Clinical Assessment of a Mesotherapy Formulation for Skin Rejuvenation in Healthy Volunteers

Mesotherapy is a mildly invasive procedure involving several subcutaneous drug injections, which are performed simultaneously. The concept is to inject a very small amount of active compounds (hyaluronic acid, vitamins, antioxidants, enzymes, humectants, …) and the aim is to stimulate the biosynthetic capacity of fibroblasts, increase collagen and elastin production and to give active essential molecules for a fibroblasts environment. Numerous studies suggest that the mesotherapy procedure improves skin hydration and mechanical properties;however, some results have not been statistically significant. In this study, we investigated an antiaging treatment as a complementary approach to a non-surgical rejuvenating procedure after 5 sessions of mesotherapy. Our main objective was to assess the improvement of face, neck and neckline skin quality, after intradermal microinjections of NCTF 135HA®. This mixture, manufactured by FILORGA Laboratories, includes a non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid, vitamins, antioxidants, mineral salts and enzymes. A statistically significant decrease in the depth of crow’s-feet wrinkles (43.3%) and in pore size (58.5%) was observed. Also, dermatological scores showed a significant decrease, and data suggest that skin tone was improved with a brighter tone. The injected mixture could then have an action on the skin pigmentation process with a photoprotective effect. Evolution of Dermis density was also investigated and an increase of dermal density and thickness were highlighted, showing an improvement of skin firmness with significant increases of dermis thickness (20%) and dermis density (24%), indicating a neocollagen activity.

Study on the clinical effect and safety of Kangfuxin liquid combined with microneedling in the treatment of facial skin photoaging

Background and Objectives:Microneedling has been introduced as a new technique to address the growing concern of facial skin *** liquid has been found to promote the process of skin wound repair,including reducing inflammatory response,improving immunity and enhancing antioxidant *** this prospective randomized double-blinded study,we wanted to explore the clinical efficacy and safety of Kangfuxin liquid combined with microneedling in treating facial skin ***:57 patients with facial skin photoaging were randomly divided into two *** treatment group(28 cases)received microneedle therapy with Kangfuxin liquid,while the control group(29 cases)received microneedle therapy with physiological *** treatment interval was 4 weeks,and a total of 3 treatments were *** the VISIA scores of facial photoaging features such as wrinkles,texture,pores,spots and ultraviolet pigmentation between two groups of patients before and after treatment,Global Score for Photoaging,satisfaction evaluation,and record the occurrence of adverse ***:After treatment,the treatment group showed more significant improvement in wrinkles,texture,pores,spots and ultraviolet pigmentation,and the Global Score for Photoaging was better than the control group(P<0.05).The satisfaction rate with improving skin in the treatment group was 85.71%,which was higher than 75.86%in the control group(P<0.05).Both groups did not experience adverse reactions such as skin infection,pigmentation or hypopigmentation,scar formation,or worsening of ***:Kangfuxin liquid combined with microneedling therapy has a good improvement effect on facial skin photoaging,with a low incidence of adverse reactions and high patient *** is worthy of clinical promotion.

Objective: To explore the practice and application of infection prevention and control strategies in risk departments during the COVID-19 epidemic, and to formulate the infection prevention and control measures to provide advice and guidance in risk departments. Methods: According to the latest plan of diagnosis and treatment, prevention and control issued by the National Health Commission, expert advice and consensus, combined with the actual situation in our hospital, a series of infection prevention and control measures of COVID-19 in risk department was formulated. Results: During the epidemic period, the prevention and control measures of nine risk departments including emergency operation, anesthesiology, endoscopy center, blood purification center, otolaryngology, stomatology, medical imaging department, medical cosmetology department and pulmonary function room were established from six aspects, including pre-examination and screening, medical technology control, personnel management, personal protection, environmental disinfection, medical waste disposal, etc. Conclusion: During the epidemic period, the infection prevention and control strategy of risk departments is one of the key links to control the spread of the epidemic, and risk departments must pay attention to and strictly implement various infection prevention and control measures.

