SQL or NoSQL—Practical Aspect and Rational behind Choosing Data Stores

Data storage solutions are a crucial aspect of any application, significantly impacting data management and system performance. This article explores the rationale behind utilizing both SQL and NoSQL databases, addressing key questions about when each type is preferable. The background emphasizes the importance of selecting the appropriate database technology to meet specific application requirements. The purpose of this research is to provide a comprehensive guide for choosing between SQL and NoSQL databases based on various factors, inc.uding workload characteristics, scalability needs, and consistency requirements. To achieve this, we examine different strategies for implementing SQL and NoSQL databases in large-scale distributed applications and systems. The research method involves a comparative analysis of the features, advantages, and limitations of both database types. We specifically focus on scenarios involving read-heavy versus write-heavy systems and the trade-offs between availability and consistency. The results of this research indicate that SQL databases, with their relational structure and ACID compliance, are ideal for applications requiring complex queries and data integrity. In contrast, NoSQL databases, offering schema flexibility and horizontal scalability, are better suited for managing extensive datasets and high-velocity data ingestion. In conclusion, the selection of a database depends on the specific needs of the application. SQL databases are preferred for transactional systems with complex relationships, while NoSQL databases excel in scenarios demanding flexibility and scalability. The study provides insights into hybrid approaches, leveraging both database types to optimize system performance.

Boosting photocatalytic water vapor splitting by the integration of porous g-C_(3)N_(4)and carbonized melamine foam

We report a photothermally-induced liquid-solid/gas-solid-decoupling photocatalytic water-splitting system,where a carbonized melamine foam(CMF)and a porous g-C_(3)N_(4)(PCN)serve as the photothermal substrate and model photocatalyst,***,liquid water is transformed into the gaseous phase over the CMF due to the photothermal effect,and the generated vapor can be split into hydrogen by PCN via the *** unique biphasic photocatalytic system exhibits a high hydrogen production rate of 368.1µmol h^(-1),which is 2.4 and 25.6 times larger than those of the traditional triphasic PCN system(151.7µmol h^(-1))and g-C_(3)N_(4)(CN)system(14.4µmol h^(-1)),*** improved photocatalytic performance is mainly attributed to the optimized energy and mass transfer at the gas-liquid-solid reaction interface,where gas products are rapidly desorbed in the photocatalytic *** work provides a novel strategy to enhance the photocatalytic performance from the perspectives of energy and mass flow.

Photonics integration of an optoelectronic oscillator(OEO)on a chip is attractive for fabricating low cost,compact,low power consumption,and highly reliable microwave sources,which has been demonstrated recently in silicon on insulator(SOI)and indium phosphide(InP)platforms at X-band around 8 *** we demonstrate the first integration of OEOs on the thin film lithium niobate(TFLN)platform,which has the advantages of lower Vπ,no chirp,wider frequency range,and less sensitivity to *** have successfully realized two different OEOs operating at Ka-band,with phase noises even lower than those of the X-band OEOs on SOI and InP *** is a fixed frequency OEO at 30 GHz realized by integrating a Mach–Zehnder modulator(MZM)with an add-drop microring resonator(MRR),and the other is a tunable frequency OEO at 20–35 GHz realized by integrating a phase modulator(PM)with a notch *** work marks the first step of using TFLN to fabricate integrated OEOs with high frequency,small size,low cost,wide range tunability,and potentially low phase noise.

Glycolipids are lipid compounds,which are a type of amphiphilic molecules containing glycosyl *** experiment studied the efficacy of glycolipids on acne skin care from the aspects of antibacterial,anti-inflammatory,anti-allergic,oil-control,soothing and *** results show that glycolipids have excellent antibacterial properties against ***;when the dosage of glycolipids reaches 10μg/mL,the inhibition rate of glycolipids on lipid synthesis in SZ95 cells can reach 20%;glycolipids can induce LPS induction RAW264.7 cells have the inhibitory effect on the release of inflammatory factors IL-6 and NO;when the glycolipids concentration is 15 mg/mL,the inhibition rate of glycolipids on hyaluronidase reaches 45.8%;when the glycolipids concentration is 25μg/mL,the inhibition rate on calcium ion concentration reaches 45.3%;glycolipids have a significant promoting effect on wound ***,human efficacy evaluation shows that glycolipids products have comprehensive care effects on acne *** study will help further promote the application of glycolipids in cosmetic products,especially in skin care products for acne skin.

Efficacy of nonsolvent flower pollen extracts in healthy women with urinary inc.ntinence:A randomized,double-blind,placebo-controlled,parallel study

A low-profile dual-broadband dual-circularly-polarized reflectarray for K-/Ka-band space applications

A low-profile dual-broadband dual-circularly-polarized(dual-CP)reflectarray(RA)is proposed and demonstrated,supporting independent beamforming for right-/left-handed CP waves at both K-band and *** functionality is achieved by inc.rporating multi-layered phase shifting elements individually operating in the K-and Ka-band,which are then interleaved in a shared aperture,resulting in a cell thickness of only about *** rotating the designed K-and Ka-band elements around their own geometrical centers,the dual-CP waves in each band can be modulated *** reduce the overall profile,planar K-/Ka-band dual-CP feeds with a broad band are designed based on the magnetoelectric dipoles and multi-branch hybrid *** planar feeds achieve bandwidths of about 32%and 26%at K-and Ka-band respectively with reflection magnitudes below-13 dB,an axial ratio smaller than 2 dB,and a gain variation of less than 1 dB.A proof-of-concept dual-band dual-CP RA integrated with the planar feeds is fabricated and characterized which is capable of generating asymmetrically distributed dual-band dual-CP *** measured peak gain values of the beams are around 24.3 and 27.3 dBic,with joint gain variation<1 dB and axial ratio<2 dB bandwidths wider than 20.6%and 14.6%at the lower and higher bands,*** demonstrated dual-broadband dual-CP RA with four degrees of freedom of beamforming could be a promising candidate for space and satellite communications.
