social security is an important social and public policy measure to help address poverty in any contemporary *** Comprehensive social Security Assistance(CSSA)system in Hong Kong provides a safety net for those aged children and adults below 65 years old who cannot support themselves *** is designed to bring their income up to a prescribed level to meet their basic *** rapid increase in social welfare expenditure in the last decade has become a concern to the Hong Kong SAR *** overall social welfare expenditure has accounted for nearly 15.6%of government expenditure in 2018,with the total amount increasing from$58 billion to$90 billion(an increase of 72.4%)for the period ***,the amount spent on CSSA only increased from$20.7 billion to$22.3 billion with an increase of 7.7%only for the same *** much slower magnitude of increase is related to the reduction in the number of CSSA recipients,which decreased from 237,501 to 185,528 over the period.A decomposition method was used to assess the changes in the number of people in the CSSA *** showed that the rate of arriving into the system has been decreasing due to a robust economy with a very low unemployment rate;whereas moving out of the system has also been decreasing in the past 5 *** phenomenon can be partly attributed to the widening of the income gap in the community in the *** the increase in population size,as long as employment conditions remain strong and the momentum of leaving the system can be maintained,the number of CSSA recipients will continue to ***,the results also suggested that a certain proportion of CSSA recipients will not be able to move out of the system and have been *** innovative methods to help them out of CSSA are *** view of the poor economic outlook arising from the COVID-19 pandemic,it is important for the Government to have effective measures to keep people in their *** the

Evidence of the impact of ambient temperatures on emergency ambulance calls (EACs) in developing countries contributes to the improvement and complete understanding of the acute health effects of temperatures. This study aimed to examine the impacts and burden of heat on EACs in China, quantify the contributions of regional modifiers, and identify the vulnerable populations. A semi-parametric generalized additive model with a Poisson distribution was used to analyze the city-specific impacts of the daily maximum temperature (Tmax) on EACs in June–August in 2014–2017. Stratified analyses by sex and age were performed to identify the vulnerable sub-populations. Meta-analysis was undertaken to illustrate the pooled associations. Further subgroup analysis, stratified by climate, latitude, and per capita disposable income (PCDI), and meta-regression analysis were conducted to explore the regional heterogeneity and quantify the contributions of possible modifiers. The city- and region-specific attributable fractions of EACs attributable to heat were calculated. Strong associations were observed between the daily Tmax and total EACs in all cities. A total of 11.7% (95% confidence interval (CI): 11.2%–12.3%) of EACs were attributed to high temperatures in ten Chinese cities, and the central region with a low level of PCDI had the highest attributable fraction of 17.8% (95% CI: 17.2%–18.4%). People living in the central region with lower PCDI, and those aged 18–44 and 0–6 years were more vulnerable to heat than the others. The combined effects of PCDI, temperature, and latitude contributed 88.6% of the regional heterogeneity. The results complemented the understanding of the burden of EACs attributable to heat in developing countries and the quantitative contribution of regional modifiers.

Cardiopulmonary complications are major drivers of mortality caused by the SARS-CoV-2 ***-18,an inflammasomeinduced cytokine,has emerged as a novel mediator of cardiopulmonary pathologies but its regulation via SARS-CoV-2 signaling remains *** on a screening panel,IL-18 was identified amongst 19 cytokines to stratify mortality and hospitalization burden in patients hospitalized with *** clinical data,administration of SARS-CoV-2 Spike 1(S1)glycoprotein or receptor-binding domain(RBD)proteins into human angiotensin-converting enzyme 2(hACE2)transgenic mice induced cardiac fibrosis and dysfunction associated with higher NF-κB phosphorylation(pNF-κB)and cardiopulmonary-derived IL-18 and NLRP3 ***-18 inhibition via IL-18BP resulted in decreased cardiac pNF-κB and improved cardiac fibrosis and dysfunction in S1-or RBD-exposed hACE2 *** in vivo and in vitro work,both S1 and RBD proteins induced NLRP3 inflammasome and IL-18 expression by inhibiting mitophagy and increasing mitochondrial reactive oxygenation *** mitophagy prevented Spike protein-mediated IL-18 ***,IL-18 inhibition reduced Spike protein-mediated pNF-κB and EC ***,the link between reduced mitophagy and inflammasome activation represents a novel mechanism during COVID-19 pathogenesis and suggests IL-18 and mitophagy as potential therapeutic targets.

Cosmopolitans,statists and liberal nationalists disagree over the relevance of regulating substantive inequalities at the global *** paper aims to resolve the dispute among these three schools of thought.I show firstly that cosmopolitans,statists,and liberal nationalists all aim to motivate people to give in support of distributive justice at the global ***,cosmopolitans lack a substantive theory of how to develop sufficient motivation to give ***,the statists’account of the motivation to give is deficient because it fails to recognise the motivational force of a common national identity among ***,Miller’s account is more plausible than the statists’but fails to facilitate a dynamic process whereby people’s national identities could be extended to the global level in order to support the cosmopolitan *** needs to be supplemented by the statists’understanding of democratic process—one which incorporates the principles of Habermas’s communicative action as a mechanism for developing social solidarity among people.I endorse an account that recognises the motivational force of national identity and the possibility of extending it beyond nation state through democratic participation at the global level.

