Microstructural evolution during directional solidification （DS） of Ni-base superalloy IN792＋Hf has been investigated with an emphasis on theγ′precipitates and MC-type *** quantitative image analyses revealed that the increase in the solidification rate up to 100μm/s at constant thermal gradient of 178 K/cm resulted in a fine and uniform distribution ofγ′*** relationship between the as-castγ′size and cooling rate was also determined for DS IN792＋*** the mean time,the MC carbide size was found to be dependent both on the solidification rate and the S/L interface morphology while the area fraction of MC carbide was significantly influenced by the S/L interface morphology.

An experimental study of the drying characteristics of an agitated fluidized bed dryer is presented and discussed. In the study, the citric acid particles were used as bed material with the diameters ranging from 0.2 mm to 1.3 mm. The variables affecting apparently the drying rate were found to be the mass flow rate, the inlet air temperature, the rotary speed of agitating mechanism and the particles feed rate. Comparing with other variables considered, mass flow rate was found to have the least important influence on the drying rate. The agitated fluidized bed dryer is suitable to drying agglomerating or sticky materials.

Air pollution from shipping is becoming a critical issue,particularly in dense hub port *** proposed solution to minimize ship-based emissions at ports is the implementation of an Onshore Power Supply(OPS)*** allows ships to shut off their auxiliary eng.nes and instead connect to the port *** there have been numerous studies conducted on ports in Europe and the United States,little research has been done on Egyptian ***,this paper aims to investigate the feasibility of implementing OPS at Port Said West Port in Egypt,aligning with Egypt Vision 2030’s goals for addressing climate *** research primarily focuses on analyzing data collected from calling ships to generate socio-economic and cost-effectiveness analyses of *** further enhance the environmental benefits of OPS,the paper proposes the use of solar energy as the OPS electricity *** findings of the study revealed that by relying on the national grid,emissions can be reduced by 28%.Moreover,it is predicted that this reduction could reach 100%if electricity generation is solely based on solar ***,the economic analysis demonstrates promising profitability,with a payback period of approximately two years.

Study of Interaction between Supersonic Flow and Rods Surrounded by Porous Cavity

In this paper, some preliminary calculations and the experiments were performed to figure out the flow field, in which some rods were normally inserted into the main flow surrounded by a porous cavity. As a result, it is found that the starting shock wave severely interacts with the rods, the bow shock wave, its reflections, and the porous wall, which are numerically well predicted at some conditions. Moreover, inserting the rods makes the pressure on the upper wall in the porous region increase when the main flow in the porous region is completely supersonic. The calculations also suggest that three rods cause the widest suction area.

A high-resolution finite element scheme is developed for the computation offree surface problems. The present higher-order accuracy scheme is obtained through the introductionof the difference of almost equal amount of diffusion and antidiffusion, where the antidiffusion isformulated as approximation to diffusion making use of consecutive gradient. The non-oscillatoryproperties are secured by limiters to preserve positivity constraints. The implement of the schemeis based on semi-discrete form and can be considered as reconstruction of the coefficient matrix ofalgebraic system, so, it can he conveniently used by either structured or unstructured meshes. Thepower and flexibility of the present high resolution VOF-FEM approach is validated by examplesincluding convective transport, dam breaking flow, and stilling basin flow in hydraulic eng.neering.

This paper deals with global stabilization problem for the nonlinear systems with structural uncertainty. Based on control Lyapunov function, a sufficient and necessary condition for the globally and asymptotically stabilizing the equailibrium of the closed system is given. Moreovery, an almost smooth state feedback control law is constructed. The simulation shows the effectiveness of the method.