Objective:To isolate,identify,and evaluate a new angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor from Peperomia pellucida(L.)Kunth ***:A dried sample of Peperomia pellucida herb was successively macerated with n-hexane and ethyl *** ethyl acetate extract solution was evaporated to obtain the crude *** liquid column chromatography and thin layer chromatography were performed to obtain two pure ***,both compounds were elucidated and identified using the spectroscopic ***-converting enzyme inhibitory activity studies of both compounds were determined using angiotensin-converting enzyme kit WST-1 with spectrophotometer microplate reader 96-well at 450 nm ***:Two bioactive compounds were successfully isolated from Peperomia pellucida herb,including a new compound of 2,3,5-trimethoxy-9-(12,14,15-trimethoxybenzyl)-1 H-indene and pellucidin *** compounds demonstrated angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitory activity,with IC50 values of 72 μM(27.95 μg/mL)and 1 1μM(4.4 μg/mL),***:In the present study,two active angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors were successfully isolated and purified from Peperomia pellucida which is used as an antihypertensive in traditional medicine,and support its use as an angiotensin-converting enzyme-inhibiting drug.

Objective： To investigate whether three strains of probiotics, L. acidophilus, L. rhamnosus, and L. sporogenes, had significant inhibitive effects on Helicobacter pylori（H. pylori）. Methods： This is a 4-week, randomly assigned, parallel-group, doubled-blind, and placebo-controlled study. Fifty patients with a positive H. pylori infection urea breath test（△UBT） result 〉 10% and without ulcer symptoms were randomized into a treatment group and a placebo group by a computer generated allocation sheet with 1：1. These subjects took one capsule of probiotics or placebo twice daily. The primary measurement was the change in △UBT values. Results： The △UBT values during the 4-week treatment period and the 2-week follow-up period were not significantly different between the treatment group and the placebo group, indicating that the inhibitive effects on H. pylori were comparable between both groups. The monocyte count（%） was 5.77±1.11 in the treatment group versus 5.09±1.12 in the placebo group（P=0.044）, and the basophile count was 0.55±0.32 in the treatment group versus 0.36±0.23 in the placebo group（P=0.024） at week 2 of the treatment period, both of which reached statistical significance. The monocyte count was 5.75±1.26 in the treatment group and 4.72±0.99 in the placebo group at the end of the follow-up period（P=0.003）. Conclusions： There was no significant inhibitive effects of the three probiotic strains（L. acidophilus, L. rhamnosus, and L. sporogenes） on H. pylori. Probiotics can not play the same role as antibiotics in the eradication of H. pylori, the role of probiotics is likely to be important as adjuvant to the triple or quadruple therapy for H. pylori, especially in resistance cases.

Nanocomposites of high-density polyethylene(HDPE)modified with 0.2 phr graphene-zinc oxide(GN-ZnO)exhibited optimal mechanical properties and thermal *** other nano-materials—GN and nano-ZnO—were also used to compare them with *** the content of GN-ZnO gradually enhanced the antibacterial and barrier properties,but the addition of 0.3 phr GN-ZnO led to agglomeration that caused defects in the ***,we investigated the antibacterial and barrier properties of HDPE nanocomposites infused with different nanoparticles(GN,ZnO,GN-ZnO)of varying *** and the nanoparticles were meltblended together in a Haake-Buchler Rheomixer to produce a new environment-friendly nano-material with improved physical and chemical *** following characterizations were conducted:tensile test,thermogravimetric analysis,morphology,differential scanning calorimetry,X-ray diffraction,antibacterial test,and oxygen and water vapor permeation *** results showed that the crystallinity of HDPE was affected with the addition of GN-ZnO,and the nanocomposites had effective antibacterial capacity,strong mechanical properties,high thermal stability,and excellent barrier *** type of HDPE nanocomposites reinforced with GN-ZnO would be attractive for packaging industries.

