Developing highly active and robust oxygen evolution reaction(OER)electrocatalysts is still a critical challenge for water electrolyzers and metal-air *** the dynamic evolution of the intermediate and charge transfer during OER and developing a clear OER mechanism is crucial to design high-performance OER *** in Nature,Xue and colleagues revealed a new OER mechanism,coupled oxygen evolution mechanism(COM),which involves a switchable metal and oxygen redox under light irradiation in nickel oxyhydroxide-based *** newly developed mechanism requires a reversible geometric conversion between octahedron(NiO_(6))and square planar(NiO_(4))to achieve electronic states with both“metal redox”and“oxygen redox”during *** asymmetric structure endows NR-NiOOH with a nonoverlapping region between the dz^(2) orbitals and a_(1g)^(*)bands,which facilitate the geometric conversion and enact the COM *** a result,NR-NiOOH exhibited better OER activity and stability than the traditional NiOOH.

In this paper, the problem of exponential synchronization of complex dynamical networks with Markovian jumping parameters using sampled-data and Mode-dependent probabilistic time-varying coupling delays is investigated. The sam- pling period is assumed to be time-varying and bounded. The information of probability distribution of the time-varying delay is considered and transformed into parameter matrices of the transferred complex dynamical network model. Based on the condition, the design method of the desired sampled data controller is proposed. By constructing a new Lyapunov functional with triple integral terms, delay-distribution-dependent exponential synchronization criteria are derived in the form of linear matrix inequalities. Finally, two numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

The transforming growth factor-β （TGF-β） plays a crucial role in the beginning andprogression of fibrosis in various organ systems such as lung, heart, liver and kidney. TGF-fl type Ireceptor kinase （activin receptor-like kinase 5, ALK5） inhibitors might have potential activity forthe treatment of relevant diseases. In this paper, the three-dimensional quantitativestructure-activity relationship （3D-QSAR） including comparative molecular field analysis （CoMFA）and comparative molecular similarity indices analysis （CoMSIA） were used to analyze thestructural requirements based on a dataset of 123 4-（[1,2,4]Triazolo[1,5-a]pyridine-6-yl）-5（3）-（6-methylpyridin-2-yl）imidazole analogues which acted as ALK5 inhibitors. The obtainedCoMFA model （q2= 0.652, r2= 0.876, r2pred = 0.845） and CoMSIA model （q^2= 0.648, r^2= 0.884,r^2pred = 0.853） were robust and satisfactory. The predictive ability of the derived models wasvalidated using a test set of 28 compounds. Additionally, potentially important structural featuresrequired to enhance activity were also elucidated by the contour maps derived from CoMFA andCoMSIA models. The results will be helpful to guide drug design strategies aimed at obtainingpotent and selective ALK5 inhibitors.

BACKGROUND： Coriaria lactone-activated astrocytes released bioactive substances that eventually caused epilepsy. OBJECTIVE： It has been suggested that activated astrocytes alter the expression of the estrogen receptor and progesterone receptor by releasing bioactive substances during epilepsy, thereby affecting neuronal activity in the brain. This study was designed to observe the expression of the estrogen receptor and the progesterone receptor in rat brain following lateral ventricle injection of coriaria lactone-activated, astrocyte-conditioned medium. design AND SETTING： This immunohistochemical, randomized, controlled, animal study was conducted at the Department of Pathology, Hospital Affiliated to Binzhou Medical college, China. MATERIAL： Coriaria lactone was provided by Huaxi Pharmaceutical Factory, China. METHODS： Forty adult, healthy, male, Sprague Dawley rats were randomly assigned into two groups. Astrocyte-conditioned medium （10 μ L） was injected into rat lateral ventricle in the control group （n = 8）. Coriaria lactone-activated, astrocyte-conditioned medium （10 μL） was infused into the rat lateral ventricle in the coriaria lactone group （n = 32）. At 2, 4, 8 and 12 hours following injection, rats were sacrificed and subjected to immunohistochemistry. Eight rats were studied at each time point. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES： Behavioral changes were observed in rats of both groups. Expression of the estrogen receptor and the progesterone receptor in rat cortical and hippocampal neurons was measured using immunohistochemistry. RESULTS： Four hours after injection, estrogen receptor levels in rat cortical and hippocampal neurons were significantly higher in the coriaria lactone group than in the control group （P 〈 0.05）. Progesterone receptor levels were significantly lower in the coriaria lactone group than in the control group （P 〈 0.05）. Seizures were not observed in the control group. Selective extraction and conversion of lignin in actual biomass to monophenols: A review

