Oral language proficiency is vital for language learners because it is eventually the skill they mostly use （Warschauer, 1997）. Oral interactions account for the bulk of our everyday communications that remain the primary mode of discourse through out the world （Peregoy ＆ Boyle, 2005）. It is without question that the development of oral language skill in second or foreign language learners is of major importance. In addition, English writing course has been found to be one of the most difficult subjects for most ESL/EFL English teachers （Tso, 2002; Hung, 2003）. For many ESL/EFL learners, even writing short sentences is a difficult task for them. Up till now, researchers and educators are still searching for the best cure for those problems. With the help of highly developing technology, there have been many tools such as online chat room and referential websites that give ESL/EFL teachers other opportunities to promote the use of written and oral language to communicate in an authentic way. This article will focus on the use of artificial intelligence in language teaching and learning. The application of artificial intelligence has been found in different areas, such as engineering and medical field. Artificial intelligence has been employed in language teaching as well. A large number of studies have shown that computers and Internet are effective media for language teaching and learning （Van Handle ＆ Cod, 1998; Sebastian, 2003）. In this paper, it will briefly introduce the history of artificial intelligence and show some instructional activities of using an artificial intelligence program, Lucy, especially in integrating oral practice and writing activities for beginning learners.

Reprogramming mature terminally differentiated adipocytes to induced pluripotent stem cells

Mature adipocytes are terminally differentiated somatic cells. Here, we report the successful generation of induced pluripotent stem （iPS） cells from mouse mature adipocytes by forced expression of six transcription factors （Oct4, Sox2, c-Myc, Klf4, Rarγ, and Lrh1） with a piggyBac transposon-based strategy. The resulting iPS cells were pluripotent as evidenced by the fact that they stained positive for alkaline phosphatase, expressed high levels of key pluripotency markers including Oct4, Nanog, and SSEA1, and remained pluripotent on a 2i media. In vitro differen- tiation of the iPS cells showed that the cell derivatives of all three germ layers could be readily obtained through forma- tion of embryoid bodies. Most importantly, these adipocyte- derived iPS cells were capable of producing chimera with high frequencies when reintroduced into early-stage em- bryos and transmitted through the germ line. This study demonstrates that the new six-factor reprogramming tech- nology facilitates the reset of the terminally differentiated adipocytes to the ground state of pluripotency, enabling us to fully explore the potential of mature adipocytes as a viable cell source for regenerative medicine.

While images are central to the discipline of art history, surprisingly little research has been conducted on the uses of digital environments for teaching in the discipline. Over the past decade, more studies have emerged considering the egalitarian space that can be used by students and teachers in web-based applications and social media. A body of literature has begun to emerge out of a small network of scholars and educators interested in digital humanities and art history, providing examples of how new tools can be integrated into the standard slideshow and lecture format of the field. At the same time, the latest technology that proves revolutionary for the field has had very little study-virtual reality (VR). Additionally, sensory evidence for digital art history and the creation of immersive interactive and multimodal environments for knowledge production is still underexplored. As multiple educational metaverses are currently under development, understanding best practices and pedagogical use of VR has never been timelier. This study seeks to review the pedagogical use of VR in art history current in the field and introduces results from a study of the most effective ways to use these immersive experiences using Bloom’s revised taxonomy. Results confirm that the most effective method to structure VR assignments is to provide training on the technology, provide students with the necessary instructional material to introduce the concept, skill or technique to be learned, create or select an immersive experience that reinforces that topic, and conclude with a debrief or discussion about major takeaways from the experience.

The massive technological advancements around the world have created significant challenging competition among companies where each of the companies tries to attract the customers using different techniques. One of the recent tech- niques is Augmented Reality (AR). The AR is a new technology which is capable of presenting possibilities that are difficult for other technologies to offer and meet. Nowadays, numerous augmented reality applications have been used in the industry of different kinds and disseminated all over the world. AR will really alter the way individuals view the world. The AR is yet in its initial phases of research and development at different colleges and high-tech institutes. Throughout the last years, AR apps became transportable and generally available on various devices. Besides, AR be- gins to occupy its place in our audio-visual media and to be used in various fields in our life in tangible and exciting ways such as news, sports and is used in many domains in our life such as electronic commerce, promotion, design, and business. In addition, AR is used to facilitate the learning whereas it enables students to access location-specific infor- mation provided through various sources. Such growth and spread of AR applications pushes organizations to compete one another, every one of them exerts its best to gain the customers. This paper provides a comprehensive study of AR including its history, architecture, applications, current challenges and future trends.

To commercialize fuel cells and metal-air batteries, cost-effective, highly active catalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction （ORR） must be developed. Herein, we describe the development of low-cost, heteroatom （N, P, Fe） ternary-doped, porous carbons （HDPC）. These materials are prepared by one-step pyrolysis of natural tea leaves treated with an iron salt, without any chemical and physical activation. The natural structure of the tea leaves provide a 3D hierarchical porous structure after carbonization. Moreover, heteroatom containing organic compounds in tea leaves act as precursors to functionalize the resultant carbon frameworks. In addition, we found that the polyphenols present in tea leaves act as ligands, reacting with Fe ions to form coordination compounds; these complexes acted as the precursors for Fe and N active sites. After pyrolysis, the as-prepared HDPC electrocatalysts, especially HDPC-800 （pyrolyzed at 800℃）, had more positive onsets, half-wave potentials, and higher catalytic activities for the ORR, which proceeds via a direct four-electron reaction pathway in alkaline media, similar to commercial Pt/C catalysts. Furthermore, HDPC-X also showed enhanced durability and better tolerance to methanol crossover and CO poisoning effects in comparison to commercial Pt/C, making them promising alternatives for state-of-the-art ORR electrocatalysts for electrochemical energy conversion. The method used here provides valuable guidelines for the design of high-performance ORR electrocatalysts from natural sources at the industrial scale.

with the rapid development of hi-tech at present, the college English curriculum teaching of higher education in our country faces an inevitable deep reform and innovation. In order to effectively improve the English application ability of undergraduates, this paper analyzes the integration of interpersonal teaching and man-machine teaching in college English, illustrates the connotation and the current situation of interpersonal and man-machine teaching and makes deep research of integration of these two teaching modes. The author proposes to fully exert the features and advantages of interpersonal teaching and multi-media teaching and hopes to improve the teaching quality of college English through the analysis and research of this paper.
