pH-responsive micelles with a biodegradable PLA core and a mixed PEG/PDPA shell were prepared by self-assembly of poly（ethylene glycol）-b-poly（lactic acid）（PEG-b-PLA） and poly（2-（diisopropylamino）ethyl methacrylate）-b-poly（lactic acid）（PDPA-b- PLA）. The micellization status with different pH and the enzyme degradation behavior were characterized by IH-NMR spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering measurement and zeta potential test. The pH turning point of PDPA block was determined to be in the range of 5.5-7.0. While the pH was above 7.0, the PDPA block collapsed onto the PLA core and could protect the PLA core from invasion of enzyme, as a result, the micelle exhibited a resistance to the enzymatic degradation.

Characteristics of soil microbial community functional and structure diversity with coverage of Solidago Canadensis L

The relationship between Solidago canadensis L. invasion and soil microbial community diversity including functional and structure diversities was studied across the invasive gradients varying from 0 to 40%, 80%, and 100% coverage of Solidago canadensis L. using sole carbon source utilization profiles analyses, principle component analysis （PCA） and phospholipid fatty acids （PLFA） profiles analyses. The results show the characteristics of soil microbial community functional and structure diversity in invaded soils strongly changed by Solidago canadensis L. invasion. Solidago canadensis L. invasion tended to result in higher substrate richness, and functional diversity. As compared to the native and ecotones, average utilization of specific substrate guilds of soil microbe was the highest in Solidago canadensis L. monoculture. Soil microbial functional diversity in Solidago canadensis L. monoculture was distinctly separated from the native area and the ecotones. Aerobic bacteria, fungi and actinomycetes population significantly increased but anaerobic bacteria decreased in the soil with Solidago canadensis L. monoculture. The ratio of cyl9：0 to 18：1 co7 gradually declined but mono/sat and fung/bact PLFAs increased when Solidago canadensis L. became more dominant. The microbial community composition clearly separated the native soil from the invaded soils by PCA analysis, especially 18： lco7c, 16： lco7t, 16： lco5c and 18：2co6, 9 were present in higher concentrations for exotic soil. In conclusion, Solidago canadensis L. invasion could create better soil conditions by improving soil microbial community structure and functional diversity, which in turn was more conducive to the growth ofSolidago canadensis L.

Oxygen was first discovered by Sweden chemist Scheele in 1773 and convinced as an essential factor for living by French scientists in *** tackle with different hypoxic emergencies,corresponding medical approaches,*** or nasal catheter oxygen inhalation,breathing machine,hyperbaric oxygen therapy etc.,have been contrived in ***,one mortal trouble exists in all these conventional ways,*** must rely on the ventilation and gas exchange via lungs,thus not being able to promptly render oxygen to specific hypoxia *** solution(HOS),a new kind of medical liquid which can be orally taken or intravenously administrated,has been widely applied as an auxiliary method of offering oxygen in China.A large number of experiments have proved its validity in the treatment of myocardial and cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury,nerve lesions,shock,respiratory diseases,neonatal hypoxia and so *** findings suggest that HOS might not only play a role of increasing oxygen pressure in local region,but also conspicuously contribute to improving the pathologic process of hypoxia,which coincidently is the vital link in stress-induced lesions in the gastrointestinal ***,Helicobacter pylori(***),a kind of microaerophilic(anaerobic)bacterium which can hardly survive in an aerobic atmosphere,has also been identified as an independent risk factor for the occurrence and development of *** the etiology of peptic ulceration and the features of HOS,we hypothesize that drinking HOS might prevent gastric ulceration caused by stress or anaerobic ***.

Frailty in People Living with Human Immunodeficiency Virus Aged 50 Years and Older: Prevalence and Predictors

