On the basis of the analyses of TOC, CaCO3, δ13Corg, δ18O, and δ13C of the shell bar section in the Qaidam basin, and compared with grain size data, the environmental change history of the high water level of paleolake Qarhan was reconstructed and it could be divided into five stages. From 39.7 to 35.8 kaBP was the development period of high paleolake level. From 35.8 to 33.6 kaBP and 33.6 to 27.2 kaBP, TOC and CaCO3 contents and δ18O values were high, whereas, δ13Corg values and median size content were low, reflecting a warm-humid climate and high lake level. During 27.2-22.3 kaBP and 22.3-17.5 kaBP, both temperature and the lake level were lower than those in the previous stages, but the climate was still warmer and more humid than that of today. The lake level decreased between 32.4 and 32.2 kaBP, 30.4 and 29.8 kaBP, and 28.4 and 27.2 kaBP. Generally, the climate was warm and humid in Qaidam basin and the high lake level sustained between 39.7 and 17.5 kaBP. The lake retreated abruptly at 17.5 kaBP, with a very strong increase in evaporation, which resulted in salt formation and the extinction of Corbicula.

Wudu County in northwestern China frequently experiences large-scale landslide events. High-magnitude earthquakes and heavy rainfall events are the major triggering factors in the region. The aim of this research is to compare and combine landslide suseeptibility assessments of rainfall- triggered and earthquake-triggered landslide events in the study area using Geographical Information System （GIS） and a logistic regression model. Two separate susceptibility maps were produeed using inventories reflecting single landslide-triggering events, i.e., earthquakes and heavy rain storms. Two groups of landslides were utilized： one group eontaining all landslides triggered by extreme rainfall events between 1995 and 2003 and the other group containing slope failures caused by the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake. Subsequently, the individual maps were combined to illustrate the loeations of maximum landslide probability. The use of the resulting three landslide susceptibility maps for landslide forecasting, spatial planning and for developing emergency response actions are discussed. The eombined susceptibility map illustrates the total landslide susceptibility in the study area.

Branched aliphatic alkanes of shell bar section in Qarhan Lake,Qaidam Basin and their paleoclimate significance

Biomarkers of paleolake deposits from Qarhan Salt Lake in Qaidam Basin,northwest China were sys-tematically analyzed and the A―C series compounds of branched aliphatic alkanes with quaternary substituted carbon atom(BAQCs) were identified. The homologous distinguished three series,A―C,were identified as 5,5-diethylalkanes,6,6-diethylalkanes and 5-butyl,5-ethylalkanes series,and their relative abundance was A > B > C. Series A and C were characterized by odd carbon numbers,whereas series B was characterized by even carbon numbers. The high values of series A corresponded with the high values of series B and C. Therefore,it can be concluded that series A,B and C possess a similar biological origin. The abundance of series A was relatively low in the lower part of the section compared with that in the upper part,implying that these series originated from bacteria and/or algae more prevalent in fresh-mesohaline water,and such kinds of bacteria and/or algae are most likely to be thermophilous species. The A25/nC25 ratio differences in the section show that such branched aliphatic alkanes can be treated as one kind of environmental change proxy for paleolake evolution and may provide important information for the climate reconstruction of the Late Pleistocene.

In recent years, the computer drawing technology that deals with three-dimensional (3D) design of footwear has become hot topics. Rhino is a kind of common and practical 3D design software with strong drawing and rendering graphics function, which is widely used to design industrial products. In this paper, through decomposition and modeling, modeling and drawing methods were analyzed in various parts of footwear by Rhino, as well as the smooth technology and adjustments to its profile curve by an example of lady's high boots. Finally, through a series introductions of rendering effects for footwear in color, light perception, grain characteristic, and 3D graphics, the main technical essential is achieved and difficulties in design of overall footwear styles are solved.

