Synthetic aperture radar(SAR) imaging is an efficient strategy which exploits the properties of microwaves to capture images. A major concern in SAR imaging is the reconstruction of image from back scattered signals in the presence of noise. The reflected signal consist of more noise than the target signal and it is a challenging problem to reduce the noise in the collected signal for better reconstruction of an image. Current studies mostly focus on filtering techniques for noise removal. This can result in an undesirable point spread function causing extreme smearing effect in the desired image. In order to handle this problem, a computational technique, particle swarm optimization(PSO) is used for de-noising purpose and later the target performance is further improved by an amalgamation of Wiener filter.Moreover, to improve the de-noising performance we have exploited the singular value decomposition based morphological filtering. To justify the proposed improvements we have simulated the proposed techniques and results are compared with the conventional existing models. The proposed method revealed considerable decrease in mean square error compared to Wiener filter and PSO techniques. Quantitative analysis of image restoration quality are also presented in comparison with Wiener filter and PSO based on the improvement in signal to noise ratio and peak signal to noise ratio.

Elemental Analysis of Tea Leaves (Camellia Sinensis) and Their Own Soils at Eastern Black Sea Region in Turkey

People consume tea brewed from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant for about 50 centuries. Health benefits of the tea have been investigated for about three decades. Especially green tea shows antitoxic and lots of properties with its determined ingredients. Turkey is not only the one of the best consumer and but also good producer of the tea as being 5 th producer all over the world. It grows eastern region of the Turkey and high quality tea is imported and exported. To have quality tea, grooving soils are also crucial. In the current research, Tea leaves and their own grown soils were collected from 20 stations where the most tea producer cities as Trabzon, Rize and Artvin tea fields of the eastern of Black Sea Region in Turkey. The cultivated tea and their own grown soil samples were analysed by using EDXRF Spectrometry. In the soil samples, the elements Mg, Al, Si, P, S, K, Ca, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, Sr, Ba, Pb on percent level and the elements Mg, Al, Si, P, Cl, K, Ca, Ti, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn and Sr in the tea leaves were detected by using SKRAY 3600-EDXRF.and also the obtained data were evaluated with the Kriging interpolation of geostatistical method. Element content were investigated in the soil and tea samples according to the geological situations and also the relation of elemental difference between the tea and the own grown soil. Pb/Zn ratio was also anaysed in the samples.

Active appearance model(AAM)is an efficient method for the localization of facial feature points,which is also useful for the subsequent work such as face detection and facial expression recognition.In this paper,we mainly discuss the AAMs based on principal component analysis(PCA).We also propose an efficient facial fitting algorithm,which is named inverse compositional image alignment(ICIA),to eliminate a considerable amount of computation resulting from traditional gradient descent fitting algorithm.Finally,3D facial curvature is used to initialize the location of facial feature,which helps select the parameters of initial state for the improved AAM.

The paper has analyzed the main factors for the students’ comprehensive ability acquisition concerning the cultivation mode of students majoring in network engineering in the newly established university for the undergraduates.It has also introduced a structure of a fully-open network engineering laboratory.Based on its features and main factors of students’ ability acquisition,typical cases study has indicated the way to improve the classroom teaching method and has analyzed the basic practical teaching system of a fully-open network engineering laboratory in terms of how to make the good use of and intensify the new features of the practical teaching system.

With the development of large-scale complicated modern power systems, the requirement for the associated protection scheme tends to be more stringent and its combination more complex. However, it is very difficult to figure out the factors of failure of such systems. This paper proposes a Petri net model of a transmission line protection relaying system, including three types of relays as well as an automatic reclosing device, and shows how to diagnose serial failure of the system by analyzing invariant sets of the model. Furthermore, it gives four basic types of failure sequences and its execution is much more intuitive and effective than the traditional method.

The rapid development of electronic warfare put a higher demand on radar performance, not only requires large bandwidth, high resolution, the adoption of a variety of signal processing, real-time processing speed is improved greatly. At the same time the signal processing operations rapidly increase in data throughput. With the great advance of large scale integrated circuit technology, the digital signal processor(DSP) as the core of digital signal processing was adapted to these requirements. This paper designed and achieved a system for radar target parameters processing using AD’s ADSP-TS201 DSP chip. Experimental results show that the system has a high operation speed, real time and multi-parameter handling capability.

An oscillator(OSC)with a metamaterial resonator based on high-Q is designed to improve the phase noise in Kband.The proposed metamaterial resonator is a lattice structure resonator(LSR)that is designed to be high-Q by a strong coupling of E-field at the resonance frequency.Thus the output of OSC is about 12.5dBm at the f0.The phase noise is 109.477dBc/Hz at 100kHz offset frequency.

Adaptive computational resource allocation for sensor networks

A smooth sliding mode control （SSMC） is applied to tackle the problem of PEM fuel cell system output voltage stabilization problems along with controlling oxygen excess ratio. The oxygen excess ratio is controlled in the inner control loop using PID while the regulation of output voltage is being treated in the outer loop through smooth sliding mode control. The control is applied on the validated nonlinear model of the PEM fuel cell system. The simulation results show that the scheme with SSM control provides same performance as compared to higher order sliding mode control （Super twisting Algorithm） in output voltage stabilization and also in minimizing the fuel consumption.

To efficiently utilize the limited computational resource in real-time sensor networks, this paper focuses on the challenge of computational resource allocation in sensor networks and provides a solution with the method of economics. It designs a microeconomic system in which the applications distribute their computational resource consumption across sensor networks by virtue of mobile agent. Further, it proposes the market-based computational resource allocation policy named MCRA which satisfies the uniform consumption of computational energy in network and the optimal division of the single computational capacity for multiple tasks. The simulation in the scenario of target tracing demonstrates that MCRA realizes an efficient allocation of computational resources according to the priority of tasks, achieves the superior allocation performance and equilibrium performance compared to traditional allocation policies, and ultimately prolongs the system lifetime.
