Tunable Second Harmonic Generation with High Conversion Efficiency in Periodically Poled Lithium Niobate Channel Waveguide

The paper has analyzed the main factors for the students’ comprehensive ability acquisition concerning the cultivation mode of students majoring in network engineering in the newly established university for the undergraduates.It has also introduced a structure of a fully-open network engineering laboratory.Based on its features and main factors of students’ ability acquisition,typical cases study has indicated the way to improve the classroom teaching method and has analyzed the basic practical teaching system of a fully-open network engineering laboratory in terms of how to make the good use of and intensify the new features of the practical teaching system.

The experiment on quasi-phase-matched second harmonic generation (SHG) in a channel waveguide was reported. The waveguide was made by annealed proton exchange in the periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) with the period of PPLN of 14.9 μm, which was designed for cascading wavelength conversion in dense wavelength division multiplexer optical communications. The measurement results of SHG conversion efficiency as a function of fundamental wavelength at room temperature fit well to sinc^2 shape. The peak of SHG conversion efficiency was 75%·W~ -1 ·cm~ -2 as well as reported. The relationship between the center fundamental wavelength and temperature shows that SHG can be effectively tuned by the temperature in PPLN waveguide.

Although Optical character recognition(OCR) technology has achieved huge progress in recent years, character misrecognition is inevitable. In order to realize high fidelity content of document digitalization,we propose a new Convolutional neural networks(CNN)based confidence estimation method. We detect the misrecognized characters through comparing the confidence value with a preset threshold, so as to leave the recognition errors as embedded images in the output digital documents. We adopted sofmax as the estimation of posteriori probability,overlap pooling and maxout with dropout technologies in CNN architecture design. Experimental results show that our method has achieved an explicit improvement compared to baseline system.

A realistic model of neural networks was proposed in this paper.The dynamicprocess of neural impulse discharging was considered.The equations of the model correspondto postsynaptic potentials,receptor potentials,initial segment graded potentials and the impulsetrain along the axon respectively.To solve the equations numerically,a recurrent algorithm and itscorresponding flow chart was also developed.The simulation results can imitate adaptation,post-excitation inhibition,and phase locking of sensory receptors;they can also imitate the transientresponses of lateral inhibitory network and Mach band phenomenon when they trended to besteady.The simulation results also showed that the lateral inhibitory network was sensitive tomoving objects.

In this paper we focus on the target capturing problem for a swarm of agents modelled as double integrators in any finite space dimension.Each agent knows the relative position of the target and has only an estimation of its velocity and acceleration.Given that the estimation errors are bounded by some known values,it is possible to design a control law that ensures that agents enter a user-defined ellipsoidal ring around the moving target.Agents know the relative position of the other members whose distance is smaller than a common detection radius.Finally,in the case of no uncertainty about target data and homogeneous agents,we show how the swarm can reach a static configuration around the moving target.Some simulations are reported to show the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.

A novel infrared and radar synergistic tracking algorithm, which is based on the idea of closed loop control, and target’s motion model identification and particle filter approach, was put forward. In order to improve the observability and filtering divergence of infrared search and tracking, the unscented Kalman filter algorithm that has stronger ability of non-linear approximation was adopted. The polynomial and least square method based on radar and IRST measurements to identify the parameters of the model was proposed, and a “pseudo sensor” was suggested to estimate the target position according to the identified model even if the radar is turned off. At last, the average Kullback-Leibler discrimination distance based on particle filter was used to measure the tracking performance, based on tracking performance and fuzzy stochastic decision, the idea of closed loop was used to retrieve the module parameter of “pseudo sensor”. The experimental result indicates that the algorithm can not only limit the radar activity effectively but also keep the tracking accuracy of active/passive system well.

The classical Dempster's combination rule is the most popular rule of combinations,but it is a poor solution for the management of the evidence conflict at the normalization step.When deal with high conflict information it can even involve counter-intuitive results.Based on evidence distance,some inherent characters of evidences are extracted,and discount method to combine conflicting evidence was proposed.The discount method can be also used to fuse image sequences to recognize targets.Examples show that the proposed method can provide reasonable results with good convergence efficiency.

A mathematical model for analysing transient process of AC silent discharge isestablished from its physical model.Then,the breakdown characteristics and the dependence ofdischarge current density on time are calculated theoretically in this kind of AC silent discharge.They are compared with the experimental results and the deviation between the theoretical andexperimental results are discussed briefly.

People consume tea brewed from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant for about 50 centuries. Health benefits of the tea have been investigated for about three decades. Especially green tea shows antitoxic and lots of properties with its determined ingredients. Turkey is not only the one of the best consumer and but also good producer of the tea as being 5 th producer all over the world. It grows eastern region of the Turkey and high quality tea is imported and exported. To have quality tea, grooving soils are also crucial. In the current research, Tea leaves and their own grown soils were collected from 20 stations where the most tea producer cities as Trabzon, Rize and Artvin tea fields of the eastern of Black Sea Region in Turkey. The cultivated tea and their own grown soil samples were analysed by using EDXRF Spectrometry. In the soil samples, the elements Mg, Al, Si, P, S, K, Ca, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, Sr, Ba, Pb on percent level and the elements Mg, Al, Si, P, Cl, K, Ca, Ti, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn and Sr in the tea leaves were detected by using SKRAY 3600-EDXRF.and also the obtained data were evaluated with the Kriging interpolation of geostatistical method. Element content were investigated in the soil and tea samples according to the geological situations and also the relation of elemental difference between the tea and the own grown soil. Pb/Zn ratio was also anaysed in the samples.
