Men who have sex with men （MSM） are at high risk for infection with human immunodeficiency virus type 1 （HIV-1） because of risk behaviors such as multiple partners and unprotected anal intercourse （UAI）. Approximately 5% to 10% of all new HIV-1 infections are transmitted by male homosexual behaviors globally.1 The HIV epidemic in China is currently spreading from high risk groups to the general population.

Background:The incidence of brucellosis,which is caused by the Brucella species of bacteria,is rapidly rising worldwide;however,few studies have investigated the immune response to this pathogen and clinical biochemical *** this paper,we examined the levels of various cytokines and inflammatory factors as well as clinical course characteristics in patients with brucellosis,in order to provide evidence for the diagnosis,assessment,and prognosis of this infectious ***:A total of 191 brucellosis inpatients(50 acute cases and 141 chronic cases),as well as 60 healthy control subjects,were included in the *** investigated changes in the levels of six cytokines(IL-4,IL-6,IL-10,IL-17,TNF-α,INF-γ)and related clinical biochemical markers in patients with acute and chronic brucellosis in Xinjiang,*** factors were statistically analyzed using the t test,χ2 test,z test and a multivariate logistic stepwise regression ***:We found that IL-4,IL-6,IL-10,IL-17,IFN-γ,and TNF-αlevels were higher in those with brucellosis than in controls(P<0.05).With regard to disease progression,procalcitonin(PCT)and C-reactive protein(CRP)levels were significantly higher in those with an acute infection compared to chronic cases(P<0.05).We found that the expression of all six cytokines tested was closely related to the degree of brucellosis using univariate logistic regression;however,only IL-6 and INF-γlevels were independent factors associated with the severity of ***:Assessing cytokine levels in patients with acute and chronic brucellosis is not only useful for detecting the immune response,but can also be indicative of the severity of *** particular,we propose IL-6 and INF-γlevels may be useful independent predictive factors in the clinical evaluation and diagnosis of brucellosis.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the prevalence and influencing factors of hyperlipidemia among HIV/aids patients with second-line antiretroviral therapy(ART) in the high incidence area of aids in Henan province of ***:The standard medical record registers in Henan Province was used as the data source to collect the information of HIV/aids patients with second-line ART in *** was hyperlipidemia was defined according to the 2016 Chinese guidelines for the management of dyslipidemia in *** regression for univariate and multivariate analysis to explore the influencing factors of hyperlipidemia among HIV/aids patients with second-line *** results showed as odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(CI).RESULTS:A total of 2886 HIV/aids patients with second-line ART were included in this study,of which 978 patients were hyperlipidemia(33.9%).Patients with female,hyperglycemia,and CD4 cell count greater than 500 cells/μL had a higher prevalence of hyperlipidemia,which were 37.0%,49.0% and 41.3%,*** analysis showed that CD4 cell count of 350-500 cells/μL(OR=1.72,95%CI :1.26,2.38),CD4 cell count of more than 500 cells/μL(OR=2.49,95%CI :1.85,3.38) and glucose > of 6.2mmol/L(OR=2.08,95%CI :1.64,2.65) were all related risk factors for hyperlipidemia,with statistical significance(Paids patients with second-line ART had a higher prevalence of ***,CD4 cell count,glucose > 6.2mmol/L and hemoglobin < 110g/L were the influencing factors of ***,due to the limitations of the retrospective study,the results may be biased,so it is necessary to conduct a prospective study to confirm.

