Assessment of plant diversity of endemic species of the Saharo-Arabian region in Egypt

Savanna, semi-deserts, and hot deserts characterize the Saharo-Arabian region, which includes Morocco, Mauretania, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Palestine, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Yemen, southern Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and northern India. Its neighboring regions, the Sudano-Zambezian region belonging to the Paleotropical Kingdom and the Mediterranean and Irano-Turanian regions included in the Holarctic Kingdom, share a large portion of their flora with the Saharo-Arabian region. Despite the widespread acknowledgment of the region's global importance for plant diversity, an up to date list of the Saharo-Arabian endemics is still unavailable. The available data are frequently insufficient or out of date at both the whole global and the national scales. Therefore, the present study aims at screening and verifying the Saharo-Arabian endemic plants and determining the phytogeographical distribution of these taxa in the Egyptian flora. Hence, a preliminary list of 429 Saharo-Arabian endemic plants in Egypt was compiled from the available literature. Indeed, by excluding the species that were recorded in any countries or regions outside the Saharo-Arabian region based on different literature, database reviews, and websites, the present study has reduced this number to 126 taxa belonging to 87 genera and 37 families. Regarding the national geographic distribution, South Sinai is the richest region with 83 endemic species compared with other eight phytogeographic regions in Egypt, followed by the Isthmic Desert(the middle of Sinai Peninsula, 53 taxa). Sahara regional subzone(SS1) distributes all the 126 endemic species, Arabian regional subzone(SS2) owns 79 taxa, and Nubo-Sindian subzone(SS3) distributes only 14 endemics. Non-thermal atmospheric-pressure positive pulsating corona discharge in degradation of textile dye Reactive Blue 19 enhanced by Bi_(2)O_(3) catalyst

In this work,monoclinic Bi_(2)O_(3) was applied for the first time,to the best of our knowledge,as a catalyst in the process of dye degradation by a non-thermal atmospheric-pressure positive pulsating corona *** research focused on the interaction of the plasma-generated species and the catalyst,as well as the role of the catalyst in the degradation *** decomposition of the anthraquinone reactive dye Reactive Blue 19(RB 19) was performed in a selfmade reactor ***_(2)O_(3) was prepared by electrodeposition followed by thermal treatment,and characterized by x-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive xray *** was observed that the catalyst promoted decomposition of plasma-generated H_(2)O_(2) into ·OH radicals,the principal dye-degrading reagent,which further attacked the dye *** catalyst improved the decolorization rate by 2.5 times,the energy yield by 93.4%and total organic carbon removal by 7.1%.Excitation of the catalyst mostly occurred through strikes by plasma-generated reactive ions and radical species from the air,accelerated by the electric field,as well as by fast electrons with an energy of up to 15 eV generated by the streamers reaching the liquid *** strikes transferred the energy to the catalyst and created the electrons and holes,which further reacted with H_(2)O_(2) and water,producing ·OH *** was indentified as the primary role of the catalyst in this *** reactions followed pseudo first-order *** of H_(2)O_(2) and the dye degradation rate increased with increase in the input *** optimal catalyst dose was 500 mg·dm^(-3).The decolorization rate was a little lower in river water compared with that in deionized water due to the side reactions of ·OH radicals with organic matter and inorganic ions dissolved in the river water.

Quantum correlations that surpass entanglement are of great importance in the realms of quantum information processing and quantum ***,for quantum systems prepared in pure states,it is difficult to differentiate between quantum entanglement and quantum ***,this indistinguishability is no longer holds for mixed *** contribute to a better understanding of this differentiation,we have explored a simple model for both generating and measuring these quantum *** study concerns two macroscopic mechanical resonators placed in separate Fabry–Pérot cavities,coupled through the photon hopping *** system offers a comprehensively way to investigate and quantify quantum correlations beyond entanglement between these mechanical *** key ingredient in analyzing quantum correlation in this system is the global covariance *** forms the basis for computing two essential metrics:the logarithmic negativity(E_(N)^(m))and the Gaussian interferometric power(P_(G)^(m)).These metrics provide the tools to measure the degree of quantum entanglement and quantum correlations,*** study reveals that the Gaussian interferometric power(P_(G)^(m))proves to be a more suitable metric for characterizing quantum correlations among the mechanical modes in an optomechanical quantum system,particularly in scenarios featuring resilient photon hopping.