Introduction: Life expectancy improvement for people living with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is coming up against the problems associated with aging and chronic diseases. Frailty is a concern affecting a growing number of patients, particularly the elderly in this population. Our study aimed to determine the prevalence of frailty and its predictors on people living with HIV aged 50 years and older followed at the Outpatient Treatment Clinic (CTA) in Dakar. Methodology: We conducted a cross-sectional study of descriptive and analytic purposes ranging from November 2022 to August 2023, in CTA, Dakar (Senegal). We included people living with HIV aged 50 years and older under antiretroviral therapy for at least 6 months (≥6 months). Frailty was considered according to Fried criteria with a score ≥3. To identify the predictors of frailty, we performed a multivariate logistic regression analysis using STATA software version 18. Results: We included 199 patients. The median age at the moment of the study was 58 years old [50 - 91] with a sex ratio (M/F) of 0.58. The most representative age group was that of [50 - 59] years (59.3%). HIV-1 profile was most common in 89.45%. The median duration under antiretroviral therapy was 180 months [6 - 284] and 94% of patients received a Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate (TDF)-containing regimen with 43% of them for at least 10 years. Viral load was undetectable (≤40 copies/ml) in 98% of cases. WHO Stage III was more common at inclusion and 55.78% had nadir TCD4+ Lymphocyte counts Conclusion: Our study confirms the high prevalence of frailty among older people living with HIV. Its prevention should consider the management of comorbidities and the implementation of non-pharmacological interventions such as nutrition.

Skin depigmentation is a worrying practice that is gaining popularity, particularly among young girls. However, this practice poses health risks. It also reflects a negative view of black skin color. This was a cross-sectional study carried out between April and May 2023 which involved 1039 female students from schools and universities in the Collines department selected by stratified sampling. Data was collected during a face-to-face interview using a questionnaire providing information on the demographic, socio-cultural, and economic characteristics of the girls. The depigmentation products used were identified as well as the complications caused by the use of these products. Statistical analysis made it possible to calculate the frequencies and logistic regression made it possible to identify the factors associated with depigmentation. The prevalence of depigmentation among the girls surveyed was 78.2%. The main products used were soaps based on mercurial derivative and hydroquinone (21.6%) and lotions based on hydroquinone and corticosteroids (75.7%). The factors associated with the practice of depigmentation were the ethnicity of the respondents (OR = 2.52;95% CI = [0.47 - 13.33], p = 0.001);the average monthly income of the parents (OR = 3.26;95% CI = [1.71 - 6.09], p = 0.003);the opinion of the respondents on depigmentation (OR = 2.48;95% CI = [0.84 - 7.3], p < 0.001) and the value given to light skin versus black skin (OR = 3.41;95% CI = [2.32 - 5.01], p < 0.001). In conclusion, the prevalence of depigmentation among the girls surveyed is high. Consequently, reinforced awareness measures and stricter control of bleaching products are imperative to address this high prevalence of the phenomenon.

The synthesis, X-ray crystal structure, thermal properties and electrochemistry of the new complex formulated as {Er（DMSO）7}PW12O40 are reported. The single-crystal X-ray analysis reveals that the crystal crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P21/c with a=11.767（2）, b=14.909（3）, c=34.905（7）A, β=98.97（3）°, Mr=3591.33, V=6049（2）A^3, Dc=3.944g/cm^3, Z=4, GOOF=1.098, F（000）=6340, R=0.0490 and wR=0.1202. Crystal structure analysis indicates that the Er（Ⅲ） is seven-coordinate with a distorted pentagonal bipyramid and combines to the anion [PW12O40]3- via static electric force.

Background: In Vitro Fertilization/Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (IVF/ICSI) represents the final step in the management of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). Our objective was to study the association between PCOS phenotypes and IVF/ICSI results in women admitted to Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgery and Human Reproductive teaching Hospital (CHRACERH). Material and Method: We carried out a cohort study with historical-prospective data collection over a period of seven years (January 2016 to March 2023) at Chracerh. PCOS patients were subdivided into 4 subgroups A, B, C and D. Results: We recruited 128 patients including 64 PCOS patients divided into four phenotypes and 64 non-PCOS patients constituting the control group. Phenotype D without hyperandrogenism had used the lowest dose of gonadotropins, i.e. 1939.7 ± 454.3 IU, and had produced a greater quantity of estradiol on the day ovulation was triggered (6529.8 ± 4324.8 ng/ml). The average number of punctured follicles and mature oocytes were higher in the phenotype D group. Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) occurred mainly in phenotype D (3/35), with an estimated prevalence of 2.3%. The fertilization rate seemed lower in the hyperandrogenic phenotypes A, B, C compared to the group without hyperandrogenism without significant difference (p = 0.461). The biological pregnancy rate and live birth rate were comparable between the different groups. Conclusion: Phenotype D used less dose of gonadotropins. Biological pregnancy and live birth rates were comparable between the different phenotypes.