This case study focuses on the sustainable design of a demonstration kitchen space within a multifamily residence through a student lens.A project-based learning opportunity for undergraduate students in a senior-level kitchen and bath design studio was created to redesign a multifamily starter kitchen space into a multifamily sustainable kitchen space within the Center for Real Life Kitchen Design at Virginia *** completion of this student project,a content analysis was employed to uncover sustainability themes within these student *** students are making the environment and sustainability priorities in their shopping choices,uncovering student themes regarding multifamily sustainability kitchen design criteria can uncover trends important to this millennial generation(The Nielsen Company,2015;Timm,2014).Furthermore,as demand for sustainability increases,comparing student themes to multifamily industry sustainability certification systems may unearth potential gaps in the industry which need to be *** there are several sustainability certification agencies that apply to multifamily in general,there is no one specific source for sustainability guidelines for kitchens,much less in multifamily *** lack of guidelines and the inconsistency between existing certification programs make it confusing for consumers,developers,designers,and students to value and weigh elements of a sustainable kitchen project,especially with respect to multifamily *** examining kitchens using current sustainability certification programs as well as this case study,recommendations can be put forth to shape guidelines for sustainable multifamily kitchens that are both clearly understood and sensitive to the ***,this could lead to sustainable kitchen design features becoming more commonplace in the multifamily resident home.

A new gas-liquid-solid circulating fluidized bed photocatalytic reactor （GLSCFBPR） with internally placed multi-layered UV lamps was developed. Micrometer Gd-TiO2 particles and commercial nanometer P25-TiO2 were chosen as the photocatalysts, and the hazardous substance bisphenol A （BPA） was chosen as the model pollutant to investigate the performance of this new photocatalytic system. The results showed that the photocatalytic degradation efficiency of the micrometer Gd-TiO2 particles was similar to that of the nanometer P-25 particles at their respective optimum dosage but the former could be easily separated out by gravity. After investigating the effects of process parameters on the photocatalytic BPA degradation, the response surface method （RSM） was further used for process optimization. The interactions among process parameters, i.e., TiO2 concentration, superficial gas velocity and superficial liquid velocity were discovered and a related analysis was carried out to explore the underlying mechanism. A quadratic mathematic model was established and performed satisfactorily when used for prediction. The optimum conditions for this new process were as follows： TiO2 concentration 4.5 g/L, superficial gas velocity 7.83 x 10-3 m/sec and superficial liquid velocity 8.65 x 10-3 m/sec.

To investigate the distributing disciplinarian of ground motion parameters on the earth fissure site during strong earthquakes,a series of shaking table tests were designed and conducted based on 1:15 scaled *** results showed significant differences in the ground motion parameters(including ground motion intensity indices,spectrum characteristics and strong motion duration)between the hanging-wall and footwall caused by the earth *** response,displacement response and Arias Intensity response on both sides of earth fissure indicated that the earth fissure site on the hanging-wall was destroyed more *** distributing disciplinarian of amplification factors showed clear"hangingwall and footwall effects",which were more remarkable nearby the fissure *** low-frequency component of the seismic wave was richer after selectively filtering in the soil *** comparing the predominant period and mean period of the hanging-wall and footwall,it was found that vibration frequency on the hanging-wall was greater than that on the *** values of strong motion duration were recorded on the hanging-wall close to the fissure and increased from the fissure to both sides.

基于人类视觉特征的景观空间视觉吸引要素是景观空间视觉质量评价的基础。以景观空间中视觉吸引要素为研究对象,通过对各种视觉吸引要素的搜集整理,采用问卷调查的方法,对美国西雅图华盛顿大学校区周边207人进行测试,并将所得数据进行统计分析。将普测人群的测试结果结合景观视觉研究领域已有的研究成果,总结归纳出12个景观空间视觉吸引要素,包括:空间尺度和距离、实体、边界、色彩、线条、形体、瞬逝自然景象、植被、质地、水体、动态景象、阳光。通过数据分析发现,各视觉吸引要素量在景观空间中所占比重的不同会给人带来不同的视觉感受。分析认为,景观空间视觉吸引要素的丰富度是景观视觉评价的重要依据,也可为景观美学提供理论依据。

The synergistic effect of total ionizing dose(TID) and single event gate rupture(SEGR) in SiC power metal–oxide–semiconductor field effect transistors(MOSFETs) is investigated via simulation. The device is found to be more sensitive to SEGR with TID increasing, especially at higher temperature. The microscopic mechanism is revealed to be the increased trapped charges induced by TID and subsequent enhancement of electric field intensity inside the oxide layer.
