Severalstudieshaveindicatedthatthegreenlacewing, Chrysoperlanipponensis （Neuroptera： Chrysopidae） may include more than one valid species. We investigated the phylogenetic status of Chrysoperla nipponensis s.l. in China and Japan using mitochondrial sequences and AFLP data. The molecular phylogenetic analyses based on mitochondrial genes showed that the C. nipponensis species-complex comprises four clades, each having high support values. In addition, the phylogenetic tree based on AFLP data indicates that the species-complex comprises three groups. These results confirm that C. nipponensis s.1. comprises at least three genetically distinct clades and suggests that two of these clades may be closely related to populations of C. nipponensis in Japan. However, these clades cannot be recognized as species until analysis of their courtshin songs has been cornnleted

We reinvestigate the morphology of two oligotrich and two hypotrich ciliates collected from the coasts of north and south China, viz., Parallelostrombidium obesum Liu et al., 2015, Spirostrombidium apourceolare Liu et al., 2013, Protogastrostyla pulchra(Pereyaslawzewa, 1886) Gong et al., 2007, and Uncinata bradburyae(Gong et al., 2001) Luo et al., 2015. All the populations match well with the original samples identified in previous studies. Supplemental taxonomic data were supplied for these four species of the new populations. The species Parallelostrombidium obesum is characterised by its dorsal-ventrally flattened body shape with anterior and posterior ends transversely truncating, as well as two thigmotactic membranelles and girdle kinety that spirals around the cell one and a half times. Spirostrombidium apourceolare is characterised by its elongate ellipsoidal and dorsal-ventrally flattened body shape, two thigmotactic membranelles, about 11-27 ovoid macronuclear nodules, and girdle kinety that spirals around the cell twice with two undulations. Protogastrostyla pulchra is characterised by its elongate body shape and unique, caudally located food vacuole. Based on the new populations, we described the smaller cortical granules, clustered around dorsal bristles for the first time. The new population of Uncinata bradburyae shares the diagnostic features with the type population, which include prominent beak-like projection in anterior region, the conspicuous gap of adoral zone, proximalmost adoral membranelles distinctly elongated, and infraciliature.

The Damoshan deposit is a small B-F-Sn Bi exoskarn deposit and contains a distinctive mineral assemblage comprising andradite,vesuvianite,calcite,diopside,magnetite,hematite,nordenskioldine,cassiterite,varlamoffite,schenfliesite,native bismuth,eulytite,bismite and bismuthite,in which the occurrence of eulytite is the first reported in *** of the mineral paragenses show that andradite,vesuvianite and diopside were the earliest phases formed during metasomatism,i.e.,the skarn forming *** nordenskioldine,magnetite and native bismuth,perhaps together with eulytite,were precipitated at the stage of retrograde *** minerals varlamoffite,schoenfliesite,hematite ,bismite and bismuthite were probably the product of supergene *** minerals were analyzed by means of electron *** data on the ,coexisting phases and their compositons show that during the metasomatism reduced F-and Sn-rich primary mineralizing solutions reacted with highly oxidized carbonated of the Gejie Formation,producing a high Fe^2+/Fe^3+ skarn(vesuvianite-fluorite skarn)near the contact of granite,and a low Fe^2+/Fe^3+ skarn(vesuvianite-fluorite skarn)near the contact of granite,and a low Fe^2+/Fe^3+ skarn(andradite skarn)in the outer zone of the skarn body in which andradite is extremely tin-bearing up to 5.14 wt% SnO2),In the retrograde alteration stage ,B-rich,but F-and Si-deficient mineralizing solutions replaced the tin-bearing andradite,forming an association of nordenskioldine and magnetite,No sulphides were deposited at this stage because of the oxidization ambient conditions in the andradite *** the spergene oxidation zone,the nordenskioldine was dissolved into varlmoffite and calcite,the native bismuth was transformed into bismite or bismuthite ,and the magnetite was altered into hematite under the action of the CO2-rich supergene solutions.

Age estimation of individuals aged 5-23 years based on dental development of the Indonesian population

Geochemical maps are of great value in mineral *** geochemical anomaly maps provide comprehensive information about mapping assemblages of element concentrations to possible types of mineralization/ore,but vary depending on expert's knowledge and *** paper aims to test the capability of deep neural networks to delineate integrated anomaly based on a case study of the Zhaojikou Pb-Zn deposit,Southeast *** hundred fifty two samples were collected,and each sample consisted of 26 variables covering elemental composition,geological,and tectonic *** first,generative adversarial networks were adopted for data ***,DNN was trained on sets of synthetic and real data to identify an integrated ***,the results of DNN analyses were visualized in probability maps and compared with traditional anomaly maps to check its *** showed that the average accuracy of the validation set was 94.76%.The probability maps showed that newly-identified integrated anomalous areas had a probability of above 75%in the northeast *** also showed that DNN models that used big data not only successfully recognized the anomalous areas identified on traditional geochemical element maps,but also discovered new anomalous areas,not picked up by the elemental anomaly maps previously.

