Evolution and application of in-seam drilling for gas drainage

The presence of seam gas in the form of methane or carbon dioxide presents a hazard to underground coal mining ***-seam drilling has been undertaken for the past three decades for gas drainage to reduce the risk of gas outburst and lower the concentrations of seam gas in the underground *** drilling practices have reflected the standards of the times and have evolved with the development of technology and equipment and the needs to provide a safe mining environment *** practice was to adapt equipment from other felds,with rotary drilling being the only form of drilling *** form of drainage allowed various levels of gas drainage coverage but with changing emphasis,research and development within the coal industry has created specifc equipment,technology and practices to accurately place in-seam boreholes to provide effcient and effective gas *** into gas content determination established a standard for the process and safe levels for mining operations to *** technology improved from the wire-line,single-shot Eastman survey instruments which was time-dependent on borehole depth to electronic instruments located in the drill string which transmitted accurate survey data to the drilling crew without time *** allowed improved directional control and increased drilling *** drilling technology has now been established as the industry standard to provide effective gas drainage *** was identifed as an additional beneft with directional drilling as it has the ability to provide exploration data from long *** ability of the technology to provide safe and reliable means to investigate the need for inrush protection and water drainage ahead of mining has been *** drilling technology has now been introduced to the Chinese coal industry for gas drainage through a practice of auditing,design,supply,training and ongoing ***

With the advent of the patient-centered health care concept, thoracic surgeons of the modern era are called to minimize at most the overall invasiveness of their performances, while increasing safety and effectiveness as much as possible. This need has driven an outstanding development of minimallyinvasive surgical approaches, which are now the standard to perform a broad spectrum of thoracic operations. A recent and fascinating evolution in this field is represented by the increasing interest toward the use of so-called ＂nonintubated＂ anesthesia protocol, which are expected to provide a further improvement in postsurgical outcomes （1-8）.

Evaluation of the impact of commodity price change on mine plan of underground mining

Fluctuations in commodity prices should influence mining operations to continually update and adjust their mine plans in order to capture additional value under new market conditions. One of the adjustments is the change in production sequencing. This paper seeks to present a method for quantifying the net present value(NPV) that may be directly attributed to the change in commodity prices. The evaluation is conducted across ten copper price scenarios. Discrete event simulation combined with mixed integer programming was used to attain a viable production strategy and to generate optimal mine plans. The analysis indicates that an increase in prices results in an increased in the NPV from$96.57M to $755.65M. In an environment where mining operations must be striving to gain as much value as possible from the rights to exploit a finite resource, it is not appropriate to keep operating under the same mine plan if commodity prices alter during the course of operations.

Two-stage resection for malignant colonic obstructions:The timing of early resection and possible predictive factors

Amino Acids during Perioperative Period

During anesthesia, thermoregulation is impaired and hypothermia will frequently occur in most patients. Hypothermia affects immunologic activity, bleeding tendency and the recovery from anesthesia. Therefore, it may prolong hospital stay, and increase morbidity, e.g. surgical site infections, cardiac events and multiple organ dysfunctions in trauma. External warming is often used to prevent hypothermia. However, infusion of amino acids is also valuable to prevent hypothermia due to their enhanced thermogenic action under anesthesia. During surgery, amino acids administration would maintain the body homeostasis, and counteract the disadvantageous fasting metabolism. Postoperatively, amino acids may be advantageous for the healing of the surgical wound. Thus, appropriate nutritional management, including glucose, during the perioperative period would prevent catabolism, frequently occurring after surgery. Protocols like ERAS (Enhanced Recovery After Surgery) are proposed for quick recovery after surgery. ERAS protocol recommends preoperative carbohydrate and early enteral nutrition, but does not include infusion of amino acids during the perioperative period. During prolonged surgery, patients clearly need good nutritional support. In this article, we intend to describe the problems of hypothermia briefly, and explain the mechanism of amino acids in hypothermia prevention. In addition, we address some evidences of nutritional management during the perioperative period.

顾客多渠道之间选择购买,分散了传统零售渠道的客流,降低了零售商的影响力。这两类冲突会降低零售商的销售热情,影响分渠道销售能力,甚至可能引起恶性竞争。文章基于消费者效用理论,探讨零售商努力行为能否引导消费者提前购买商品和缓解渠道冲突。通过不存在零售商努力和存在零售商努力情形下的研究表明：在战略顾客下跨渠道供应链中,零售商采取努力行为,不仅能使战略顾客提前购买,且能使制造商和零售商获得更好的收益。由此以制造商为主导的跨渠道供应链应关注实体店的努力行为以缓解渠道冲突并实现制造商与零售商的互利共赢。
