Effect of dissolved components of malachite and calcite on surface properties and flotation behavior

In general,malachite is recovered via sulfidization–xanthate flotation,although many unsatisfactory flotation indexes are frequently obtained as a result of the presence of associated *** phenomenon occurs because the dissolved components of malachite and calcite affect the flotation behavior of both *** this study,the effect of the dissolved components derived from malachite and calcite on the flotation behavior and surface characteristics of both minerals was *** tests indicated that malachite recovery decreased when the calcite supernatant was introduced,while the presence of the malachite supernatant increased the recovery of *** and adsorption tests,along with zeta potential measurements,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,Fourier transform infrared spectrometry,and timeof-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry demonstrated that the Ca species in the calcite supernatant were adsorbed on the malachite surface,which hindered the interaction of Na2S with malachite,thereby resulting in the insufficient adsorption of sodium isoamyl xanthate(NaIX)on the surface of *** contrast,the Cu species in the malachite supernatant were adsorbed on the calcite surface,and they provided active sites for the subsequent adsorption of Na_(2)S and NaIX.

The extensive Eshan granites of Yunnan are made up of three intrusive units distin- guished by their field contact relations; in descending order of age they are the Pojiao Unit, the Liizicun Unit and the Mokela Unit. The Pojiao Unit and Luzicun Unit contain petrographically and geochemically similar rocks but contact relationships show that the latter is younger. The Mokela Unit mainly consists of dykes intruding the other two and has petrographic and geochemical differ-ences. Zircon U/Pb dating and zircon crystallization temperature measurements confirm the se- quence of intrusions. Major and trace element analyses suggest that the magmas of the Pojiao Unit granites derived by partial melting of a clay-poor source from the upper crust; the magmas of the Luzicun Unit granites derived by partial melting of upper crust with a small proportion of middle crust accompanied by crystallization of albite which triggered strength reduction. Both magmas mixed and underwent with crustal contamination, assimilation and fractional crystallization. The magmas of the Mokela Unit derived from residual melts and assimilation of argillaceous rocks. A time sequence of melting, intrusion and deformation events is derived from these results and com- pared with other published tectonic models for the evolution of the SW margin of the Yangtze Plate. Magmatism was initiated by exhumation of upper continental crust during which strongly peralu- minous porphyritic biotite monzogranite granites were produced at ca. 854-852 Ma, and the genesis of two-mica granite reflected a later batch of exhumed melts with crustal contamination, assimilation and fractional crystallization at ca. 842 Ma. Finally biotite alkali-feldspar granite and tourmaline granite magmas experienced strong fractional crystallization, emplaced in the cooling stage at ca. 823 Ma, indicating the end of exhumation.

Surface Regional Heat(Cool) Island Effect and Its Diurnal Differences in Arid and Semiarid resource-based Urban Agglomerations

With the rapid development of urban agglomerations in northwest arid and semiarid regions of China, the scope of the urban heat island(UHI) effect has gradually expanded and gradually connected, and has formed a regional heat island(RHI) with a larger range of impact to the regional environment. However, there are few studies on the heat island effect of urban agglomerations in arid and semiarid regions, so this paper selects the urban agglomeration of Hohhot, Baotou and Ordos(HBO) of Inner Mongolia, China as the study area. Based on the 8-day composite Moderate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS) surface temperature data(156scenes in all) and land use maps for 2005, 2010, and 2015, we analyze the spatiotemporal distributions of regional heat(cool) islands(RH(C)I) and the responses of surface temperatures to land-use changes in the diurnal and interannual surface cities. The results showed that: 1) from 2005 to 2015, urban areas showed the cold island effect during the day, with the area of the cold island showing a shrinking feature;at night, they showed the heat island effect, with the area of the heat island showing a first decrease and then an increase.2) From 2005 to 2015, the land development(unutilized land to building land) brings the greatest temperature increase(ΔT = 1.36°C)during the day, while the greatest temperature change at night corresponds to the conversion of cultivated land to building land(ΔT =0.78°C) exhibited the largest changes at night. From 2010 to 2015, the land development(grassland to building land) bring the greatest temperature increase(ΔT = 0.85°C) during the day, while the great temperature change at night corresponds to the conversion of water areas to building land(ΔT = 1.38°C) exhibited the largest changes at night. Exploring the spatial and temporal evolution of surface urban heat(cool) islands in urban agglomerations in arid and semiarid regions will help to understand the urbanization characteristics of urban agglomerat