Our over dependency on the fossil resource for industrial chemicals and fuels faces great challenges. Recently, the production of monophenols from lignin in lignocellulosic biomass is regarded as a promising process for sustainable biofuels. This article discusses the conversion of lignin in actual biomass directly to monophenols. The two step way including extraction of lignin from biomass and further degradation of the lignin oligomers to monophenols is especially discussed. The obtained monophenols can also be converted to chemicals with low-oxygen content via hydrodeoxygenation process. For extraction of lignin, co-solvent system is the most adopted for hydrolysis or solvolysis of lignin assisted by acid or alkaline catalysts. The structure of the obtained oligomers derived from lignin is discussed in detail. For lignin depolymerization, hydrogenolysis is an efficient method with the use of gaseous hydrogen or alcohols as hydrogen source. At the meantime, depolymerization mechanism and the route for repolymerization of the reaction intermediates are presented here. In hydrodeoxygenation process, metal catalysts, especially noble metal catalysts are required. The precise effects of the reaction solvents and catalysts on extraction and degradation of lignin need to be further investigated, and this will benefit to design more efficient strategies for lignin utilization. © 2016 Science Press

This research aims to understand the psychological, the social and cognitive aspects of ageing and assess the relevance of driving a personal automobile to seniors. We know that biological ageing is an inescapable fact, but is there also a psychological and a cognitive ageing？ If so, is it related to getting older or to other factors？ How relevant is continuing to drive to seniors, and how can the activity influence psychological and cognitive types of their ageing and self well-being？ To answer these questions, we study several authors and concepts about mental health, development of ageing and their relationship to driving. We also explore psychological and cognitive changes associated with ageing, the principal behavioural changes of healthy senior people （with normal cognitive function） and MCI （mild cognitive impairment）, as well as how driving inhibition can induce and affect psychological and cognitive characteristics. We conclude that low mental functioning is caused by a set of biological, psychological and social factors, connected in turn to environmental factors. The slowdown of cognitive activities and performances in seniors is not inevitably accompanied by a decrease in intellectual capacity, low sensory acuity, or slowing psychomotor skills. Other factors should be considered--such as health status, limitations, anxiety, lack of interest, motivation and attitudes. The loss of cognitive abilities and the prevalence of mild cognitive impairment increase with age and are a growing concern, especially among seniors who drive cars. However, we still lack specific evidence based on tests and criteria--in particular, on psychological and cognitive domains--to assess senior drivers actually at risk. It is important to establish a base of evidence to allow objective risk determination. The safest senior drivers should continue driving for as long as possible, thereby contributing to their mental health, independence and quality of life.

A hybrid spectrum sensing and geolocation database framework is proposed to tackle the discovery of spatial-temporal spectrum hole in cognitive radio *** first analyze the advantages and disadvantages of spectrum sensing-based and geolocation database-based approaches respectively,which motivate us to further propose a hybrid protocol framework by effectively integrating the benefits of both spectrum sensing and geolocation ***,in the proposed hybrid approach,the goal is to maximize the utilization of spatialtemporal spectrum hole while satisfying the protection constraints for the primary *** and numerical results demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed hybrid approach over the existing spectrum sensing only and geolocation database only approaches,in terms of interference-free *** article serves as a fundamental framework for advancing the design of hybrid approaches for spatial-temporal spectrum hole discovery.
