Metal–oxide–semiconductor field-effect transistor(MOSFET)faces the major problem of being unable to achieve a subthreshold swing(SS)below 60 mV/*** device dimensions continue to reduce and the demand for high switching ratios for low power consumption increases,the tunnel field-effect transistor(TFET)appears to be a viable device,displaying promising characteristic as an answer to the shortcomings of the traditional *** far,TFET designing has been a task of sacrificing higher ON state current for low subthreshold swing(and vice versa),and a device that displays both while maintaining structural integrity and operational stability lies in the nascent stages of popular *** work presents a comprehensive analysis of a heterojunction plasma doped gate-all-around TFET(HPD-GAA-TFET)by making a comparison between Mg_(2)Si and Si which serve as source *** plasma technique is employed to implement doping in an intrinsic silicon wafer with the help of suitable electrodes.A low-energy bandgap material,*** silicide is incorporated as source material to form a heterojunction between source and silicon-based channel.A rigorous comparison of performance between Si-based GAA-TFET and HPD-GAA-TFET is conducted in terms of electrical,radio frequency(RF),linearity,and distortion *** is observable that HPD-GAA-TFET outperforms conventional Si-based GAA-TFET with an ON-state current(I_(ON)),subthreshold swing(SS),threshold voltage(V_(th)),and current switching ratio being 0.377 mA,12.660 mV/dec,0.214 V,and 2.985×10^(12),***,HPD-GAA-TFET holds faster switching and is more reliable than Si-based ***,HPD-GAA-TFET is suitable for low-power applications.

Metabolic complications of psychotropic medications in psychiatric disorders:Emerging role of de novo lipogenesis and therapeutic consideration

Although significant advances have been made in understanding the pathophysiology of psychiatric disorders(PDs),therapeutic advances have not been very *** psychotropic medications can reduce classical symptoms in patients with PDs,their long-term use has been reported to induce or exaggerate various pre-existing metabolic abnormalities including diabetes,obesity and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).The mechanism(s)underlying these metabolic abnormalities is not clear;however,lipid/fatty acid accumulation due to enhanced de novo lipogenesis(DNL)has been shown to reduce membrane fluidity,increase oxidative stress and inflammation leading to the development of the aforementioned metabolic ***,emerging evidence suggest that DNL dysregulation and fatty acid accumulation could be the major mechanisms associated with the development of obesity,diabetes and NAFLD after long-term treatment with psychotropic medications in patients with *** support of this,several adjunctive drugs comprising of anti-oxidants and antiinflammatory agents,that are used in treating PDs in combination with psychotropic medications,have been shown to reduce insulin resistance and development of *** conclusion,the above evidence suggests that DNL could be a potential pathological factor associated with various metabolic abnormalities,and a new avenue for translational research and therapeutic drug designing in PDs.

Free Oxide Distribution in Poorly and Well Drained Soils Developed on Calcareous Alluvial Deposits

A study on the distribution of free iron and manganese oxides was conducted in soils developed on calcareous alluvial deposits under subhumid climatic conditions, in Western Greece. Soil samples from two well drained soils and from two poorly drained soils, classified as Alfisols, were collected and used in this study. After certification of soil homogeneity the acid ammonium oxalate and dithionite-citrate-bicarbonate methods were used to extract free iron and manganese oxides from the samples. Iron oxides extracted by the dithionite-citrate-bicarbonate method (Fed) were significantly higher than the iron oxides extracted by the ammonium oxalate method (Feo), indicating that a considerable fraction is present in crystalline forms,independent of drainage status. A confirmation of free iron oxides and fine clay was detected. The ratios Feo/Fed and (Fed-Feo)/total Fe (Fet) could not be used to distinguish the well drained soils from the poorly drained soils. Manganese movement in a soluble form is independent of the fine clay.

