Energy-efficient and security-optimized AES hardware design for ubiquitous computing

Ubiquitous computing must incorporate a certain level of security. For the severely resource constrained applications, the energy-efficient and small size cryptography algorithm implementation is a critical problem. Hardware implementations of the advanced encryption standard （AES） for authentication and encryption are presented. An energy consumption variable is derived to evaluate low-power design strategies for battery-powered devices. It proves that compact AES architectures fail to optimize the AES hardware energy, whereas reducing invalid switching activities and implementing power-optimized sub-modules are the reasonable methods. Implementations of different substitution box （S-Boxes） structures are presented with 0.25μm 1.8 V CMOS （complementary metal oxide semiconductor） standard cell library. The comparisons and trade-offs among area, security, and power are explored. The experimental results show that Galois field composite S-Boxes have smaller size and highest security but consume considerably more power, whereas decoder-switch-encoder S-Boxes have the best power characteristics with disadvantages in terms of size and security. The combination of these two type S-Boxes instead of homogeneous S-Boxes in AES circuit will lead to optimal schemes. The technique of latch-dividing data path is analyzed, and the quantitative simulation results demonstrate that this approach diminishes the glitches effectively at a very low hardware cost.

A kind of environmental friendly novel composite flocculants which are used to treat raw water is prepared. It is made with chitosan (CS), iron modified polyaluminium chloride (cf-PAC) and modified montmorillonite on the principle of “the combination of organic and inorganic”. Under the optimum best compound formula and flocculation process, the turbidity of the waste water reduced by 0.62%, the chemical cost decreased by 12.43% and the content of aluminium ions dropped by 70.65%. There is an excellent characteristic and higher efficiency on the composite flocculant which can adsorb the organic matter in the water and chelate the heavy metal ions in the water.

In recent times,various power control and clustering approaches have been proposed to enhance overall performance for cell-free massive multipleinput multiple-output(cf-mMIMO)*** the emergence of deep reinforcement learning(DRL),significant progress has been made in the field of network optimization as DRL holds great promise for improving network performance and *** this work,our focus delves into the intricate challenge of joint cooperation clustering and downlink power control within cf-mMIMO *** the potent deep deterministic policy gradient(DDPG)algorithm,our objective is to maximize the proportional fairness(PF)for user rates,thereby aiming to achieve optimal network performance and resource ***,we harness the concept of“divide and conquer”strategy,introducing two innovative methods termed alternating DDPG(A-DDPG)and hierarchical DDPG(H-DDPG).These approaches aim to decompose the intricate joint optimization problem into more manageable sub-problems,thereby facilitating a more efficient resolution *** findings unequivo-cally showcase the superior efficacy of our proposed DDPG approach over the baseline schemes in both clustering and downlink power ***,the A-DDPG and H-DDPG obtain higher performance gain than DDPG with lower computational complexity.

This paper analyzes the basic characters of optimum open-pit limit. According to them, following general rule for designing pit limit is obtained. The incremental stripping ratios is not greater than the break-even stripping ratios, or the net incremental value is not less than zero. The rule can be used both in traditional and computer methods as direct basis to determine an optimum limit for any kinds of deposit.

Paper-based electrochemical sensors provide the opportunity for low-cost,portable and environmentally friendly single-use chemical analysis and there are various reports of surface-functionalized paper *** we report a composite paper electrode that is fabricated through designed papermaking using cellulose,carbon fibers(cf),and graphene oxide(GO).The composite paper has well-controlled structure,stable,and repeatable properties,and offers the electrocatalytic activities for sensitive and selective chemical *** demonstrate that this cf/GO/cellulose composite paper can be reduced electroche mically using relatively mild conditions and this GO reduction confers electrocatalytic properties to the composite ***,we demonstrate that this composite paper offers sensing performance(sensitivity and selectivity)comparable to,or better than,paperbased sensors prepared by small-batch surface-modification(e.g.,printing)*** envision this coupling of industrialized papermaking technologies with interfacial engineering and electrochemical reduction can provide a platform for single-use and portable chemical detection for a wide range of applications.

The subsided water areas with different times of subsidence are chosen to monitor the physicochemical indexes and heavy metal elements. The results indicate that subsided water areas are polluted in different degree. Some physicochemical indexes of subsided water areas are increased with the development of the subsidence and are changed with the changing of the season. The concentration of As, Cd, Cu, Pb, Se, Zn of subsided water areas is less than national fishery, and surface water quality standards of China , except Hg. And the quality of subsided water hasn＇t been polluted by heavy metal seriously. Analyzing and appraising the quality of the subsided water can give a reasonable data as basis in using the subsided water resource.

The initial and significant step in the design of a cellular manufacturing system is cell formation (cf).cf problem is proposed in this paper as a decision problem that determines to manufacture specified types of part in a manufacturing plant which machines and their associated parts are grouped together to form cell in a way that a concerned objective is optimized. For describing cf problem clearly,this paper firstly presents a review of cell formation problem from the view points of objective *** cf problems are classified into three categories,which are cost oriented,flexibility oriented and grouping efficiency oriented cf ***,the paper presents a comprehensive conceptual mathematical formulation describing the general cost problem and a decision variable for comprehensive describing routing flexibility and two trade-off questions in grouping efficiency ***,based on the review and discussion,the paper proposes five directions for future research in the cf field.
