A framework for dialectal Chinese speech recognition is proposed and studied, in which a relatively small dialectal Chinese （or in other words Chinese influenced by the native dialect） speech corpus and dialect-related knowledge are adopted to transform a standard Chinese （or Putonghua, abbreviated as PTH） speech recognizer into a dialectal Chinese speech recognizer. Two kinds of knowledge sources are explored： one is expert knowledge and the other is a small dialectal Chinese corpus. These knowledge sources provide information at four levels： phonetic level, lexicon level, language level, and acoustic decoder level. This paper takes Wu dialectal Chinese （WDC） as an example target language. The goal is to establish a WDC speech recognizer from an existing PTH speech recognizer based on the Initial-Final structure of the Chinese language and a study of how dialectal Chinese speakers speak Putonghua. The authors propose to use contextindependent PTH-IF mappings （where IF means either a Chinese Initial or a Chinese Final）, context-independent WDC-IF mappings, and syllable-dependent WDC-IF mappings （obtained from either experts or data）, and combine them with the supervised maximum likelihood linear regression （MLLR） acoustic model adaptation method. To reduce the size of the multipronunciation lexicon introduced by the IF mappings, which might also enlarge the lexicon confusion and hence lead to the performance degradation, a Multi-Pronunciation Expansion （MPE） method based on the accumulated uni-gram probability （AUP） is proposed. In addition, some commonly used WDC words are selected and added to the lexicon. Compared with the original PTH speech recognizer, the resulting WDC speech recognizer achieves 10-18% absolute Character Error Rate （CER） reduction when recognizing WDC, with only a 0.62% CER increase when recognizing PTH. The present study investigates the preferred strategies of the speech act of complaint by Malaysian ESL learners. The subjects were selected from Malaysian university students majoring in english at University Sains Malaysia. Data were collected through an open-ended questionnaire in the form of a discourse completion task and a semi-structured interview. The responses were analyzed based on Rinnert and Nogami＇s （2006） taxonomy of the speech act of complaint to examine the main components of complaint, the level of directness and the degree of mitigation. It is anticipated that the findings will be able to provide valuable insights into teaching and learning english in non-native settings.

This study conducts both numerical and empirical assessments of thermal transfer and fluid flow characteristics in a Solar Air Collector(SAC)using a Delta Wing Vortex Generator(DWVG),and the effects of different height ratios(Rh=0.6,0.8,1,1.2 and 1.4)in delta wing vortex generators,which were not considered in the earlier studies,are *** and exergy analyses are performed to gain maximum *** Reynolds number based on the outlet velocity and hydraulic diameter falls between 4400 and 22000,corresponding to the volume flow rate of 5.21–26.07 m^(3)/*** is observed that the delta wing vortex generators with a higher height ratio yield maximum heat transfer enhancement and overall enhancement *** empirical and numerical findings demonstrate that the exergy and thermal efficiencies decline in a specific *** number,pressure drop,energy,and exergy efficiencies enhance with rising Reynolds number,although the friction coefficient *** maximum heat transfer enhancement is 57%.According to the evaluation of exergy efficiency,the greatest efficiency of 31.2%is obtained at Rh=1.4 and Reynolds number 22000.

Jean-Fran?ois Lyotard is indeed the most influential analyst and proponent of postmodernism. In his revelatory work, The Postmodern Condition: A Report on Knowledge, he treats narrative pragmatics and language games as the bases for a critical approach to postmodern art and politics, as well as to the questions of morality, justice, and legitimacy. He insists on the obligation of philosophy, politics and writing to bear witness to heterogeneity and to what is repressed or forgotten in all representations of the past. He challenges the limits of philosophy, aesthetics and political theory in terms of problems linked to the irreducible complexities of art and literature and the nonrepresentational affects of historical – political events.

The Ba3Y2（BO3）4：Eu^3＋ phosphor was synthesized using a high temperature solid-state reaction method and the luminescent characteristics were investigated. The emission spectrum exhibited one strong red emission at 613 nm, corresponding to the electric dipole 5D0-TF2 transition of Eu^3＋, under 365 nm excitation. The excitation spectrum of 613 nm indicated that the Ba3Y2（BO3）n：Eu^3＋ phosphor was effectively excited by ultraviolet （UV）（254, 365 and 400 nm） and blue （470 nm） light. The effect of Eu^3＋ concentration on the 613 nm emission of the Ba3Y2（BO3）n：Eu^3＋ phosphor was measured. The results showed that the emission intensity increased with increasing Eu^3＋ concentration, and then decreased. The CIE color coordinates of Ba3Y2（BO3）4：Eu^3＋ phosphor were x=0.641 and y=0.359 at 15 mol.% Eu^3＋.
