaped dynamic relationship between them. As environmental regulations became stricter, when regulatory stringency went beyond the inflection point, the policy would promote the upgrading of export quality. But for industries with smaller proportion of FAI, environmental regulation exerted a favorable impact on the export quality upgrade, following a J-shaped marginal growth ***, for industries with different factor input structure, their export quality had been effectively upgraded as expected by factors like human capital investment, independent R&D, technology introduction, and foreign direct investment; but raising per capita capital stock and expanding enterprise size did not produce significant direct impact on export quality upgrade. Generalized case-cohort design has been proved to be a cost-effective way to enhance the efficiency of large epidemiological cohort. In this article, we propose an inference procedure for estimating the unknown parameters in Cox＇s proportional hazards model in generalized case-cohort design and establish an optimal sample size allocation to achieve the maximum power at a given budget. The finite sample performance of the proposed method is evaluated through simulation studies. The proposed method is applied to a real data set from the National Wilm＇s Tumor Study Group.

Unreasonable distribution of regional fiscal revenue may lead to fiscal imbalance,while narrowing the fiscal gap will help to establish a modern fiscal relationship between the central government and local governments with fi nancial coordination and regional *** paper examines the 2016 VAT sharing reform to study the impact of tax sharing on fiscal imbalances,and puts forward a new plan to reconstruct the VAT sharing *** has been found out in the study that the VAT sharing reform has alleviated the vertical fiscal imbalances caused by the reform of“replacing business tax with VAT”to some extent,but has aggravated the horizontal fiscal imbalances and widened the regional fiscal *** deepening of horizontal fiscal imbalances is due to the aggravated differentiation of regional fiscal capacity after the VAT sharing *** adjustment of the principle on which the VAT is levied and the way by which it is shared is conducive to reducing interregional fiscal *** research is of reference to rationalizing the intergovernmental fiscal relationship,which is helpful to further clarify the implications of modern intergovernmental fiscal relationship and promote the construction of a modern fiscal system.

Based on theWorld Health Organization(WHO),Meningitis is a severe infection of the meninges,the membranes covering the brain and spinal *** is a devastating disease and remains a significant public health *** study investigates a bacterial meningitis model through deterministic and stochastic ***-compartment population dynamics explain the concept,particularly the susceptible population,carrier,infected,and *** model predicts the nonnegative equilibrium points and reproduction number,i.e.,the Meningitis-Free Equilibrium(MFE),and Meningitis-Existing Equilibrium(MEE).For the stochastic version of the existing deterministicmodel,the twomethodologies studied are transition probabilities and non-parametric ***,positivity,boundedness,extinction,and disease persistence are studiedrigorouslywiththe helpofwell-known *** and nonstandard techniques such as EulerMaruyama,stochastic Euler,stochastic Runge Kutta,and stochastic nonstandard finite difference in the sense of delay have been presented for computational analysis of the stochastic ***,standard methods fail to restore the biological properties of the model,so the stochastic nonstandard finite difference approximation is offered as an efficient,low-cost,and independent of time step *** addition,the convergence,local,and global stability around the equilibria of the nonstandard computational method is studied by assuming the perturbation effect is *** simulations and comparison of the methods are presented to support the theoretical results and for the best visualization of results.
