Atherosclerosis remains a great threat to human health *** studies found that tetramethylpyrazine(TMP)and paeonifl orin(PF)combination(TMP-PF)exerts anti-atherosclerotic effects in ***,whether TMP-PF improves atherosclerosis in vivo needs further *** present study aims to assess the anti-atherosclerotic properties of TMP-PF in ApoE^(-/-)mice and explore the related molecule *** showed that TMP and high-dose TMP-PF decreased serum triglyceride and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels,suppressed vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2(VEGFR2)and nuclear receptor subfamily 4 group A member 1(NR4A1)expression in aortic tissues,inhibited plaque angiogenesis,reduced plaque areas,and alleviated atherosclerosis in ApoE^(-/-)***,TMP-PF exhibited a better modulation effect than TMP or PF ***,NR4A1 agonist abolished the anti-atherosclerotic effects of *** conclusion,TMP-PF was first found to alleviate atherosclerosis progression by reducing hyperlipemia and inhibiting plaque angiogenesis via the NR4A1/VEGFR2 pathway,indicating that TMP-PF had a positive effect on reducing hyperlipemia and attenuating atherosclerosis development.

Background and Aims:Age-related mosaic chromosomal alterations(mCAs)detected from genotyping of blood-de-rived DNA are structural somatic variants that indicate clonal *** study aimed to investigate whether mCAs contribute to the risk of cirrhosis and modify the effect of a polygenic risk score(PRS)on cirrhosis risk ***:mCA call sets of individuals with European ancestry were obtained from the UK *** PRS was constructed based on 12 susceptible single-nucleotide poly-morphisms for *** proportional hazard models were applied to evaluate the associations between mCAs and cirrhosis ***:Among 448,645 individuals with a median follow-up of 12.5 years,we identified 2,681 cas-es of cirrhosis,1,775 cases of compensated cirrhosis,and 1,706 cases of decompensated *** to non-carriers,individuals with copy-neutral loss of heterozygosity mCAs had a significantly increased risk of cirrhosis(hazard ratio(HR)1.42,95%confidence interval(CI)1.12-1.81).This risk was higher in patients with expanded cell fractions of mCAs(cell fractions≥10%*** fractions<10%),especially for the risk of decompensated cirrhosis(HR 2.03[95%CI 1.09-3.78]vs.1.14[0.80-1.64]).In comparison to non-carriers of mCAs with low genetic risk,individuals with expanded copy-neutral loss of heterozygosity and high genetic risk showed the highest cirrhosis risk(HR5.39[95%CI 2.41-12.07]).Conclusions:The presence of mCAs is associated with increased susceptibility to cirrhosis risk and could be combined with PRS for personalized cirrhosis risk stratification.

The increasing prevalence of diabetes has become a global public health concern in the 21st *** 2021,it was estimated that 537 million people had diabetes,and this number is projected to reach 643 million by 2030,and 783 million by 2045[1].Such a huge burden of diabetes brings great challenges in its prevention and management,including early diagnosis,timely interventions,and regular monitoring of risk factor control and complications *** self-care support and patient empowerment can enhance clinical and psychobehavioural outcomes[2],although these require additional resources including manpower,infrastructure(hard and technology),and *** emergence of digital health technologies(DHTs),especially artificial intelligence(AI),may help address these obstacles and alleviate the burden of diabetes[3].Large language models(LLMs),a generative AI that can accept image and text inputs and produce text outputs,have shown promise in various aspects of medical care.

Background:With the rapid development of robotic surgery,especially for the abdominal surgery,robotic pancreatic surgery(RPS)has been applied increasingly around the ***,evidence-based guidelines regarding its application,safety,and efficacy are still *** harvest robust evidence and comprehensive clinical practice,this study aims to develop international guidelines on the use of ***:World health Organization(WHO)Handbook for Guideline Development,GRADE Grid method,Delphi vote,and the AGREE-II instrument were used to establish the Guideline Steering Group,Guideline Development Group,and Guideline Secretary Group,formulate 19 clinical questions,develop the recommendations,and draft the *** online meetings were held on 04/12/2020,30/11/2021,and 25/01/2022 to vote on the recommendations and get advice and suggestions from all involved *** the experts focusing on minimally invasive surgery from America,Europe and Oceania made great contributions to this consensus ***:After a systematic literature review 176 studies were included,19 questions were addressed and 14 recommendations were developed through the expert assessment and comprehensive judgment of the quality and credibility of the ***:The international RPS guidelines can guide current practice for surgeons,patients,medical societies,hospital administrators,and related social *** randomized trials are required to determine the added value of RPS as compared to open and laparoscopic surgery.