Cause-related marketing(CRM),as an organic combination of marketing and corporate social responsibility(CSR),has been widely used in the supply ***,the existing literature rarely studies the CRM strategy the in the supply *** paper explores the pricing decisions and CRM strategy of supply chain members by examining a supply chain system consisting of a manufacturer and a retailer,where the manufacturer produces two quality differentiated *** developing a Stackelberg model for three scenarios,including the No CRM strategy,CRM strategy for the high-quality product,and CRM strategy for the low-quality product,this paper finds that the CRM strategy will result in higher wholesale and sales prices for the cause-related *** addition,consumers’pro-sociality and the degree of product quality differentiation are critical to the manufacturer’s choice of CRM *** the quality difference differs significantly,the manufacturer should implement CRM for the high-quality product in a market with low consumer pro-sociality and for the low-quality product in a market with high consumer pro-sociality;when the product quality difference is slight,the manufacturer should choose to implement CRM for the low-quality product regardless of consumer’s ***,the model is extended to that the retailer implements the CRM strategy and a retailer-led supply *** results indicate that CRM strategy in the supply chain is not influenced by the implementing entity or the supply chain leader.

In dense crowd evacuation,especially in emergencies such as fires,the safe evacuation of large public facilities will face major *** the same time,as cluster congestion tends to occur in the space where the flow rate drops sharply,the superposition of fire incidents and bottleneck areas can easily evolve into malignant disasters and crowd stampedes with serious harm and *** this paper,Massmotion based on social force model is used to carry out a numerical simulation on exit position and corner exit form to find out the mechanism and influence law of the slight architectural adjustment on the flow at *** results show that the traditional middle exit design is not the best,and the evacuation efficiency of the corner exit is higher than that of the middle *** with other corner exits,the average time interval between two adjacent persons passing through the bottleneck under the 30°corner exit is the shortest,and the probability of outlet clogging drops the fastest,exceeding 18%of the slowest descending *** the 0°corner exit,the waiting time cost of pedestrians is high and the risk of evacuation is *** outcomes of this work can provide reference for the structural design of the building and the safe evacuation of personnel,so as to improve the evacuation efficiency and safety of pedestrians in the building to some extent.

目的评估咏春黐手训练对社区中老年人的上肢关节本体感觉和肌肉性能表现的影响。方法将33名成年人随机分配至干预组或对照组。干预组每周接受两次咏春黐手训练,为期3个月。在训练期之前和之后进行测试。主要测量结果为通过使用肘关节被动定位和主动再定位测试及测角仪进行测量,测量肘关节再定位的误差值。次要测量结果为上肢肌力最大值和达到肌力最大值所需的时间(通过手持式测力计测量)。结果关于肘关节再定位误差值或上肢肌力最大值,未发现不同时间、组间、组间和时间交互作用上有显著差异。干预组从训练前到训练后,肩屈肌群达到最大肌力的时间缩短了33.8%(P=0.007)。干预组的肩外展肌群,内外旋转肌群和肘伸肌群达到最大肌力的时间缩短了30.0%～35.9%(P<0.05),而对照组则缩短了30.4%～37.1%(P<0.05)。结论咏春黐手训练不能增加中老年人的肘关节本体感觉或上肢肌力最大值。但咏春黐手训练可以缩短中老年人肩屈肌群达到最大肌力的时间。咏春黐手训练对其他肩部肌肉群和肘伸肌群达到最大力量所需的时间没有更明显的影响。

Due to the rigorous fiscal terms and huge potential risk of risk service contracts,optimizing oil production paths is one of the main challenges in designing oilfield development *** this paper,an oil production path optimization model is developed to maximize economic benefits within constraints of technology factors and oil *** analysis describes the effects of risk service contract terms on parameters of inputs and outputs and quantifies the relationships between production and production time,revenues,investment and *** oil service development and production project is illustrated in which the optimal production path under its own geological conditions and contract terms is *** influences of oil price,service fees per barrel and operating costs on the optimal production have been examined by sensitivity *** results show that the oil price has the largest impact on the optimal production,which is negatively related to oil price and positively related to service fees per barrel and operating costs.

Purpose:Thepurpose of this article is toanalyzeboth teaching-research officers'(TROs)role perceptions and work engagement,figuring out how their competing roles are balanced to ensure continued work engagement and which roles havegreater benefits to the community and educational ***/Approach/Methods:The study employs a questionnaire,which is composed of an inventory of work role requirements and the Utrecht work Engagement Scale,to investigate TROs'role perception,work engagement,and their ***:TROs'work experience had a complicated relationship with their work *** two strands of the TROs'role orientation co-existed within their daily work and strengthened each other through exerting effects on the dedication and absorption aspects of work ***,TROs concerned with teacher development displayed higher work engagement than those who put a greater emphasis on policy ***/Value:The study contributes to current research in three ***,it bridges the macro-level trend of education reform with micro-level role internalization of ***,it broadens our understanding of work engagement by linking it with the subjective perceptions of one's work ***,this Chinese case is expected to enrich international perspectives on teacher leaders in the context of top-down districtwide instructional reform.
