基因组选择(genomic selection,GS)是继标记辅助选择(marker-assisted selection,MAS)之后发展起来的新一代畜禽遗传评估的新方法。近年来,不少学者从各方面对GS在畜禽育种中的运用进行了研究,结果发现,与其他方法相比,GS优势明显,是当前畜禽遗传育种领域的研究热点。作者系统地阐述了GS估计染色体片段效应的方法及其准确性比较,详细介绍了影响GS准确性的因素、GS的经济效益,以及世界各国学者研究GS在实际育种中的应用情况,最后简述了中国畜禽育种开展GS策略所面临的挑战及其展望。

对发生渗出性皮炎(exudative epidermitis,EE)的病死仔猪进行病原学诊断,通过染色特性、生化试验、致病性试验及药敏试验,结合PCR方法对其16S rDNA基因序列分析进行鉴定。结果表明,病原为猪葡萄球菌和松鼠葡萄球菌混合感染,对小鼠均有致病性,且能从死亡小鼠上分离到相同病原菌。分离菌株混合培养物对头孢类等药物高度敏感,对氯霉素等药物中度敏感,对四环素和红霉素耐药。提示可使用敏感药物进行预防和治疗,注重平时的饲养管理和环境消毒是预防本病的重要措施。

Liver fibrosis is a hallmark of clonorchiasis suffered by millions people in Eastern Asian countries.However,little is known to date about the expression of transforming growth factor-p(TGF-P) and other molecules in TGF-p/Smad signaling pathway which may play an important role in hepatic fibrosis caused by C.sinensis.A total of 24 mice were individually infected orally with 45 metacercariae,both experimental mice(n=8) and mocked-infected control mice(n=5) were anesthetized at 4 week post-infection(wk p.i.),8wk p.i.,and 16 wk p.i.,respectively.For each time-point,the liver and serum from each animal were collected to analyze histological findings and various fibrotic parameters including TGF-β,TGF-β receptors and down-stream Smads activation,as well as fibrosis markers expression.The results showed that collagen depositions indicated by hydroxyproline content and Masson’s trichrome staining were increased gradually with the development of infection.mRNA levels of Smad2,Smad3 as well as the protein of Smad3 in livers of C.sinensis-infected mice were increased after 4 wk p.i.(PO.05,compared with normal control) whereas the TGF-β,TGF-β type Ⅰ receptor(TGFβRI) and TGF-p type Ⅱ receptor(TGFβRII) mRNA expression in C.sinensis-infected mice were higher than those of normal control mice after 8 wk p.i.(P<0.05).However,the gene expression of Smad4 and Smad7 were peaked at 4 wk p.i.(P<0.05),and thereafter dropped to the basal level at 8 wk p.i.,and 16 wk p.i.,respectively.The concentrations of TGF-Pi in serum at 8 wk p.***.and 16 wk p.i(P<0.05) were significantly higher than in the control mice.The results of the present study indicated for the first time that activation of TGF-β/Smad signaling pathway may be involved in liver fibrosis caused by C.sinensis.

Ascaridoid nematodes commonly parasitise a wide variety of wild and domestic vertebrates, and many species are of veterinary, medical and economic importance. In China, our current knowledge of the composition of the ascaridoid nematode fauna is far from complete. Catalogues are very useful and essential tools for the taxonomists and other biologists. However, as far as we are aware, there has been no comprehensive catalogue of the known ascaridoids of China. A catalogue, based on both examined specimens and the published literature, of all the ascaridoid nematodes recorded in China is presented. A total of 95 recognised species, representing 26 genera in five families, are reported. Detailed information on the type-host, type-locality, original reference, synonyms, annotated subsequent references of taxonomic importance, other host records, site of infection, location of type-specimens and distribution are listed for each recognised species. Additional comments on the taxonomic status of some species are also given. Moreover, some nomenclatural changes are proposed:(i) Toxascaris selenarctis Wang, 1965 and T. ailuri Wu, He & Hu, 1987 are placed in synonymy with Baylisascaris transfuga(Rudolphi, 1819);(ii) Raphidascaris lophii Wang & Wu, 1991 is a secondary homonym of R. lophii(Wu, 1949) and a replacement name, R. wangi nom. nov., is proposed for the former species;(iii) Aliascaris aetoplatea Luo, 2001 is transferred to Terranova Leiper & Atkinson, 1914, as T. aetoplatea(Luo, 2001) n. comb., and should be considered a species inquirenda;(iv) Ophidascaris orientalis(Wang, 1965) is resurrected as a valid species;(v) Phocascaris longispiculum Wang & Wu, 1991 and Ophidascaris agkistrodontis Wang, 1979 are treated as incertae sedis;and(vi) Hysterothylacium sauridae Li, Xu & Zhang, 2008 is listed as a nomen nudum.

＜正＞Twenty-five epizootics of high pathogenicity avian influenza（HPAI）have occurred in the world since 1959.The largest of these outbreaks has been the H5NI HPAI which has caused problems in poultry and some wild birds in over 57 countries of Asia,Europe and Africa since beginning in 1996.The H5NI HPAI viruses have also caused severe infections and death in a few humans,but such infections have been rarely caused by other HPAI viruses.Natural infections of wild birds with HPAI virus was first reported in common terns in South Africa during 1961 with the H5N3 subtype.With the H5NI HPAI virus first reported in China during 1996,wild bird infections were not initially reported,but beginning in 2002 in Hong Kong,a variety of fatal infections in various wild and captive waterfowl and wading birds was reported.In early 2005,large die-offs of wild waterfowl were reported in Qinghai China,followed by wild bird mortality in Mongolia and Siberia.The outbreaks were also reported in poultry in Siberia and Kazakhstan.In winter 2006,mortality was identified in waterfowl in several European Union countries with minimal cases in poultry.The HPAI viruses cause severe systemic infection in multiple poultry species and the viruses can be present in multiple internal organs,meat, eggs and blood.The most recent viruses from Vietnam also cause high mortality in young domestic ducks.

With the aim of evaluating how changes in the metabolic status in the last month of pregnancy affects reproductive efficiency, forty six Bos indicus multiparous cows (5.5 ± 2.4 parturitions), were used. Measurements of body weight (BW), body condition score (BCS) and dorsal back fat (BF) were taken in the last month of pregnancy, postpartum period previous to synchronization (average 50 d) and at breeding by natural mating following synchronization with a progestin (average 70 d). Average postpartum days to resumption to ovarian activity were 79.96 ± 16.5 d, and average postpartum days to conception was 88.5 ± 14 d. Days postpartum to resumption of the ovarian activity was positively correlated (0.51, P 0.01) with days postpartum to conception, also, days postpartum to conception was positively correlated with prepartum back fat (14 d before parturition) (0.44, P 0.05). It was observed that BF at calving which is an objective measurement had a low correlation with other productive variables such as BCS and BW (always less than 0.39). Body fat might be a more reliable indicator of the current metabolic status of the animal particularly in the last month of pregnancy when the indicators of BCS are somehow more difficult to interpret and subjective.
