Introduction: The objective of this work was to study maternal deaths noted on arrival in the Gynecology and Obstetrics department at Fousseyni Daou Hospital in Kayes over a period of 10 years. Materials and Methods: This was a cross-sectional, descriptive study with data collection over a period of 10 years;The data collection was retrospective over nine years from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2021 and prospective over one year from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022. This study focused on all patients whose death was noted on arrival during pregnancy, labor or in the postpartum period in the Gynecology-Obstetrics department of Fousseyni Daou Hospital. Confidentiality and anonymity were respected. The processing and analysis of statistical data were carried out using SPSS 20.0 software. Results: During the study period, we recorded 93 cases of death noted on arrival out of a total of 606 maternal deaths, i.e., a frequency of 15.34%. The average age was 27 years with the extremes of 20 years and 34 years. They came mainly from rural areas at 74%, were married at 82%, uneducated at 51.6%, housewives at 87.1%. The profession of the spouses is worker at 37.6%. In our sample, evacuated patients were the most represented with 75.3%. Postpartum hemorrhage was the most frequent reason for admission with 22.6%. The deceased patients had no medical history at 86%. In our series, 59.5% of the deceased patients had not had antenatal consultations (CPN). Patients who died on arrival and who had given birth at home were the most represented with 54.8%. Deaths from immediate postpartum hemorrhage complicated by shock were the most frequent with 25.8% followed by severe anemia 8.6%. Deaths were mainly due to direct obstetric causes at 76.3%. In these deaths observed on arrival, the 2nd delay was identified at 48.4%. Conclusion: Maternal deaths observed on arrival remain frequent in the Kayes region. Association between Non-high-density Lipoprotein Cholesterol to High-density Lipoprotein Cholesterol Ratio(NHHR)and Stroke among Adults in the USA:A Cross-Sectional NHANES Study

A Simulation Study to Assess Impacts of Habitat-Dependent Parameters of Surplus Production Model on Stock Assessment of Chilean Jack Mackerel in the Southeast Pacific Ocean

Toxic effects in terms of mitochondria and hereditary substances have been characterized in vitro for individual rare earth elements,while,the joint effects of mixed elements exposure in the population remain *** on the Occupational Chromate Exposure Dynamic Cohort of China,this study investigated the relationship between 15 blood rare earth elements(cerium,dysprosium,erbium,europium,gadolinium,holmium,lanthanum,lutetium,neodymium,praseodymium,samarium,terbium,thulium,yttrium,and ytterbium)and mitochondrial DNA copy number(MtDNACN)as well as peripheral blood lymphocyte micronucleus frequency(MNF).The elastic net was used to select elements highly correlated with effect indicators,whose dose-response relationships were further illustrated by restricted cubic *** kernel regressionwas employed to explore the combined effects of elements and the contributions of single *** results showed that most rare earth elementswere positively correlatedwith effect indicators,with yttrium showing the strongest association(β(95%CI):0.139(0.1089–0.189)for MtDNACN,0.937(0.345–1.684)for MNF).In the mixed exposure model,with the exposure level fixed at the 50th percentile as the reference,the effect estimates on MtDNACN and MNF increased by 0.228 and 0.598 units,respectively,at the 75th *** single effect analysis implied that yttrium,lanthanum and terbium contributed the most to the elevation of MtDNACN,while yttrium posed the highest risk for genetic damage,accordingly,we provided recommendations to prioritize these elements of *** addition,we observed a chief mediating effect of MtDNACN on the elevation of MNF caused by lanthanum,whereas further mechanistic exploration is required to confirm this finding.

The purpose of this research was to evaluate radiological safety in pediatric radiology in hospitals in the Kongo Central province of the DRC. To this end, we surveyed a convenience sample of 50 health professionals, including 10 radiologists working in the hospitals covered by the survey, to assess the practice of pediatric radiology and the degree of compliance with radiation protection principles for the safety of children and the environment. We collected radiophysical parameters to calculate entrance doses in pediatric radiology in radiology departments to determine the dosimetric level by comparison with the diagnostic reference levels of the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP). All in all, we found that in Kongo Central in the DRC, many health personnel surveyed reported that more than 30% of requested radiological examinations are not justified. Also, after comparing the entrance doses produced in the surveyed departments with those of the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP), a statistically significant difference was found in pediatric radiology between the average doses in five out of six surveyed departments and those of the ICRP. Therefore, almost all of the surveyed departments were found to be highly irradiating in children, while excessive X-ray irradiation in children can have significant effects due to their increased sensitivity to radiation. Among the risks are: increased cancer risks, damage to developing cells, potential genetic effects, and neurological effects. This is why support for implementing radiation protection principles is a necessity to promote the safety of patients and the environment against the harmful effects of X-rays in conventional radiology.

Association between measles antibodies in vaccinated and naturally infected mothers with protective antibodies and the occurrence of measles in their children:A cross-sectional study in the Bavi district of Hanoi

Objective:To determine the concentration and rate of decay of maternal IgG antibodies against measles prevalence in infants of vaccinated or naturally infected mothers and study initial measles immunization occurs in nine-month-old ***:In total,401 pregnant women and the same number of their subsequent newborns were recruited in the Bavi district of Hanoi in 2016-2017;they were divided into two groups:Older women(born before 1985,n=201)and younger women(born after 1990,n=200).Samples were collected at five time-points;week 36 of pregnancy,birth(cord),and 3,6,and 9 months after ***-specific IgG antibody levels were ***:In total,77.06% of the 401 pregnant women were seropositive for measles-specific IgG antibodies.A significantly greater proportion of mothers aged 30 and older(88.06%)and their newborn(93.53%)were seropositive compared to the mothers aged 25 and younger(66.00%),and their newborn(72.00%)(P<0.001).The infants of older mothers had significantly higher geometric mean titres(GMT)of measles IgG antibodies than the infants of younger mothers(P<0.001)at all time-points of the study *** proportion of measles IgG antibodies together with GMT decreased from 82.97%(506.96)at the age of three months to 23.19%(45.22)at the age of nine ***:This study provides a profile of maternal antibodies against measles in Vietnamese infants and investigates the early susceptibility to measles in both the infants of vaccinated mothers and mothers with naturally acquired *** data suggest that determining the appropriate age for measles vaccination is paramount for the elimination of measles in Vietnam.
