Cholangiocarcinoma(CCA)is a highly aggressive biliary tree malignancy with intrahepatic and extra-hepatic sub-types that differ in molecular pathogeneses,epidemiology,clinical manifestations,treatment,and prognosis.The over-all prognosis and patient survival remains poor because of lack of early diagnosis and effective treatments.Preclini-cal in vivo studies have become increasingly paramount as they are helpful not only for the study of the fundamental molecular mechanisms of CCA but also for developing novel and effective therapeutic approaches of this fatal cancer.Recent advancements in cell and molecular biology have made it possible to mimic the pathogenicity of human CCA in chemical-mechanical,infection-induced inflammatory,implantation,and genetically engineered animal models.This review is intended to help investigators understand the particular strengths and weaknesses of the currently used in vivo animal models of human CCA and their related mod-eling techniques to aid in the selection of the one that is the best for their research needs.

The electrocrystalliztion nucleation and growth process of Ni-Fe alloy was studied using cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry. The results show that, in the case of high deposition overpotential, the nucleation/growth process of Ni-Fe binary alloy is 3-D instantaneous, and the growth rate of the previously formed nuclei increases with overpotential. However, at low overpotential, no distinguished nucleation current can be observed.Meanwhile, the discrepancy between the experimental non-dimensional variables(I/Im)2 and those calculated from the theoretical model was elucidated in the light of the molecular orbital theorem.

Effects of surface modification on electrochemical performance of MnO_2

The MnO2 samples coated with Ca（OH）2 were prepared by a liquid-phase surface treatment method. The physical properties of the samples were examined by SEM, EDAX and chemical analysis, and their electrochemical performances were investigated by means of galvanostatic charge-discharge, cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy （EIS）. The SEM results show that the samples coated with Ca（OH）2 display a porous surface structure. The electrochemical experiments indicate that the surface modification decreases the polarization of MnO2 electrodes and improves their discharge potentials and discharge capacities.

Self-propagating high-temperature synthesis（SHS） method was used to synthesize ZrB2/Al2O3 composite powders from B2O3-ZrO2-Al system. X-ray diffractometry（XRD） and scanning electron microscopy（SEM） analyses show the presence of ZrB2 and Al2O3 as the primary phases in the composite powders, while the presence of a very small amount of ZrO2 is thought to be unreacted zirconium oxide. Transmission electron microscopy（TEM） and high resolution electron microscopy（HREM） observations of microstructure of the composite powders indicate that the interfaces of ZrB2/Al2O3 bond well without any interfacial reaction products. It is proposed that the good interfacial bonding of composite powders results from the ZrB2 particles crystallizing and growing on the Al2O3 particles surface with surface defects acting as nucleation centers.

Using agent development tools to construct an agent-based system is a well applied approach. However, the development tools usually do not have the function to check the feasibility about the workflow of the agent system during it implementation stage. Therefore, to develop an evaluation approach to analyze the feasibility of a developing agent system such that the improper workflow of an agent system can be found in the early design stage is a necessary task to reduce the risk of implementation. In this research, a Petri Net （PN） based three-stage evaluation approach was developed. In the conceptual stage, the pitfall of the current agent system developing process was examined and an improvement analysis process was specified. Then, in the system design stage, an evaluation approach which extracted the process log file from a developing agent system into a PN model in terms of a process mining approach-or algorithm was proposed. This model was simulated in a PN simulation package. The agent system performance was evaluated in terms of analyzing the deadlock phenomena of the PN model. Finally, in the implementation stage, the proposed concept was implemented by using an agent developing tool JADE and a PN simulation tool CPN. An agent-based robotic assembly system was used to examine the possible deadlock of the agent system.

