Clinical observation of white eye distribution in patients with hyperlipidemia: an artificial intelligence digital visual examination technique

Objective: To explore the clinical observation of white eye distribution characteristics of hyperlipidemic patients based on artificial intelligence digital eye diagnosis technology. Methods: One hundred and fifty subjects were examined in the outpatient and inpatient departments of Guang'anmen Hospital of the China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine from 01 February 2022 to 01 February 2023， including 80 cases in the hyperlipidemic patient (HLP) group and 70 cases in the normal lipid level patient (NC) group. The two groups were collected and extracted by the artificial intelligence visual diagnostic instrument and analyzed by the MyEyeD-10 white eye shadowless imaging health intelligence analysis system. Finally， SPSS 26.0 (Version X; IBM Corp.， Armonk， NY， USA) was used for statistical processing. Results: Significant differences were noted in the scores of "spot" and "foggy" features between the two groups. Between groups， the "spot" feature score of the white eye morphology in the HLP group (11.07 ± 3.22) was higher than that in the NC group (7.50 ± 4.11) (P < 0.01). Moreover， the "foggy" feature score of the eye morphology in the HLP group (8.37 ± 2.25) was higher than that in the NC group (P < 0.01)， higher than that of the NC group (5.72 ± 1.21) (P < 0.05). There were significant differences in the "A" (stomach)， "B"， "O" (spleen)， and "M" (liver) eye-contact region scores between the two groups， and the "B"， "O" (spleen) and "M" (liver) eye-contact region scores were significantly different. The scores of the white eye channel region in the HLP group were significantly higher than those in the control group， with the "A"， "B"， and "O" regions (P < 0.01)， "M" region (P < 0.01)， "A"， "B"， "O"， and "M" region (P < 0.01). Background:Platinum chemotherapy (CT) remains the backbone of systemic therapy for patients with small-cell lung cancer (SCLC). The nucleotide excision repair (NER) pathway plays a central role in the repair of the DNA damage exerted by platinum agents. Alteration in this repair mechanism may affect patients' survival.Materials and Methods:We conducted a retrospective analysis of data from 38 patients with extensive disease (ED)-SCLC who underwent platinum-CT at the Clinical Oncology Unit, Careggi University Hospital, Florence (Italy), from 2015 to 2020. mRNA expression analysis and single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) characterization of three NER pathway genes-namely , , and -were performed on patient tumor samples.Results:Overall, elevated expression of genes was observed in SCLC patients compared to healthy controls. Patients with low and expression levels exhibited a better median progression-free survival (mPFS = 7.1 . 4.9 months, = 0.39 for and mPFS = 6.9 . 4.8 months, = 0.093 for ) and overall survival (mOS = 8.7 . 6.0 months, = 0.4 for and mOS = 7.2 . 6.2 months, = 0.13 for ). Genotyping analysis of five SNPs of genes showed a longer survival in patients harboring the wild-type genotype or the heterozygous variant of the rs11615 SNP ( = 0.24 for PFS and = 0.14 for OS) and of the rs13181 and rs1799793 SNPs ( = 0.43 and = 0.26 for PFS and = 0.21 and = 0.16 for OS, respectively) compared to patients with homozygous mutant genotypes.Conclusions:The comprehensive analysis of gene expression and SNP variants appears to identify patients who derive greater survival benefits from platinum-CT.

The current single-atom catalysts(SACs)for medicine still suffer from the limited active site ***,we develop a synthetic method capable of increasing both the metal loading and mass-specific activity of SACs by exchanging zinc with *** constructed iron SACs(h^(3)-FNC)with a high metal loading of 6.27 wt%and an optimized adjacent Fe distance of~4 A exhibit excellent oxidase-like catalytic performance without significant activity decay after being stored for six months and promising antibacterial ***,a“density effect”has been found at a high-enough metal doping amount,at which individual active sites become close enough to interact with each other and alter the electronic structure,resulting in significantly boosted intrinsic activity of single-atomic iron sites in h^(3)-FNCs by 2.3 times compared to low-and medium-loading ***,the overall catalytic activity of h^(3)-FNC is highly improved,with mass activity and metal mass-specific activity that are,respectively,66 and 315 times higher than those of commercial Pt/*** addition,h^(3)-FNCs demonstrate efficiently enhanced capability in catalyzing oxygen reduction into superoxide anion(O_(2)·^(−))and glutathione(GSH)*** in vitro and in vivo assays demonstrate the superior antibacterial efficacy of h^(3)-FNCs in promoting wound *** work presents an intriguing activity-enhancement effect in catalysts and exhibits impressive therapeutic efficacy in combating bacterial infections.

Following myocardial infarction(MI), cardiomyocytes and infarct size are the focus of our attention when evaluating the extent of cardiac injury, efficacy of therapies or success in repairing the damaged heart by stem cell therapy. Numerous interventions have been shown by pre-clinical studies to be effective in limiting infarct size, and yet clinical trials designed accordingly have yielded disappointing outcomes. The ultimate goal of cardiac protection is to limit the adverse cardiac remodeling. Accumulating studies have revealed that post-infarct remodeling can be attenuated without infarct size limitation. To reconcile this, one needs to appreciate the significance of various cellular and acellular myocardial components that, like cardiomyocytes, undergo significant damage and dysfunction, which impact the ultimate cardiac injury and remodelling. Microvascular injury following ischemia-reperfusion may influence infarct size and promote inflammation. Myocardial injury evokes innate immunity with massive inflammatory infiltration that, although essential for the healing process, exacerbates myocardial injury and damage to extracellular matrix leading to dilative remodeling. It is also important to consider the multiple non-cardiomyocyte components in evaluating therapeutic efficacy. Current research indicates the pivotal role of these components in achieving cardiac regeneration by cell therapy. This review summarizes findings in this field, highlights a broad consideration of therapeutic targets,and recommends cardiac remodeling as the ultimate target.

This editorial examines a recent study that used radiomics based on computed tomography(CT)to predict the expression of the fibroblast-related gene enhancer of zeste homolog 2(EZH2)and its correlation with the survival of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).By integrating radiomics with molecular analysis,the study presented a strategy for accurately predicting the expression of EZH2 from CT *** findings demonstrated a strong link between the radiomics model,EZH2 expression,and patient *** noninvasive approach provides valuable insights into the therapeutic management of HCC.