Polygon clipping is of great importance in computer *** of the popular algorithms to clip a polygon is Cohan–Sutherland Hodgeman algorithm which is based on line ***–Sutherland Hodgeman algorithm clips the polygon against the given rectangular clip window with the help of line clipping ***–Sutherland algorithm requires traversing the polygon in anti clockwise direction(positive orientation).In this work we propose an efficient polygon clipping algorithm against a rectangular clip *** algorithm uses parametric representation of polygon *** the concept of point clipping,we can find required intersection points of edges of polygon with clip window *** suited numerical illustrations are used to explain the proposed polygon clipping *** proposed algorithm is computationally less expensive and comprehensive.

Good nutrition plays a crucial role in maintaining a balanced lifestyle. The beneficial effects of nutrition have been found to counteract nutritional disturbances with the expanded use of nutraceuticals to treat and manage cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and other developmental defects over the last decade. Flavonoids are found abundantly in plant-derived foods such as fruits, vegetables, tea, cocoa, and wine. Fruits and vegetables contain phytochemicals like flavonoids, phenolics, alkaloids, saponins, and terpenoids. Flavonoids can act as anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, anti-microbial(antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral) antioxidant, anti-cancer, and anti-diarrheal agents. Flavonoids are also reported to upregulate apoptotic activity in several cancers such as hepatic, pancreatic, breast, esophageal, and colon. Myricetin is a flavonol which is naturally present in fruits and vegetables and has shown possible nutraceutical value. Myricetin has been portrayed as a potent nutraceutical that may protect against cancer. The focus of the present review is to present an updated account of studies demonstrating the anticancer potential of myricetin and the molecular mechanisms involved therein. A better understanding of the molecular mechanism(s) underlying its anticancer activity would eventually help in its development as a novel anticancer nutraceutical having minimal side effects.

Influence of tool rotation speeds on mechanical and morphological properties of friction stir processed nano hybrid composite of MWCNT-Graphene-AZ31 magnesium

The ever-increasing demand for light weighted hard materials for transportation industries encouraged researchers to develop composites with excellent mechanical properties which can transform it into more economical and *** the metals with carbonaceous nanomaterials are progressively in focus due to their excellent capability to inculcate and tailor the properties of *** the present research,a hybrid nanocomposite of MWCNT-Graphene-AZ31 Mg alloy has been developed by using variable tool rotation speeds with friction stir processing(FSP).Optimized reinforcement ratio of 1.6%*** and 0.3%*** graphene have been used with variable tool rotation speeds,whereas other processing parameters are kept *** developed specimens were investigated using standard testing equipment for evaluating and comparing the mechanical properties on the basis of the microstructure of the processing regions and their morphological analysis,according to the ASTM *** obtained results revealed an improvement of 19.72%in microhardness and 77.5% of compressive strength in comparison with the base metal AZ 31 Magnesium alloy,with a tool rotational speed of *** values of tensile stress and percentage area reduction were recorded as less than that of the base metal matrix,but an increasing trend has been observed in the values of both with the improvement on rotational speeds of the *** effectual strengthening mechanisms are analyzed on the bases of SEM images and observed that discussed and found that grain refinement strengthening is the major contributor to the strength of the nanocomposite.

Objectives:The uses of devices of electromagnetic waves(EMWs)are increasing day by ***,the generation of the waves is *** frequency spectrum of the generation of waves is also *** this manuscript,an analysis of the high frequency EMWs has been made by the electric fields generated due to the exposure of 5th generation(5 G)of mobile ***:Due to the emission of waves from the towers,the electric field is generated around the transmission tower of mobile *** electric fields are computed by the power of the transmission *** electric fields across the biological tissues/cells are also computed when the EMWs penetrate inside the *** electric fields are made across the organs of different depths inside the ***:The induced electric fields inside the organs of the human beings are responsible for the absorption of energy from high frequency *** absorbed amount of energy from high frequency waves may become the cause of harmful effects on the life of organs of human ***:In this manuscript,after analysis of the computed electric fields inside the organs of human beings,it is concluded that the EMWs of 5 G spectrum of mobile phone towers may more harmful for the life of organs as 4th generation(4 G)spectrum of mobile phone *** energy absorption by the 4 G spectrum is lower than 5 G spectrum due to the range of frequency of *** effects on the pancreas,retina,skin,intestine,spleen,stomach and uterus are more than low water content organs like nails,bone,teeth etc.
