Low Temperature Preparation and Characterization for PbTiO_3 Ceramics by Sol-Gel Technique

This Paper reports a new system for preparation of lead titanate powders by the Sol Gel method. In this system, basic lead lactate, (CH 3CHOHCOO) 2Pb, is used as the lead precursor instead of the widely used Pb(OOCCH 3) 2·3H 2O and titanium tetrabutoxide monomer. This new system simplifies the chemical processing of precursor solutions of lead titanate, increases their stability in air, and offers good control Pb(Ti stoichiometry. The xerogel, obtained from the precursor solution by aging at low temperature, is found to have a higer inorganic content. Gel to ceramic conversion is achieved by calcining the xerogel from 400℃ to 800℃. The phase purity, particle size, morphology, compositional homogeneity of the gel derived powders are examined by XRD. *** and the slow reflection spectrum of partides are measured.

A decentralized model reference adaptive control (MRAC) scheme is proposed and applied to design a multivariable control system of a dual-spool turbofan *** studies show good static and dynamic performance of the system over the fullflight envelope. Simulation results also show the good effectiveness of reducing interactionin the multivariable system with significant coupling. The control system developed has awide frequency band to satisfy the strict engineering requirement and is practical for engineering applications.

Effect of Saline Water on Cadmium Uptake and Remediability of Soil with Brassica Napus

Phytoremediation is a new technique for cleaning contaminated soils. This method in comparison with the other techniques is very simple and low cost. Among the pollutants, heavy metals and specially cadmium （Cd） is very important because of its high movement in soil and high toxicity. Bioavailability of metals in the soil is affected by various factors including saline solution. In fact there are symptoms for increasing Cd uptake due to increasing C1＂1 concentration in soil solution. The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of saline irrigation water on cadmium uptake and remediability of soil with Brassica napus （rapeseed） in greenhouse experiment. Saline waters of 0, 1.5 and 2.5 dS/m was applied on soil with different concentrations of Cd （5, 10, 20, 30 and 50 ppm） during the cultivation period of Okapi （fall rapeseed variety）. The results of this study showed that there are no significant differences in shoot dry matter exposed to Cd, but root dry matter decreased with increasing Cd concentration （p〈5%）. Salinity had a significant effect （p〈l%） on Cd concentration in roots and increased from 26.83 （in control） to 36.46 ***-1 dry wt （in 2.5 dS.m＂l treatment）. The significant effect （p〈5%） was found in shoots as well and the Cd uptake was increased from 2.14 to 3.25 mg.m^-1dry wt in control and 2.5 dS＇m^-1 treatments respectively. Likewise, salinity increased bioaccumulation coefficient, whereas had no significant effect on transport factor. The obtained results showed that Cd metal tend to accumulate more in the roots ofBrassica napus than in the shoots.

Microplastics(MPs)and plasticizers,such as phthalate esters(PAEs),were frequently detected in municipal wastewater treatment plants(MWTP).Previous research mainly studied the removal of MPs and PAEs in ***,the occurrence of MPs and PAEs in the sludge was generally *** comprehensively investigate the occurrence and the migration behaviors of MPs and PAEs in MWTP,a series of representative parameters including the number,size,color,shape of MPs,and the concentrations of PAEs in wastewater and sludge were systematically *** this study,the concentrations of MPs in the influent and effluent were 15.46±0.37 and 0.30±0.14 particles/*** MP removal efficiency of 98.1%was achieved and about 73.8%of MPs were accumulated in the sludge in the *** numbers of MPs in the sludge before and after digestion were 4.40±0.14 and 0.31±0.01 particles/g(dry sludge),*** Transform Infrared Spectroscopy(ATR FT-IR)analysis showed that the main types of MPs were polyethylene terephthalate(PET),polypropylene(PP),polyethylene(PE),and polystyrene(PS).Six PAEs,including phthalate(DMP),diethyl phthalate(dep.,diisobutyl phthalate(DIBP),ortho dibutyl phthalate(DBP),butyl benzyl phthalate(BBP),and bis(2-ethyl)hexyl phthalate(DEHP),were detected in the *** concentrations of total PAEs(ΣPAEs)in the influent and effluent were 76.66 and 6.28μg/L,*** concentrations ofΣPAEs in the sludge before and after digestion were 152.64 and 31.70μg/g,*** the process of thermal hydrolysis,the number and size of MPs decreased accompanied by the increase of the plasticizer concentration.