As one of the world’s largest emitters of greenhouse gases,China has set itself the ambitious goal of achieving carbon peaking and carbon ***,it is crucial to quantify the magnitude and trend of sources and sinks of atmospheric carbon dioxide(CO2),and to monitor China’s progress toward these *** state-of-the-art datasets and models,this study comprehensively estimated the anthropogenic CO2emissions from energy,industrial processes and product use,and waste along with natural sources and sinks of CO2for all of China during *** recognize the differences among various methods of estimating greenhouse emissions,the estimates are compared with China’s National Greenhouse Gas Inventories(NGHGIs) for 1994,2005,2010,2012,and *** CO2emissions in China have increased by 7.39 times from 1980 to 12.77 Gt CO2a-1in *** benefiting from ecological projects(e.g., Three Norths Shelter Forest System Project),the land carbon sink in China has reached 1.65 Gt CO2a-1averaged through 2010-2021,which is almost 15.81 times that of the carbon sink in the *** average,China’s terrestrial ecosystems offset 14.69%±2.49% of anthropogenic CO2emissions through *** provincial-level administrative regions of China,Xizang and Qinghai,have achieved carbon neutrality according to our estimates,but nearly half of the administrative regions of China have terrestrial carbon sink offsets of less than 10% of anthropogenic *** study indicated a high level of consistency between NGHGIs and various datasets used for estimating fossil CO2emissions,but found notable differences for land carbon *** estimates of the terrestrial carbon sinks of NGHGIs urgently need to be verified with process-based models which integrate the comprehensive carbon cycle processes.

In order to evaluate the productivity of reclamation lands in mining districts, field investigation and spatial information technique were adopted to investigate influence factors of land. Based on the collected data of each land, membership grade of each factor was obtained based on Fuzzy logic, and combined weight of each factor was got by analytica1 hierarch process and Delphi method. According to membership grades and combined weights of all factors, integrated fertility index (IFI) of every land was calculated to reflect levels of the productivity of reclamation lands in mining districts. Experimental results show that spatial information technique is an efficient method in field data collection, while lack of evaluation data. By means of quantificational analysis of this method, IFI is appropriate to describe the productive capacity level of reclamation lands.

The ferrite process can not only purify wastewater containing heavy metal ions but also recycle valuable metals from wastewater. Therefore, it is considered a promising technology to treat chromiumcontaining wastewater. However, the process has not been extensively applied in industry due to its high synthesis temperature. In this paper, the feasibility of chromite synthesis at room temperature was comprehensively studied. The effects of critical factors on the effluent quality and the crystallization behavior and stability of the synthetic products were investigated. Results showed that the removal ratio of chromium from wastewater was over 99.0%, and the chromium concentration in the supernatant reached the sewage discharge standard after undergoing the ferrite process at room temperature. Increases in the aeration rate, stirring rate, and reaction time were favorable for the formation of stable chromite. The particles obtained by the ferrite process at room temperature were characterized by a compact structure, and the maximum size of the particles reached 52 μm. Chromium gradually entered the spinel crystal structure during the synthesis process, and the molecular formula of the synthetic chromite might be Fe3-xCrxO4, in which x was approximately 0.30. The path of the microscopic reaction was proposed to illuminate the synthesis mechanism of chromite under room temperature conditions. The present study has laid the foundation for the industrial application of the ferrite process in the purification and utilization of chromium-containing wastewater.

The remote forcing from land surface changes in the Sahara is hypothesized to play a pivotal role in modulating the intensity of the East Asian summer monsoon(EASM)through ocean-atmospheric *** modulation has far-reaching consequences,particularly in facilitating societal shifts documented in northern ***,we present a well-dated lake-level record from the Daihai Lake Basin in northern China,providing quantitative assessments of Holocene monsoonal precipitation and the consequent migrations of the northern boundary of the *** reconstruction,informed by a water-and-energy balance model,indicates that annual precipitation reached700 mm during 8–5 ka,followed by a rapid decline to tween 5 and 4 *** shift coherently aligns with a signi550 mm be-ficant300 km northwestward movement of the EASM northern boundary during the Middle Holocene(MH),in contrast to its current *** findings underscore that these changes cannot be entirely attributed to orbital forcing,as corroborated by simulation *** model simulations deployed in our study suggest that the presence of the Green Sahara during the MH significantly strengthened the EASM and led to a northward shift of the monsoon rainfall ***,the Sahara’s reversion to a desert landscape in the late Holocene was accompanied by a corresponding southward retraction of monsoon *** dramatic hydroclimate changes during5–4 ka likely triggered or at least contributed to a shift in Neolithic cultures and societal transformation in northern *** decreasing agricultural productivity,communities transitioned from millet farming to a mixed rainfed agriculture and animal husbandry ***,our findings elucidate not only the variability of the EASM but also the profound implications of a remote forcing,such as surface transformations of the Sahara,on climatic changes and cultural evolution in northern China.
