Analysis of the Value of Multi-Slice Spiral CT and Magnetic Resonance Imaging in the Diagnosis of Carpal Joint Injury

Objective:To analyze the value of multi-slice spiral computed tomography(CT)and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)in the diagnosis of carpal joint ***:A total of 130 patients with suspected wrist injuries admitted to the department of orthopedics of our hospital from January 2023 to January 2024 were selected and randomly divided into a single group(n=65)and a joint group(n=65).the single group was diagnosed using multi-slice spiral CT,and the joint group was diagnosed using multi-slice spiral CT and magnetic resonance imaging,with pathological diagnosis as the gold *** diagnostic results of both groups were compared to the gold standard,and the diagnostic energy efficiency of both groups was ***:the diagnostic results of the single group compared with the gold standard were significant(Pthe diagnostic results of the joint group compared with the gold standard were not significant(P>0.05).the sensitivity and accuracy of diagnosis in the joint group were significantly higher than that in the single group(Pthe specificity of diagnosis in the joint group was higher as compared to that in the single group(P>0.05).Conclusion:the combination of multi-slice spiral CT and MRI was highly accurate in diagnosing wrist injuries,and the misdiagnosis rate and leakage rate were relatively ***,this diagnostic program is recommended to be popularized.

this study examined the role of collapsin response mediator protein 1 （CRMP-1） on neurite outgrowth from rat hippocampal neurons by blocking its function using an antibody. Hippocampal neurons, cultured in vitro, were treated （blocked） using a polyclonal antibody to CRMP-1, and neurite outgrowth and cytoskeletal changes were captured using atomic force microscopy and laser confocal microscopy. Control cells, treated with normal rabbit IgG, established their characteristic morphology and had a large number of processes emerging from the soma, including numerous branches. Microtubules were clearly visible in the soma, formed an elaborate network, and were aligned in parallel arrays to form bundles which projected into neurites. After blocking with CRMP-1 antibody, the number of branches emerging from axons and dendrites significantly increased and were substantially longer, compared with control cells. However, the microtubule network nearly disappeared and only a few remnants were visible. When CRMP-1 antibody-blocked neurons were treated with the Rho inhibitor, Y27632, numerous neurites emerged from the soma, and branches were more abundant than in control neurons. Although the microtubules were not as clearly visible compared with neurons cultured in control medium, the microtubule network recovered in cells treated with Y27632, when compared with cells that were blocked by CRMP-1 antibody （but not treated with Y27632）. these results demonstrate that neurite outgrowth from hippocampal neurons can be promoted by blocking CRMP-1 with a polyclonal antibody.

Tantalum(Ta)is used in orthopedic implants because it has excellent ***,high elastic modulus,bio-inertness,and unsatisfactory osteointegration limits its wider use in clinical ***,a 3 D porous Ta scaffold with low elastic modulus was fabricated using selective laser melting(SLM).Strontium(Sr)was incorporated on the surface of the scaffold with the aid of polydopamine(PDA)to further improve its osteointegration *** prepared scaffolds exhibited a stable Sr ion release in 14 *** bone marrow stem cells(BMSCs)showed improved early adhesion and spreading after Sr was incorporated on the porous Ta *** osteogenic behavior,including extracellular matrix mineralization(ECM),alkaline phosphatase activity(ALP),and expression of bone-related RNA,were all ***,the Sr-incorporated porous Ta scaffolds exhibited better angiogenic behavior,such as promoting migration,tube formation,and angiogenesis-related RNA expression abilities of human vascular endothelial cells(HUVECs).Additionally,histological images(H&E,Masson and CD31 immunofluorescent staining)suggested that Sr-incorporated porous Ta scaffolds displayed enhanced osteointegration and angiogenesis after implantation in rat femur for 12 *** findings prove that the PDA-based Sr-incorporated porous Ta scaffolds show promising use in orthopedic implants.