Background:Although overnight fasting is recommended prior to endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP),the benefits and safety of high-carbohydrate fluid diet(CFD)intake 2 h before ERCP remain *** study aimed to analyze whether high-CFD intake 2 h before ERCP can be safe and accelerate patients’***:This prospective,multicenter,randomized controlled trial involved 15 tertiary ERCP centers.A total of 1330 patients were randomized into CFD group(n=665)and fasting group(n=665).The CFD group received 400 mL of maltodextrin orally 2 h before ERCP,while the control group abstained from food/water overnight(>6 h)before *** ERCP procedures were performed using deep sedation with intravenous *** investigators were blinded but not the *** primary outcomes included postoperative fatigue and abdominal pain score,and the secondary outcomes included complications and changes in metabolic *** outcomes were analyzed according to a modified intention-to-treat ***:The post-ERCP fatigue scores were significantly lower at 4 h(4.1±2.6 vs.4.8±2.8,t=4.23,P<0.001)and 20 h(2.4±2.1 vs.3.4±2.4,t=7.94,P<0.001)in the CFD group,with least-squares mean differences of 0.48(95%confidence interval[CI]:0.26-0.71,P<0.001)and 0.76(95%CI:0.57-0.95,P<0.001),*** 4-h pain scores(2.1±1.7 vs.2.2±1.7,t=2.60,P=0.009,with a least-squares mean difference of 0.21[95%CI:0.05-0.37])and positive urine ketone levels(7.7%[39/509]vs.15.4%[82/533],χ^(2)=15.13,P<0.001)were lower in the CFD *** CFD group had significantly less cholangitis(2.1%[13/634]vs.4.0%[26/658],χ^(2)=3.99,P=0.046)but not pancreatitis(5.5%[35/634]vs.6.5%[43/658],χ^(2)=0.59,P=0.444).Subgroup analysis revealed that CFD reduced the incidence of complications in patients with native papilla(odds ratio[OR]:0.61,95%CI:0.39-0.95,P=0.028)in the multivariable ***:Ingesting 400 mL of CFD 2 h before ERCP is safe,with a reduction in post-ERCP fatigue,

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effect of acupuncture on the quality of life in patients with depression by clinical randomized single-blind placebo-controlled ***:one hundred and sixty-three cases of depression according with the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into a group of acupuncture dredging liver and regulating flow of theosophy(group 1),a group of acupoint shallow stab(group 2)and a group of non-acupoint shallow stab(group 3)at 1∶1∶1 ratio,and treated with acu-puncture,moxibustion,and intradermal embedding of needle,twice a week,for a total of 12 *** of Quality of Life(SF-36)was used to measure the scores at four different time points and evaluate the effect of acupuncture on the quality of life of the patients with ***:At each time point after treatment,in scores of the 8 items,physical function,physical role,bodily pain,general physical condition,energy,social function,emotional function and mental health there were statistically significant differences among the 3 groups(P<0.0125).CONCLUSION:Acupuncture can effectively improve the quality of life of patients with depression.

Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus(KSHV) is the infectious etiologic agent associated with Kaposi's sarcoma(KS), primary effusion lymphoma, and multicentric Castleman disease. It has been shown that high KSHV prevalence and high incidence of both classic KS and AIDSassociated KS are found mostly among people of Uygur ethnicity in Xinjiang, while people of Han ethnicity in Xinjiang have a higher KSHV seroprevalence than those of other Han populations in China's Mainland. However, it is still unclear why there is such geographical and population variation in KSHV distribution in China. In this work, we focused on the populations in the Kashgar region and Urumqi area, where a total of 1294 research subjects were randomly selected to investigate the potential correlation between KSHV prevalence and different ethnicities in endemic areas of Xinjiang, and to determine risk factors that may affect KSHV infection rates or KS incidence. We identified a high seroprevalence of KSHV and high peripheral blood DNA infection in the general Uygur and Han populations in both Urumqi and Kashgar regions of Xinjiang, and determined that advancing age, low education level, and stationary population status affect KSHV infection rates. Further, KSHV-positive Uygur participants were shown to have higher prevalence of neutralizing antibodies and neutralizing antibody titers than KSHV-positive Han participants.
