Via a mild thermal precipitation and aging process, polycrystalline hydrated nickel oxalate nanofibers were synthesized using nickel chloride and ammonium oxalate as raw materials, with pH 8.0 and temperature 60 ？C. Atomic absorption spectrometer （AAS）, organic elemental analyzer （OEA）, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FT-IR）, thermogravimetry-derivative thermogravimetry （TG-DTG）, scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, and transmission electron microscopy （TEM） were used to characterize the products properties. The results demonstrated that the product was hydrated nickel oxalate. The sizes of hydrated nickel oxalate nanofibers were 100-150 nm in diameter, and 0.5-5.0 μm in length. A rational mechanism based on coordination self-assembly was discussed for the selective formation of the polycrystalline hydrated nickel oxalate nanofibers.

To improve the strength, toughness and heat-resistance of magnesium alloy, the microstrucmre and mechanical properties of ZA54 alloy reinforced by icosahedral quasicrystal phase （/-phase） particles were studied. Except α-Mg, φ-phase and τ-phase, MgZnYMn I-phase particles can be obtained in ZA54-based composites by the addition of icosahedral quasicrystal-contained Mg-Zn-Y-Mn master alloy. The introduction of MgZnYMn I-phase into ZA54 alloy has great contribution to the refinement of matrix microstructures and the improvement of mechanical properties. When the addition of Mg-based spherical quasicrystal master alloy is up to 3.5% （mass fraction）, the macro-hardness of ZA54-based composites is increased to HB 68. The impact toughness of composites reaches the peak value of 18.3 J/cm^2, which is about 29% higher than that of ZA54 mother alloy. The highest tensile properties at ambient and elevated temperatures with master alloy addition of 2.5% （473 K） are also obtained in ZA54-based composites with 3.5% （mass fraction） Mg-Zn-Y-Mn master alloy addition. The ultimate tensile strength of composites at ambient and elevated temperatures are 192.5 MPa and 174 MPa, which are 23.4% and 33.8% higher than that of ZA54 mother alloy, respectively. The improved mechanical properties are mainly attributed to the pinning effect of I-phase on grain boundaries.

In thermal barrier coatings (TBC), ceramics is covered on the metal matrix as coatings in order to raise its temperature endurance. Today most of the TBCs are of the double-layer-structure of Ni base heat-resistant alloy matrix+the bonding layer of MCrAIY alloy (M=Ni, Co, Ni+Co) +ZrO2. In this paper, the concept of interface conjunction factor (ICF) in the biphase interface of alloys is expanded to coatings. The ICFs of the interface between the ceramics and the bonding layers with various compositions, such as the electron density ρ, the electron density difference Δρ, and the number of atom state group which keeps the electron density continuous δ are calculated. From the calculation results, the following estimations can be deduced. When Al content is less than 6 wt% it improves the mechanical properties of the coatings; when the content is 6 wt%–12 wt% it will not worsen the properties; when the content is greater than 12 wt% it will have disadvantageous effect. The estimations accord well with the experiment results of the properties and the service time of the coatings. Therefore the concept of ICF has the same important meaning in coatings, and the valence electron structure of the interface can be a possible theoretical guide for the content optimization of TBCs.

Exercise Training Attenuated Chronic Cigarette Smoking-induced Up-regulation of FIZZ1/RELMα in Lung of Rats

FIZZ/RELM is a new gene family named ＂found in inflammatory zone＂（FIZZ） or ＂re- sistin-like molecule＂（RELM）. FIZZ1/RELMct is specifically expressed in lung tissue and associated with pulmonary inflammation. Chronic cigarette smoking up-regulates FIZZ 1/RELMct expression in rat lung tissues, the mechanism of which is related to cigarette smoking-induced airway hyperresponsive- ness. To investigate the effect of exercise training on chronic cigarette smoking-induced airway hyper- responsiveness and up-regulation of FIZZ1/RELMct, rat chronic cigarette smoking model was estab- lished. The rats were treated with regular exercise training and their airway responsiveness was meas- ured. Hematoxylin and eosin （HE） staining, immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization of lung tissues were performed to detect the expression of FIZZ1/RELMct. Results revealed that proper exercise training decreased airway hyperresponsiveness and pulmonary inflammation in rat chronic cigarette smoking model. Cigarette smoking increased the mRNA and protein levels of FIZZ1/RELMct, which were reversed by the proper exercise. It is concluded that proper exercise training prevents up-regulation of FIZZ1/RELMct induced by cigarette smoking, which may be involved in the mechanism of proper exercise training modulating airway hyperresponsiveness.

Aim:To investigate the effects of angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) telmisartanon the expression and distribution of protein kinase C (PKC)-α in the kidneys ofdiabetic ***:Diabetic mice were induced with streptozotocin and agroup of them were randomly selected for treatment with *** 6weeks,the expression and localization of PKC-α in the renal cortex,and the outerand inner medulla were assessed by immunohistochemistry and semiquantitativeWestern *** addition,expressions of PKC-α,transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1),and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in glomeruli weremeasured by semiquantitative ***:Diabetic and nor-mal mice showed similar distributions of PKC-α in the *** expression ofPKC-α was found in glomeruli,epithelial cells of proximal tubules,and medullary-collecting duct,while not in the medullary and cortical thick ascending limb,andwas different in the epithelial cells of proximal tubules of diabetic nephropathy(DN) mice,PKC-α was mostly translocated from the basement membrane to theapical membrane,whereas it was largely translocated from the apical membrane tothe basement membrane in epithelial cells of the inner medullary-collecting *** blotting detected increased expression of PKC-α in the renal cortex andouter medulla,but not in the inner medulla of DN *** expressions ofPKC-α,TGF-β1,and VEGF were shown in the glomeruli of DN mice,where PKC-αexhibited a correlation to VEGF,but no correlation to TGF-β*** telmisartanattenuated alterations of PKC-α as mentioned earlier in the DN ***:Our findings suggest that PKC-α may play a role in the pathogenesis of DN,andthat the nephroprotective effects of ARB telmisartan may be partly associatedwith its influence on PKC-α.

Although exogenous D-serine has been applied as a neural regulatory intervention in many studies,the role played by D-serine in hippocampal injuries caused by lead exposure remains poorly *** models of chronic lead exposure were established through the administration of 0.05%lead acetate for 8 ***,rats were administered 30 or 60 mg/kg D-serine,intraperitoneally,twice a *** results showed that D-serine treatment shortened the escape latency from the Morris water maze,increased the number of times that mice crossed the original platform location,and alleviated the pathological damage experienced by hippocampal neurons in response to lead *** D-serine administration did not increase the expression levels of the N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor subtype 2B(NR2B)in the hippocampi of lead-exposed rats,60 mg/kg D-serine treatment restored the expression levels of NR2A,which are reduced by lead *** findings suggested that D-serine can alleviate learning and memory impairments induced by lead exposure and that the underlying mechanism is associated with the increased expression of NR2A in the *** study was approved by the Animal Ethics Committee of North China University of science and technology,China(approval ***2018155)on December 21,2018.

A novel design and fabrication approach for a high fill-factor micro-electro-mechanical system （MEMS） micromirror array-based wavelength-selective switch （WSS） is presented. The WSS is composed of a polarization-independent transmission grating and a high fill-factor micromirror array. The WSS is successfully demonstrated based on the fabricated high fill-factor micromirror array. Test results show that the polarization-dependent loss （PDL） is less than 0.3 dB and that the insertion loss （IL） of the wavelength channel is about -6 dB. The switching function between the two output ports of WSS is measured. The forward switching time is recorded to be about 0.5 ms, whereas the backward switching time is about 7 ms.
