Eco-friendly synthesis and environmental impact assessment of hierarchical Beta zeolite from kaolinite and recycled mother liquor

The development of sustainable techniques to produce high-performance zeolite is essential to achieve green production in industry. Herein, we report an eco-friendly route to synthesizing hierarchical Beta zeolite from kaolinite and recycled mother liquor. The results reveal that the unutilized species（such as silicon species and Na+） in mother liquor stayed in a stable concentration during eleven recycled experiments. Moreover, the synthesized Beta zeolites still have comparable physicochemical properties and catalytic performance in the esterification of levulinic acid with ethanol over the initial zeolite although eleven recycled experiments. Life cycle assessment exhibits that the synthesis of Beta zeolite with recycled mother liquor can reduce global warming potential by 23% and resource depletion-water use by 36% compared to that without recycled mother liquor. This quantitatively demonstrates that the approach proposed in this work is really a sustainable one, extremely increasing the utilization efficiency of raw materials and decreasing the environmental burden.

Despite the presence of Li F components in the solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)formed on the graphite anode surface by conventional electrolyte,these Li F components primarily exist in an amorphous state,rendering them incapable of effectively inhibiting the exchange reaction between lithium ions and transition metal ions in the ***,nearly all lithium ions within the SEI film are replaced by transition metal ions,resulting in an increase in interphacial impedance and a decrease in ***,we demonstrate that the SEI film,constructed by fluoroethylene carbonate(FEC)additive rich in crystalline Li F,effectively inhibits the undesired Li^(+)/Co^(2+)ion exchange reaction,thereby suppressing the deposition of cobalt compounds and metallic ***,the deposited cobalt compounds exhibit enhanced structural stability and reduced catalytic activity with minimal impact on the interphacial stability of the graphite *** findings reveal the crucial influence of SEI film composition and structure on the deposition and hazards associated with transition metal ions,providing valuable guidance for designing next-generation electrolytes.

The water-drop-shaped pressure hull has a good streamline,which has good application prospect in the underwater ***,this study conducted analytical,experimental and numerical investigation of the buckling properties of water-drop-shaped pressure hulls under hydrostatic pressure.A water-drop experiment was conducted to design water-drop-shaped pressure hulls with various shape *** critical loads for the water-drop-shaped pressure hulls were resolved by using Mushtari’s *** numerical simulations including linear buckling analysis and nonlinear buckling analysis including eigenmode imperfections were *** results indicated that the critical loads resolved by Mushtari's formula were in good agreement with the linear buckling loads from the numerical *** formula can be extended to estimate the buckling capacity of water-drop-shaped pressure *** addition,three groups of pressure hulls were fabricated by using stereolithography,a rapid prototyping ***,three groups of the pressure hulls were subjected to ultrasonic measurements,optical scanning,hydrostatic testing and numerical *** experimental results were consistent with the numerical *** results indicate that the sharp end of the water-drop-shaped pressure hulls exhibited instability compared with the blunt *** paper provides a new solution to the limitations of experimental studies on the water-drop-shaped pressure hulls as well as a new configuration and evaluation method for underwater observatories.

For present solid oxide fuel cells(SOFCs),rapid performance degradation is observed in the initial aging process,and the dis-cussion of the degradation mechanism necessitates quantitative ***,focused ion beam-scanning electron microscopy was em-ployed to characterize and reconstruct the ceramic microstructures of SOFC *** lattice Boltzmann method(LBM)simulation of multiphysical and electrochemical processes in the reconstructed models was *** samples collected from industrial-size cells were characterized,including a reduced reference cell and a cell with an initial aging *** parameters of the reconstructed microstructures revealed a significant decrease in the active triple-phase boundary and Ni connectivity in the aged cell compared with the reference *** LBM simulation revealed that activity degradation is dominant compared with microstructural degradation during the initial aging process,and the electrochemical reactions spread to the support layer in the aged *** microstructural and activity de-gradations are attributed to Ni migration and coarsening.