Effects of a Care Workshop on Caring Behaviors as Measured by Patients and Patient Satisfaction

Caring is a central focus of nursing, and patient satisfaction is a critical indicator of nursing care quality. The aim of this study was to determine the effects that a care workshop exerted on nurse caring behaviors as perceived by patients and reflected by patient satisfaction. A quasi-experimental, pretest-posttest design without a control group was applied. The intervention consisted of several facets: 1) formal educational sessions twice a week for six weeks, 2) an angel-master mentorship activity, and 3) posts of exemplary caring behavior and stories. A demographic questionnaire, the Modified Nurse Caring Behaviors Inventory, and the Hartford Hospital Satisfaction Survey were used in this study. Descriptive statistics were analyzed to evaluate participant demographic characteristics. Paired t tests were used to determine the effects of a care workshop on nurse caring behaviors as perceived by patients and reflected by patient satisfaction. Of the 236 patients enrolled, 49.6% were women and 57.2% were admitted to medical-surgical units. Female patients rated nurse caring behaviors higher and reported greater patient satisfaction than did male patients on the pretest (p p p p p p = 0.000). Caring educational programs for nurses are commonly regarded to be an essential strategy for promoting care knowledge and practice and improving patient satisfaction. According to the favorable results of this study, care workshops must be provides to nurses in other units or hospitals in future studies.

目的分析床边心脏超声联合心脏标志物在老年脓毒症心功能障碍中的诊治价值。方法选择本院重症医学科治疗老年脓毒症患者64例分为脓毒症心功能障碍组(32例)与脓毒症心功能正常组(32例),同期选择入院健康体检者32例为对照组。比较三组的二尖瓣环心肌运动速度[舒张早期血流速度(E)、舒张晚期血流速度(A)],左心室舒张/收缩末期容积(EDV/ESV)、左室射血分数(LVEF)、每搏输出量(SV)、每分输出量(CO)、E/A值以及α-羟丁酸脱氢酶(α-HBDH)、肌酸激酶同工酶(CK-MB)、N末端B型钠尿肽前体(NT-proBNP)、肌钙蛋白I(cTnI)、人心型脂肪酸结合蛋白(HFABP)水平,并绘制受试者工作特征(ROC)以及曲线下面积(AUC)。结果脓毒症心功能障碍组、脓毒症心功能正常组、对照组患者的H-FABP、NT-proBNP、α-HBDH、cTnI、CK-MB、EDV、ESV、SV、CO、LVEF、E/A水平比较,具有统计学意义(P<0.01)。经Logistics回归分析,EDV、SV、LVEF是脓毒症心功能障碍的保护因素,而CO、H-FABP、NT-proBNP是危险因素。心脏超声指标联合心脏标志物与单一指标的AUC比较,具有统计学意义(P<0.05),各指标间的的灵敏度、特异度比较,具有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论心脏超声指标与心脏标志物二者联合诊断脓毒症患者合并心功能障碍具有较高的诊断价值。

Biofunctionality Studies of <i>Cudrania cochinchinensis</i>Extracts

Cudrania cochinchinensis has been found to show remarkable medicinal values. The total phenolic and flavonoid contents of C. cochinchinensis extracts were analyzed, and the antioxidant activity and reducing ability of C. cochinchinensis extracts were also evaluated. Tetrahydroxyflavanonol (THF) was isolated from the xylem and pith portions of C. cochinchinensis stem;however, the bark portion of C. cochinchinensis stem was found to contain no THF. Consequently, solutions extracted from the xylem and pith portions of C. cochinchinensis showed good antioxidant activity. The IC50 values of pith, xylem, and bark extracts were 0.779, 3.020, and 3.507 mg/mL, respectively. As the pith portion of C. cochinchinensis stem contained more THF and had a higher flavonoid content, it exhibited better antioxidant activity and reducing ability. In addition, C. cochinchinensis pith extracts reduced tyrosinase activity in a dose-dependent manner with IC50 = 16.1 μg/mL. The inhibitory activity was determined to be noncompetitive with Km = 0.23 mM.