Assessment of phytochemicals, antioxidant, anti-hemolytic, anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer potential of flowers, leaves and stem extracts of Rosa arvensis

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate phytochemicals and in vitro biological potential of flowers, leaves and stem extracts of Rosa arvensis. METHODS: Presence of twenty secondary metabolites was confirmed and then phenolic and flavonoid contents were quantified spectrophotometrically. Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy was conducted to ascertain functional groups and antioxidant potential was examined using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl scavenging activity, total antioxidant capacity and total reducing power *** erythrocytes were used to assess anti-hemolytic activity and five bacterial strains were examined to determine antibacterial potential of plant extracts. Radish seeds were used to perform phytotoxic activity and cytotoxic potential was evaluated via brine shrimps and PC3 cell lines. RESULTS: Highest phenolic contents were detected in the methanolic extract of Rosa arvensis flower（RAFM） [（151.635 ± 0.005） gallic acid equivalent mg/g] and highest flavonoid contents in the chloroform leaf extract（RALC） [（108.228 ± 0.004） quercetin equivalent mg/g]. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy analysis showed the presence of wide range of functional groups. The antioxidant assays indicated highest DPPH scavenging activity [IC50（23.5 ± 0.6） μg/mL] in the methanolic stem extract（RASM）, highest total antioxidant capacity [（265.1 ± 0.9） μg/mL] in RAFM and highest reducing potential [（209.9 ± 0.6） μg/mL] in leaf extract（RALM）. Highest antihemolytic activity [（90.0 ± 0.5） μg/mL] was recorded in RAFM and brine shrimp cytotoxicity potential [（52.3 ± 0.3） μg/mL] in RASM. The antimicrobial activity was detected highest [（21.1 ± 0.5） mm inhibition zones] in RALM against Streptococcus aureus. In the end, antiinflammatory and anti-cancer activity results depicted less than 50 % inhibition in the methanolic extracts. Design of an automated robotic microinjection system for batch injection of zebrafish embryos and larvae

This paper presents the design of a vision-based automated robotic microinjection system for batch injection of both zebrafish embryos and larvae.A novel visual recognition algorithm based on an automatic threshold and excessive dilatation is introduced to accurately identify the center of zebrafish embryos and larval yolks.A corresponding software system is developed using the producer-consumer model as the framework structure,and a friendly user interface is designed to allow operators to choose from a range of desired functions according to their different *** addition,a novel microstructural agarose device is designed and fabricated to simultaneously immobilize mixed batches of embryos and ***,a prototype microinjection system is fabricated by integrating hardware devices with visual *** experimental study is conducted to verify the performance of the robotic microinjection *** results show that the reported system can accurately identify zebrafish embryos and larvae and efficiently complete batch microinjection tasks of the mixtures with an injection success rate of 92.05%in 13.88 s per *** with manual and existing microinjection systems,the proposed system demonstrates the merits of versatility,excellent efficiency,high success rate,high survival rate,and sufficient stability.

Higgs-like(pseudo)scalars in AdS_(4),marginal and irrelevant deformations in CFT_(3),and instantons on S^(3)

Employing a 4-form ansatz of 11-dimensional supergravity over a non-dynamical AdS_(4)×S^(7)/Z_(k)background and setting the internal space as an S1 Hopf fibration on CP3,we obtain a consistent ***(pseudo)scalars,in the resulting scalar equations in Euclidean AdS_(4)space,may be considered to arise from(anti)M-branes wrapping around the internal directions in the(Wick-rotated)skew-whiffed M2-brane background(as the resulting theory is for anti-M2-branes),thus realizing the modes after swapping the three fundamental representations 8_(s),8_(c),and 8_(v) of SO(8).Taking the backreaction on the external and internal spaces,we obtain the massless and massive modes,corresponding to exactly marginal and marginally irrelevant deformations on the boundary CFT3,***,we obtain a closed solution for the bulk equation and compute its correction with respect to the background ***,considering the Higgs-like(breathing)mode m^(2)=18,having all supersymmetries as well as parity and scale-invariance broken,solving the associated bulk equation with mathematical methods,specifically the Adomian decomposition method,and analyzing the behavior near the boundary of the solutions,we realize the boundary duals in the SU(4)×U(1)-singlet sectors of the ABJM ***,introducing the new dual deformationΔ_(+)=3,6 operators made of bi-fundamental scalars,fermions,and U(1)gauge fields,we obtain the SO(4)-invariant solutions as small instantons on a three-sphere with the radius at infinity,which correspond to collapsing bulk bubbles leading to big-crunch singularities.

Kink-band Kinematic Analysis and its Implications for Late-stage Deformation in the Internal Parts of the Zagros Collision(Sanandaj–Sirjan Zone) in West Iran

In the internal parts of the Zagros collision zone, several deformation phases have been superimposed. The early deformation phase caused the development of a penetrative foliation. The late-stage deformation phase was preferentially accommodated within shear zones and caused the generation of shear bands, implying a non-coaxial component of deformation, the end of this stage deformation was marked by the development of kink-bands. In the vicinity of Zagros suture zone, the kink angle increased from 40° to 60°, and the kink-bands was converted to chevron folds. In this region, the external(α) and internal(β) angular ratio is α/β ≠ 1 and kink angle increased, and deformation occurred with 10% to 30% volume loss. Farther from the suture zone in the east, α/β = 1;and total volume was constant or increased by 5% to 10%. Kink-bands kinematic analysis in the study area revealed this structures were sensitive to deformation conditions and components such that, with decreasing distance to the Zagros suture zone, shearing and rotation increased, a high kinematic vorticity dominated, and volume loss occurred during deformation.

Differential roles of seed and sprout regeneration in forest diversity and productivity after disturbance