the progressive degradation in the trabecular meshwork(TM)is related to age-related ocular diseases like primary open-angle ***,the molecular basis and biological significance of the aging process in TM have not been fully ***,we established a dynamic single-cell transcriptomic landscape of aged macaque TM,wherein we classified the outflow tissue into 12 cell subtypes and identified mitochondrial dysfunction as a prominent feature of TM ***,we divided TM cells into 13 clusters and performed an in-depth analysis on cluster O,which had the highest aging score and the most significant changes in cell proportions between the two ***,we found that the APOE gene was an important differentially expressed gene in cluster O during the aging process,highlighting the close relationship between cell migration and extracellular matrix regulation,and TM *** work further demonstrated that silencing the APOE gene could increase migration and reduce apoptosis by releasing the inhibition on the PI3K-AKT pathway and downregulating the expression of extracellular matrix components,thereby increasing the aqueous outflow rate and maintaining intraocular pressure within the normal *** work provides valuable insights for future clinical diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma.

Radiotherapy is widely used clinically, but the toxic and side effects of nonselective killing of high-energy radiation limit its application. Finding biocompatible materials to assemble radiotherapy sensitizers and studying their sensitization patterns are of great significance for the clinical application. Here, biocompatible zinc porphyrin was chosen as sub-unit to construct various dimensional coordination frameworks. By employing top-down approach, suitable nanoframeworks with various dimensional zinc porphyrin were synthesized as radiosensitizers. the experimental data showed that high-dimensional zinc porphyrin nanoframeworks exhibit higher X-ray response performance.

Simultaneous anterior and posterior traumatic dislocations of both hips are very rare. Only 33 cases have been previously reported in the English language literature. Although they were all due to high-energy injuries, they were hemodynamically stable and had a stable pelvic ring. We report a unique case of asymmetrical hip dislocations with an unstable pelvic ring and hemodynamic instability. A 40-year-old man was injured in a high-energy motor vehicle accident. He was hemodynamically unstable when he presented in the emergency department. Radiolographs showed asymmetrical dislocations of both hips with an unstable pelvic ring. Under general anesthesia, he had closed reduction of the dislocations of both hips, followed by temporary stabilization with an external fixator. Transcatheter arterial embolization was performed to stop active pelvic bleeding. Delayed open reduction and internal fixation was performed 12 d later with anterior and posterior plates. the patient recovered well with an uneventful post-operative course. Asymmetrical bilateral hip dislocations with pelvic ring instability caused by trauma, as presented in this case, is very rare and potentially life threatening. Prompt treatment can give a good outcome.

Transplantation of olfactory bulb-derived olfactory ensheathing cells （OECs） promotes motor functional recovery in rats with acute spinal cord injury, possibly by Nogo-A expression changes at the injury site. the present study transplanted OECs derived from the olfactory mucosa （OM） of rats OM-derived OEC （OM-OEC） transplantation significantly reduced the increase of Nogo-A protein and mRNA expression caused by spinal cord injury, supporting the hypothesis that OM-OECs improve spinal cord regeneration by reducing Nogo-A expression.

Sensory function is the most significant criterion when evaluating the prognosis of replanted fingers. Current clinical research has focused on surgical techniques and indications for finger replantation; however, few studies have focused on recovery of finger sensory function af- ter replantation. this study retrospectively assessed data of eight patients who had undergone nine Zone I replantations of the fingertips in the First Affiliated hospital of Sun Yat-sen University of China from July 2014 to January 2016. Variations in the extent of damage, with the residual vessels or nerves in some fingers being too short or even missing, prevented tension-free suture repair in some patients. thus, re- pair of four of the nine fingertips included arteriovenous anastomosis, the remaining five undergoing arterial anastomosis during replanta- tion of the amputated fingers. three patients underwent nerve repair, whereas the remaining six cases did not. Fingertip replantations were successful in all eight patients. Compared with the patients without vascular anastomosis, no obvious atrophy was visible in the fingertips of patients who did undergo vascular anastomosis during replantation and their sensory function did recover. Fingertip replantation pro- vides good sensory function and cosmetic outcomes when good artery and vein anastomoses have been created, even when digital nerves have not been repaired.