Synthesis and high-temperature performance of Ti substituted α-Ni(OH)_2

Ti substituted α-Ni（OH）2（c=2.121nm, a =0.307nm） with perfect high-temperature performance was prepared by the co-precipitation method. The effects of Ti addition on the structure and the electrochemical properties were investigated. The results indicate that the substitution of Ti for Ni leads to the conversion of β-Ni（OH）2 to α-Ni（OH）2 and the increase of the inter layer distance along c-axis from 0.464nm to 0.707nm. Infrared study reveals that more anions（SO2-4 and CO2-3 ions） and H2O exist in the Ti substituted α-Ni（OH）2. The discharge capacity of the Ti substituted α-Ni（OH）2 is 210mA·h/g at 20℃ and reaches up to 270mA·h/g at 80℃ owing to the inhibition of the oxygen evolution at high temperature.

The temperature of proton exchange membrane fuel cell stack and the stoichiometric oxygen in cathode have relationship with the performance and life span of fuel cells closely. The thermal coefficients were taken as important factors affecting the temperature distribution of fuel cells and components. According to the experimental analysis, when the stoichiometric oxygen in cathode is greater than or equal to 1.8, the stack voltage loss is the least. A novel genetic algorithm was developed to identify and optimize the variables in dynamic thermal model of proton exchange membrane fuel cell stack, making the outputs of temperature model approximate to the actual temperature, and ensuring that the maximal error is less than 1 ℃. At the same time, the optimum region of stoichiometric oxygen is obtained, which is in the range of 1.8-2.2 and accords with the experimental analysis results. The simulation and experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Protective Effect of Ecdysterone on PC12Cells Cytotoxicity Induced by Beta-amyloid_(25-35)

Objective： To examine the protective effect of ecdysterone （ECR） against beta-amyloid peptide fragment25-35 （Aβ25-35）-induced PC12 cells cytotoxicity, and to further explore its mechanism. Methods： Experimental PC12 cells were divided into the Aβ group （treated by Aβ25-35 100μmol/L）, the blank group （untreated）, the positive control group （treated by Vit E 100 μmol/L after induction） and the ECR treated groups （treated by ECR with different concentrations of 1, 50 and 100 μmol/L）. The damaged and survival condition of PC12 cells in various groups was monitored by lactate dehydrogenase （LDH） release and MTT assay. The content of malondialdehyde （MDA） was measured by fluorometric assay to indicate the lipid peroxidation. And the antioxidant enzymes activities in PC12 cells, including superoxide dismutases（SOD）, catalase （CAT） and glutathione peroxidase（GSH-Px）, were detected respectively. Results： After PC12 cells were treated with Aβ25-35 （100 μmol/L） for 24 hrs, they revealed a great decrease in MTT absorbance and activity of antioxidant enzymes, including SOD, CAT and GSH-Px as well as a significant increase of LDH activity and MDA content in PC12 cells （P〈0.01）. When the cells was pretreated with 1-100 μmol/L ECR for 24 hrs before Aβ25-35 treatment, the above-mentioned cytotoxic effect of Aβ25-35 could be significantly attenuated dose-dependently, for ECR 50 μmol/L, P〈0.05 and for ECR 100 μmol/L, P〈0.01. Moreover, ECR also showed significant inhibition on the Aβ25-35 induced decrease of SOD and GSH-Px activity, but not on that of CAT. Conclusion： ECR could protect PC12 cells from cytotoxicity of Aβ25-35, and the protective mechanism might be related to the increase of SOD and GSH-Px activities and the decrease of MDA resulting from the ECR-pretreatment.

Insitu for mation of titania film on NiTi alloy treated with hydrogen peroxide solution at low temperature

Chemically polished NiTi shape memory alloy（SMA） substrate was treated with a boiling aqueous solution containing hydrogen peroxide to form titania film in situ at low temperature. The surface characterizations of titania film on NiTi substrate were investigated by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffractometry and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The results show that titania film is successfully fabricated in situ on NiTi SMA by this surface oxidation method. It is mainly composed of rutile and anatase, whose surface compositions and morphologies are sensitive to H2O2 content. In situ formation mechanism of titania film on NiTi substrate was discussed based on the experimental results.