The need to continuously separate multiple microparticles is required for the recent development of lab-on-chip technology. Dielectrophoresis（dep.-based separation device is extensively used in kinds of microfluidic applications. However, such conventional dep.based device is relatively complicated and difficult for fabrication. A concise microfluidic device is presented for effective continuous separation of multiple size particle mixtures. A pair of acupuncture needle electrodes are creatively employed and embedded in a PDMS（poly-dimethylsiloxane） hurdle for generating non-uniform electric field thereby achieving a continuous dep.separation. The separation mechanism is that the incoming particle samples with different sizes experience different negative dep.n dep. forces and then they can be transported into different downstream outlets. The dep.characterizations of particles are calculated, and their trajectories are numerically predicted by considering the combined action of the incoming laminar flow and the n dep.force field for guiding the separation experiments. The device performance is verified by successfully separating a three-sized particle mixture, including polystyrene microspheres with diameters of 3 μm, 10 μm and 25 μm. The separation purity is below 70% when the flow rate ratio is less than 3.5 or more than 5.1, while the separation purity can be up to more than 90% when the flow rate ratio is between 3.5 and 5.1 and meanwhile ensure the voltage output falls in between 120 V and 150 V. Such simple dep.based separation device has extensive applications in future microfluidic systems.

Microspheres coated with a perfectly conductive surface have many advantages in the applications of biosensors and micro-electromechanical systems. Polystyrene microspheres with the diameter of 10 μm were coated with a 50 nmthick gold layer using an electroless gold plating approach. Dielectrophoresis （dep. for bare microspheres and shelled microspheres was theoretically analysed and the real part of the Clausius Mossotti factor was calculated for the two kinds of microspheres. The experiments on the dielectrophoretic characterisation of the uncoated polystyrene microspheres and gold coated polystyrene microspheres （GCPMs） were carried out. Experimental results showed that the gold coated polystyrene microspheres were only acted by a positive dielectrophoretic force when the frequency was below 40M Hz, while the uncoated polystyrene microspheres were governed by a negative dielectrophoretic force in this frequency range. The gold coated polystyrene microspheres were exploited to form the rnicrowire automatically according to their stable dielectrophoretic and electric characterisations.

This paper describes two softwares. The one can be used to predict the dynamic behavior of a complex crystallizer, to analyze the instability of the crystallizer, and to inveatigate manipulated and controlled variables for eliminating the sustained limit-cycle of CSD. The other one is an implicit self-tuning real time control program which can be used in industrial crystallizers. Data obtained in the pilot scale test show that this program does well in set point control of parameters and will be effective in the control of CSD stability in tests of computer simulation.

Recombinant salmon growth hormone contained in yeast was given for 5 months to flounder in its diet. Both free and total specific binding sites for the growth hormone were examined in liver membranes of control and treated fish. The association constants of both free and total specific binding sites were of the same order (1 nM 1 ), and no significant difference was found between any two groups in the capacity of their free binding sites. The capacity of total binding sites in the liver of treated fish increased significantly compared with that of control. Insulin like growth factor I (IGF I) levels in the plasma of treated fish increased by 22.61% (Pcontrol. While the T 4 levels in plasma did not increase significantly (from 1.35±0.91 ng/ml to 2.29±1.13 ng/ml), T 3 levels were elevated significantly (from 1.78±1.14 ng/ml to 4.87±1.22 ng/ml, Pcontrol.
