Pain is often comorbid with emotional disorders such as anxiety and *** of the anterior cingulate cortex has been implicated in pain and pain-related negative emotions that arise from impairments in inhibitory gamma-aminobutyric acid *** review primarily aims to outline the main circuitry(including the input and output connectivity)of the anterior cingulate cortex and classification and functions of different gamma-aminobutyric acidergic neurons;it also describes the neurotransmitters/neuromodulators affecting these neurons,their intercommunication with other neurons,and their importance in mental comorbidities associated with chronic pain *** understanding on their role in pain-related mental comorbidities may facilitate the development of more effective treatments for these ***,the mechanisms that regulate gamma-aminobutyric acidergic systems remain *** is also unclear as to whether the mechanisms are presynaptic or *** exploration of the complexities of this system may reveal new pathways for research and drug development.

Spraying Arginine at 5 Days before Harvest Delays Postharvest Broccoli Senescence via Nutrient Accumulation

To determine the effects of preharvest arginine spraying on the nutritional level of broccoli and the mechanism of action of arginine in improving the storage quality of broccoli,arginine spraying(5 mmol/L)was conducted at 0,1,3,and 5 days before *** appearance,respiration rate,mass-loss rate,electrolyte leakage,glucosinolate,ascorbic acid,total phenol,total flavonoid,total sugar and sucrose contents,and sucrose phosphate synthase(SPS),invertase(INV),sucrose synthase synthesis(SSS)and cleavage(SSC)activities of broccoli samples were observed after 0,2,4,6,8,and 10 days of *** results showed that spraying arginine at 5 days preharvest(5-ARG)helped to inhibit broccoli respiration during storage,delay electrolyte leakage,and maintain broccoli ***,during the growth stage,total sugar accumulation was higher in the 5-ARG *** addition,during the storage period,sucrose synthesis was accelerated,while sucrose cleavage was inhibited,resulting in more sucrose retention in postharvest *** conclusion,5-ARG resulted in the accumulation of more nutrients during the growth process and effectively delayed the quality decline during storage,thereby prolonging the shelf life of ***,this study provides a theoretical basis for improving postharvest storage characteristics of broccoli through preharvest treatments.

When the upper chord beam of the beam-string structure(BSS)is made of concrete-ﬁlled steel tube(CFST),its overall stiffness will change greatly with the construction of concrete placement,which will have an impact on the design of the tensioning plans and selection of control measures for the *** order to accurately obtain the bending stiffness of CFST beam and clarify its impact on the mechanical properties of composite BSS during con-struction,the inﬂuence of some factors such as height-width ratio,wall thickness of steel tube,elasticity modulus of concrete,and friction coefﬁcient on the bending stiffness are analyzed parametrically by the numerical simula-tion technology based on an actual *** calculation formula of the equivalent bending stiffness of CFST is also established through mathematical statistical ***,the equivalent bending stiffness is introduced into the construction and use stages of the composite BSS,respectively,and the mechanical properties such as prestress-tensioning control value,structural deformation,and internal force of key members are comparatively analyzed when adopting two different construction ***,the optimal construction plan of concrete placementﬁrst and then prestress-tensioning is proposed.

Therapeutic Efficacy Observation on Combining Acupuncture,Tuina and Functional Exercise for Transverse Process Syndrome of the Third Lumbar Vertebra

Objective： To observe the clinical effect of combining acupuncture, tuina and functional exercise for transverse process syndrome of the third lumbar vertebra. Methods： A total of 90 cases were randomly allocated into an observation group and a medication group. The 48 cases in the observation group were treated with acupuncture, tuina and functional exercise, whereas the 42 cases in the medication group were treated with Ibuprofen sustained release capsules. Before and after treatment, the short-form McGill pain questionnaire （SF-MPQ） was employed to observe the changes in pain rating index （PRI）, visual analogue scale （VAS） and present pain intensity （PPI）. In addition, therapeutic efficacies were compared between two groups. Results： The total effective rate in the observation group was 97.9%, versus 61.9% in the medication group, showing a statistical difference （P〈O.05）. After treatment, there were statistical differences between the two groups in sensory PRI score, affective PRI score, total PRI score, VAS score and PPI score （P〈O.05）; and there were also statistical differences between two groups in clinical sign scoring （P〈O.05）. After 4 and 8 weeks of treatment, there was a statistical difference between the two groups in re^apse rate （P〈O.05）. Conclusion： Combining acupuncture, tuina and functional exercise can obtain better effects and has a lower relapse rate than Ibuprofen sustained release capsules for transverse process syndrome of the third lumbar vertebra.

Understanding the neural underpinning of human gait and balance is one of the most pertinent challenges for 21st-century translational neuroscience due to the profound impact that falls and mobility disturbances have on our aging *** and gait control does not happen automatically,as previously believed,but rather requires continuous involvement of central nervous *** effectively exert control over the body,the brain must integrate multiple streams of sensory information,including visual,vestibular,and somatosensory *** mechanisms which underpin the integration of these multisensory signals are the principal topic of the present *** multisensory integration theories focus on how failure of cognitive processes thought to be involved in multisensory integration leads to falls in older *** emphasis,however,has been placed on specific contributions of individual sensory modalities to multisensory integration processes and cross-modal interactions that occur between the sensory modalities in relation to gait and *** the present work,we review the contributions of somatosensory,visual,and vestibular modalities,along with their multisensory intersections to gait and balance in older adults and patients with Parkinson’s *** also review evidence of vestibular contributions to multisensory temporal binding windows,previously shown to be highly pertinent to fall risk in older ***,we relate multisensory vestibular mechanisms to potential neural substrates,both at the level of neurobiology(concerning positron emission tomography imaging)and at the level of electrophysiology(concerning electroencephalography).We hope that this integrative review,drawing influence across multiple subdisciplines of neuroscience,paves the way for novel research directions and therapeutic neuromodulatory approaches,to improve the lives of older adults and patients with neurodegenerative diseases.