Double-arch tunnels,as one of the popular forms of tunnels,might be exposed to boiling liquid expanding vapour explosions(BLEVEs)associated with transported liquified petroleum gas(LPG),which could cause damage to the tunnel and even catastrophic collapse of the tunnel in extreme ***,very limited study has investigated the performance of double-arch tunnels when exposed to internal BLEVEs and in most analyses of tunnel responses to accidental *** TNT-equivalence method was used to approximate the explosion load,which may lead to inaccurate tunnel response *** study numerically investigates the response of typical double-arch tunnels to an internal BLEVE resulting from the instantaneous rupture of a 20 m^(3) LPG *** of various factors,including in-situ stresses,BLEVE locations,and lining configurations on tunnel responses are *** results show that the double-arch tunnels at their early-operation ages are more vulnerable to severe damage when exposed to the BLEVE due to the low action of in-situ stress of rock mass on the response of early-age *** is also found that directing the LPG tank to different driving lanes inside tunnels can affect the BLEVE-induced tunnel response more significantly than varying the configurations of tunnel ***,installing section-steel arches in the mid-wall can effectively improve the blast resistance of the double-arch tunnels against the internal *** addition,the prediction models based on multi-variate nonlinear regressions and machine learning methods are developed to predict the BLEVE-induced damage levels of the double-arch tunnels without and with section-steel arches.

The pore structure of spherical alumina supports is closely related to the dispersion of catalytically active components and the diffusion of *** excellent pore structure under strict reaction conditions is of utmost *** this work,sphericalγ-Al_(2)O_(3)support with a bimodal pore structure,composed of macropores and mesopores,was successfully synthesized using dodecane as the pore-forming agent through the oil–ammonia column-shaping *** morphology and internal pore structure of the alumina were found to be influenced by the amount of surfactant added and ultrasound treatment ***,when concentration of surfactant was 4‰and ultrasound voltage of 20 V was applied,the resultingγ-Al_(2)O_(3)-4‰-20 displayed a highly concentrated distribution of macropores with an average pore size of 100 nm,resulting in an impressive porosity of 69.21%.In contrast,the untreated sample ofγ-Al_(2)O_(3)-0-0 only exhibited a mesoporous distribution with a porosity of 54.03%.Moreover,after being subjected to a hydrothermal treatment in a high temperature(600°C)and high humidity(water vapor)environment for 120 h,theγ-Al_(2)O_(3)-4‰-20 sample maintained a high BET specific surface area of 170.9 m^(2)g^(−1)and mercury intrusion porosimetry specific surface area of 263.3 m^(2)g^(−1).

This paper develops a new approach for reliability-based design(RBD)of tunnel face support pressure from a quantile value perspective.A surrogate model is constructed to calculate the collapse pressures of the random samples generated by a single run of Monte Carlo simulation(MCS).The cumulative distribution function(CDF)of the collapse pressure is then obtained and the support pressure aiming at a target failure probability is chosen as the upper quantile value of the collapse *** proposed approach does not require repetitive reliability analyses compared to the existing ***,a direct relationship between the target failure probability and the required support pressure is *** illustrative example is used to demonstrate the implementation *** accuracy of the reliability-based support pressures is verified by direct MCS incorporating with three-dimensional numerical ***,the influencing factors,including the sample size of MCS,the correlation coefficient between random variables,the choice of experimental points,and the surrogate model,are *** method can play a complementary role to available approaches due to its advantages of simplicity and efficiency.

In industrial wireless networks,data transmitted from source to destination are highly *** often leads to the queuing of the data,and poor management of the queued data results in excessive delays,increased energy consumption,and packet ***,a nature-inspired-based Dragonfly Interaction Optimization Algorithm(DMOA)is proposed for optimization of the queue delay in industrial wireless *** term“interaction”herein used is the characterization of the“flying movement”of the dragonfly towards damselflies(female dragonflies)for *** a result,interaction is represented as the flow of transmitted data packets,or traffic,from the source to the base *** includes each and every feature of dragonfly movement as well as awareness of the rival dragonflies,predators,and damselflies for the desired optimization of the queue *** features are juxtaposed as noise and interference,which are further used in the calculation of industrial wireless metrics:latency,error rate(reliability),throughput,energy efficiency,and fairness for the optimization of the queue *** analysis,convergence analysis,the Wilcoxon test,the Friedman test,and the classical as well as the 2014 IEEE Congress of Evolutionary Computation(CEC)on the benchmark functions are also used for the evaluation of DMOA in terms of its robustness and *** results demonstrate the robustness of the proposed algorithm for both classical and benchmarking functions of the IEEE CEC ***,the accuracy and efficacy of DMOA were demonstrated by means of the convergence rate,Wilcoxon testing,and ***,fairness using Jain’s index in queue delay optimization in terms of throughput and latency,along with computational complexity,is also evaluated and compared with other *** results show that DMOA exceeds other bio-inspired optimization algorithms in terms of fairness in queue delay management and average packet *** proposed a