Chemosensation is the most ubiquitous sense in animals,enacted by the products of complex gene families that detect environmental chemical cues and larger-scale sensory structures that process these *** there is a general conception that olfactory receptor(OR)genes evolve rapidly,the universality of this phenomenon across vertebrates,and its magnitude,are *** supposed correlation between molecular rates of chemosensory evolution and phenotypic diversity of chemosensory systems is largely *** combine comparative genomics and sensory morphology to test whether OR genes and olfactory phenotypic traits evolve at faster rates than other genes or *** published genomes,we identified ORs in 21 tetrapods,including amphibia ns,reptiles,birds,and mammals and compared their rates of evolution to those of orthologous non-OR protein-coding *** found that,for all clades investigated,most OR genes evolve nearly an order of magnitude faster than other protein-coding genes,with many OR genes showing signatures of diversifying selection across nearly all taxa in this *** rapid rate of evolution suggests that chemoreceptor genes are in "evolutionary overdrive,"perhaps evolving in response to the ever-changing chemical space of the *** obtain complementary morphological data,we stained whole fixed specimens with iodine,μCT-scanned the specimens,and digitally segmented chemosensory and nonchemosensory brain *** then estimated phenotypic variation within traits and among *** we found considerable variation in chemosensory structures,they were no more diverse than nonchemosensory *** suggest chemoreceptor genes evolve quickly in reflection of an ever-changing chemical space,whereas chemosensory phe no types and processing regions are more conserved because they use a standardized or constrained architecture to receive and process a range of chemical cues.

Taxonomic Studies on a New Marine Ciliate, Apocoleps magnus gen. nov., spec. nov. (Ciliophora, Colepidae), Isolated from Qingdao, China

The origin and dispersal of diplograptids in the Ordovician has been one of the three major evolutionary events of graptolites. The diplograptids, a group of biserial graptolites with two scandent stipes that include nema, appeared suddenly prior to the Darriwilian (late Arenig) and quickly achieved a wide distribution in the early Darriwilian of Mid Ordovician. The Upper Ordovician planktonic graptolites and the Silurian monograptids are regarded to derive from this group. One of its early representative species, Undulograptus austrodentatus, had proven to be distributed world-wide and was consequently selected to define the base of the Darriwilian.

The morphology and infraciliature of a new marine colepid ciliate, Apocoleps magnus gen. nov., spec. nov., are described based on living observations and silver impregnations. The new genus Apocoleps is characterized by having 8 (vs. 6 in most other related genera) armour tiers, spines at both ends of the cell, 3 adoral organelles and plates with 4 reniform uni-windows. Apocoleps magnus spec. nov. is defined by the following features: body elongated and slightly curved, about 100–120μm× 35–45 μm in vivo; anterior tertiary tier plate with four uni-windows, most secondary and main tier plates with four uni-windows, posterior tertiary tier plate with two uni-windows; left plate margin slightly serrated; on average 23 transverse and 22 longitudinal ciliary rows; one terminal contractile vacuole; marine habitat.

Ecotoxic effects of antibiotics or ammonium have been confirmed independently in aquatic animals,but few studies have investigated their combined *** aquaculture ecosystems,these pollutants frequently coexist,and often in high *** this study,the combined effects of antibiotic nitrofurazone and NH4 Cl on the population dynamics and growth rates of two species of ciliated protists,Euplotes vannus and Pseudokeronopsis rubra,were *** of the dose-responses were visualized,and interactions between the two pollutants were quantified by the response surface method(RSM).Results showed that 1)the dynamics of the population growth differed significantly between the testd ciliates and varied with the concentrations of the pollutants;2)the relative growth rate(RGR)of both ciliates decreased significantly with increased pollutant concentrations,while the difference in RGR between the two ciliates was not significant;3)RSM analysis demonstrated an additive effect of nitrofurazone and NH4 Cl on the RGR in both *** brief,ecotoxic effects can be caused by nitrofurazone and ammonium independently on the two test ciliates,and such effects can be strengthened when they present at the same *** findings offer a valuable reference for evaluating combined ecotoxic effects caused by multiple pollutants in aquaculture ecosystems.
