Background Necrotizing enterocolitis(NEC)is the most common severe gastrointestinal emergency in *** designed this study to identify the pathogenic microorganisms of NEC in the microbiota of the small intestine of *** Using the 16S ribosomal DNA(rDNA)sequencing method,we compared and analyzed the structure and diversity of microbiotas in the intestinal feces of different groups of neonates:patients undergoing jejunostomy to treat NEC(NP group),neonates undergoing jejunostomy to treat other conditions(NN group),and neonates with NEC undergoing conservative treatment(NC group).We took intestinal feces and saliva samples from patients at different time *** The beta diversities of the NP,NN,and NC groups were all *** comparing the beta diversities between different time points in the NP group,we found similar beta diversities at time points El to E3 but significant differences between the E2-E3 and E4 time points:the abundances of Klebsiella and Enterococcus(Proteobacteria)were higher at the E1-E3 time points;the abundance of Escherichia-Shigella(Proteobacteria)increased at the E2 time point,and the abundance of Klebsiella decreased significantly,whereas that of Streptococcus increased significantly at the E4 time *** Our results suggest that the pathological changes of intestinal necrosis in the small intestine of infants with NEC are not directly caused by excessive proliferation of pathogenic bacteria in the small *** sources of microbiota in the small intestine of neonates,especially in premature infants,may be affected by multiple factors.

Introduction:Alzheimer 's disease(AD) is a common neurodegenerative disorder and the primary cause of dementia. Considerable evidence supports the “amyloid hypothesis,” stating that the pathogenesis of AD is primarily caused by the deposition of amyloid-β(Aβ), which drives tau phosphorylation, neuroinflammation, and neurodegeneration in the brain. The amyloid hypothesis is strengthened by the significant and moderate benefit of lecanemab, a humanized antibody through an anti-amyloid mechanism,showing slowed clinical decline(van Dyck et al.,2023). The recent positive results of anti-amyloid trials have brought back focus on the amyloid hypothesis through biochemical, genetic, and pharmacological approaches(Zhang, 2023).

Increasing evidence indicates that a healthy diet plays a protective role against ischemic stroke injury. As an antioxidant food， grape powder has been shown to have a neuroprotective function after ischemic injury. In the current research， we aimed to determine whether regular grape powder (GP) feeding before brain damage plays a protective role against ischemic damage and its potential mechanism. Mice had grape powder in drinking water for 4 weeks. Then， fecal samples were collected for 16S RNA analysis and metabolite profiling. Ischemic stroke was triggered using GP prefeed mice by MCAo (middle cerebral artery occlusion) to compare the stroke-induced infarction size to the drinking water (DW) group. The data showed that 4 weeks of GP pretreatment significantly decreased the ischemic infarct size. Meanwhile， GP treatment altered the gut microbiota by enriching the population of Lachnospiraceae and enhancing a gut metabolite called fiestin， which belongs to the flavonoid group. Mechanistically， we demonstrated that fiestin could inhibit LPS-induced proinflammatory macrophage polarization in vitro. We also showed that regular grape power feed could decrease stroke-induced neuroinflammation in vivo. In conclusion， our study demonstrated that 4 weeks of GP feeding attenuates experimental ischemic stroke via the gut-brain-immune axis.

Background: Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) can profoundly affect the mental health of the people living with HIV (PLWH), with higher rates of anxiety, depression, and sleep disturbances. The disparities in neuropsychological problems evaluated by physicians and self-assessed by patients are still ***: A total of 5000 PLWH and 500 physicians from 167 hospitals were enrolled in this cross-sectional study from September 2022 to February 2023. 4-Item Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-4) was used for the evaluation of depressive issues and anxiety issues by PLWH. Each physician assessed 10 PLWH under their care for the presence of depressive or anxiety issues. The primary outcomes of this study are the concordance rates on the depressive issues and anxiety issues evaluation between physicians and PLWH. The Cohen’s kappa test was used to assess the agreement between physicians and ***: The concordance rate for the evaluation of depressive issues is 73.84% (95% confidence interval [CI]: 72.60-75.04%), and it is significantly different from the expected rate of 80% (P <0.001). Similarly, the concordance rate for the evaluation of anxiety issues is 71.74% (95% CI: 70.47-72.97%), which is significantly different from the expected rate of 80% as per the null hypothesis (P <0.001). The overestimation rate by physicians on depressive issues is 12.20% (95% CI: 11.32-13.14%), and for anxiety issues is 12.76% (95% CI: 11.86-13.71%). The mismatch rate for depressive issues is 26.16% (95% CI: 24.96-27.40%), and for anxiety issues is 28.26% (95% CI: 27.02-29.53%). The underestimation rate by physicians on depressive issues is 13.96% (95% CI: 13.03-14.95%), and for anxiety issues is 15.50% (95% CI: 14.52-16.53%). Traumatic axonal lesions disrupt the connections between neurons and their targets, leading to loss of motoric and sensory functions. Although lesioned peripheral nerves can principally regenerate, the rate of recovery depends on the mode and severity of the respective injury （Grinsell and Keating, 2014）. While injuries close to the innervation site have good chances of recovery, long distance regeneration is particularly problematic due to relatively slow axonal growth rates, which even under favorable conditions do not normally exceed 1-2 mm per day （Sunderland, 1947）.