Treatment of 157 Cases of Cervical Spondylosis of Vertebral Artery Type by TuinaTherapy

Objective： To observe the clinical efficacy of tuina therapy in the treatment of cervical spondylosis of vertebral artery type. Methods： One hundred and tiffy-seven cases of cervical spondylosis of vertebral artery type were treated by tuina therapy, three times a week. Ten treatments made up one course and one to two courses of treatment was performed. During tuina treatment, other modalities that may affect tuina effects were discontinued. The patients were surveyed three months after tuina treatment. Results： Among the 157 cases, 109 cases obtained marked effectiveness, 26 cases improvement and 6 cases ineffectiveness; 16 cases were not surveyed. The total effective rate was 86.6%. Conclusion： Tuina therapy has excellent effects on cervical spondylosis of vertebral artery type.

Serum 25(OH)D and Lipid Levels in Chinese Obese and Normal Weight Males before and after Oral Vitamin D Supplementation

Objective To study the effect of oral vitamin D （VD） supplementation on VD status and serum lipid in Chinese obese and healthy normal-weight men. Methods Twenty-one obese men with their body mass index （BMI）〉28 kg/m2 served as an obese group and 22 healthy normal-weight men with their BMI〈24 kg/m2 served as a control group in this study. After they were given 50 000 IU of oral VD, once a week for 8 weeks, the serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25（OH）D] concentration was measured with an enzyme-immunoassay kit. Results After oral VD supplementation, the serum 25（OH）D concentration significantly increased from 46.1＋9.1 nmol/L to 116.7_＋20.3 nmol/L in the obese subjects （P〈O.01） and from 52.8_＋17.8 nmol/L to 181.3_＋30.2 nmol/L in the control ones （P=0.13）. The serum high-density lipoprotein cholesterol （HDL-C） level was reduced within the normal reference range in the obese group. However, no significant change was observed in the level of other serum lipids （triglycerides, total cholesterol, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol） in either of the two groups. Conclusion The effect of high-dose oral VD supplementation is weaker on VD status in the obese group than in the control group. High-dose oral VD supplementation has no side effect on serum lipid level in obese and control groups.

Impact of community public health care on treatment effect,health cognition,and self-management in patients with type 2 diabetes

BACKGROUND At present,China has become the country with the largest number of individuals with diabetes mellitus(DM)in the world,with a total of approximately 140 million patients,the majority of whom have type 2 DM(T2DM).Based on conven-tional nursing methods,community home care has important clinical significance in controlling blood sugar and disease *** To explore the impact of community public health nursing on treatment effect,health cognition,and self-management in patients with *** One hundred patients with T2DM were selected as the research *** patients were divided into either a conventional nursing group or community nursing(CN)group using the random number table *** conventional nursing group(50 cases)received routine care,while the CN group(50 cases)received community public health care in addition to routine care as that for the conventional nursing *** rate of excellent and good blood glucose control,fasting blood glucose before and after care,2-h postprandial blood glucose,health cognition,and self-management ability,and patient satisfaction were compared between the two *** The CN group had a higher rate of excellent blood sugar control than the conventional nursing group(88%vs 70%,P0.05).After nursing,fasting blood glucose and 2-h postprandial blood glucose were reduced to varying degrees in both groups,and both blood glucose levels in the CN group were lower than those of the conventional nursing group(P<0.05).Compared with the scores before care,the cognitive level score for diabetes and self-management ability score improved after care in both *** cognitive level and self-management ability of patients in the CN group were higher than those of the conventional nursing group(P<0.05).The overall satisfaction of the CN group was better than

An Improved Method for Correction of Air Temperature Measured Using Different Radiation Shields

The variation of air temperature measurement errors using two different radiation shields （DTR502B Vaisala,Finland,and HYTFZ01,Huayun Tongda Satcom,China） was *** were collected in the field at the daxing weather station in Beijing from June 2011 to May *** air temperature values obtained with these two commonly used radiation shields were lower than the reference records obtained with the new Fiber Reinforced Polymers （FRP） Stevenson *** most cases,the air temperature errors when using the two devices were smaller on overcast and rainy days than on sunny days; and smaller when using the imported rather than the Chinese *** measured errors changed sharply at sunrise and sunset,and reached maxima at *** diurnal variation characteristics were,naturally,related to changes in solar *** relationships between the record errors,global radiation,and wind speed were *** improved correction method was proposed based on the approach described by Nakamura and Mahrt （2005）（NM05）,in which the impact of the solar zenith angle （SZA） on the temperature error is considered and extreme errors due to changes in SZA can be corrected *** errors were reduced significantly after correction by either method for both *** error reduction rate using the improved correction method for the Chinese and imported shields were 3.3％ and 40.4％ higher than those using the NM05 method,respectively.