HIV-indeterminate Western blotting(WB)results are typically obtained in WB confirmatory assays,and the number of indeterminate samples may increase with the detection of HIV infections,which will present considerable challenges for the management of HIV/*** acid detection has been used as a laboratory test for screening suspected or indeterminate ***,the effectiveness of these assays for the differential diagnosis of HIV-indeterminate WB samples remained *** this study,210 subjects with HIV-indeterminate WB results were detected from 6360 positive HIV screening samples between 2015 and 2016 in southeastern China,in which HIV-indeterminate WB results accounted for 3.30%.The highest proportion of indeterminate results was observed in pregnant and lying-in women receiving physical examinations(16.67%),followed by that in voluntary blood donors(8.82%).The most common WB band patterns were p24,gpl60 and p24,and *** follow-up study revealed that the highest negative and positive conversion rates of HIV antibodies were in samples with a single p24 band(80.28%),and with gpl60 and p24 bands(86.21%),*** the Env,Gag,and Pol antibodies,samples with a Gag band showed the highest negative conversion rate(81.25%),whereas the highest positive conversion rate was observed in samples with an Env band(56.76%).In addition,quantitative and qualitative HIV nucleic acid testing exhibited the highest sensitivity(96.3%)and specificity(97.85%),*** results indicate a lower proportion of HIV indeterminate WB results in southeastern China compared to previous reports,and the follow-up re-examination of patients with HIV indeterminate results should be *** acid testing facilitates the identification of HIV infections.

Characterization of Class 1 Integron Gene Cassettes among Clinical Bacteria Isolated from One Large Hospital in Northern China

The class 1 integron and complex gene cassettes among different species of clinical isolates in northern China were characterized in this study. 383 clinical isolates were obtained from northern China, and class 1 integrons containing gene cassettes widely distributed among gram negative clinical isolates was observed. We find that the class 1 integron showed positive correlation with multidrug resistance phenotype of gram negative bacteria. In addition, we find that isolates belonged to one species harbored different types of gene cassette arrays, while same types of gene cassette arrays were observed in different species of isolates. The diversity of gene cassette arrays among the isolates indicated the complexity of multidrug resistance in clinical isolates in northern China.

SARS-CoV-2 mutations contribute to increased viral transmissibility and immune escape,compromising the effectiveness of existing vaccines and neutralizing *** in-depth investigation on COVID-19 pathogenesis is urgently needed to develop a strategy against SARS-CoV-2 ***,we identified CD147 as a universal receptor for SARS-CoV-2 and its ***,Meplazeumab,a humanized anti-CD147 antibody,could block cellular entry of SARS-CoV-2 and its variants-alpha,beta,gamma,and delta,with inhibition rates of 68.7,75.7,52.1,52.1,and 62.3%at 60μg/ml,***,humanized CD147 transgenic mice were susceptible to SARS-CoV-2 and its two variants,alpha and *** infected,these mice developed exudative alveolar pneumonia,featured by immune responses involving alveoli-infiltrated macrophages,neutrophils,and lymphocytes and activation of IL-17 signaling ***,we proposed that severe COVID-19-related cytokine storm is induced by a"spike protein-CD147-CyPA signaling axis":Infection of SARS-CoV-2 through CD147 initiated the JAK-STAT pathway,which further induced expression of cyclophilin A(CyPA);CyPA reciprocally bound to CD147 and triggered MAPK ***,the MAPK pathway regulated the expression of cytokines and chemokines,which promoted the development of cytokine ***,Meplazumab could effectively inhibit viral entry and inflammation caused by SARS-CoV-2 and its ***,our findings provided a new perspective for severe COVID-19-related ***,the validated universal receptor for SARS-CoV-2 and its variants can be targeted for COVID-19 treatment.

Twenty-six novel tricyclic sophoridinic and matrinic derivatives containing a common chlorinated benzene fragment were designed, synthesized and evaluated for their anti-ebolavirus(EBOV)activities. Structure–activity relationship analysis indicated:(i) 12 N-dichlorobenzyl motif was beneficial for the activity;(ii) the chiral configuration at C5 atom might not affect the activity much. Among the target compounds, compound 7d exhibited the most potent potency against EBOV with an IC_(50) value of 5.29 μmol/L and an SI value of over 37.8. Further in vivo anti-EBOV assay of 7d identified its high effectiveness, and in vivo anti-MARV assay of 7d suggested its inspiring broad-spectrum anti-filovirus activity. The results provided powerful information on further strategic optimization and development of this kind of compounds against filoviruses.
