Objective To build a dataset encompassing a large number of stained tongue coating images and process it using deep learning to automatically recognize stained tongue coating *** A total of 1001 images of stained tongue coating from healthy students at Hunan University of chinese medicine and 1007 images of pathological(non-stained)tongue coat-ing from hospitalized patients at The First hospital of Hunan University of chinese medicine withlungcancer;diabetes;***-zed into the training;validation;and testing datasets in a 7:2:1 ratio.A deep learning model was constructed using the ResNet50 for recognizing stained tongue coating in the training and validation *** training period was 90 *** model’s performance was evaluated by its accuracy;loss curve;recall;F1 score;confusion matrix;receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve;and precision-recall(PR)curve in the tasks of predicting stained tongue coating images in the testing *** accuracy of the deep learning model was compared with that of attending physicians of traditional chinese medicine(TCM).Results The training results showed that after 90 epochs;the model presented an excellent classification *** loss curve and accuracy were stable;showing no signs of *** model achieved an accuracy;recall;and F1 score of 92%;91%;and 92%;*** confusion matrix revealed an accuracy of 92%for the model and 69%for TCM *** areas under the ROC and PR curves were 0.97 and 0.95;*** The deep learning model constructed using ResNet50 can effectively recognize stained coating images with greater accuracy than visual inspection of TCM *** model has the potential to assist doctors in identifying false tongue coating and prevent-ing misdiagnosis.

OBJECTIVE:To explore the mechanism by which Tongqiao Yizhi granule(通窍益智颗粒,TQYZKL)intervenes pyroptosis to treat vascular dementia(VaD)in a rat ***:The rat model of VaD was established by two-vessel occlusion(2VO).The rats were randomly divided into Sham group,Model group,Nimodipine group,TQYZKL(6.2 g·kg^(-1)·d^(-1)),TQYZKL(12.4 g·kg^(-1)·d^(-1)),TQYZKL(24.8 g·kg^(-1)·d^(-1)).The Morris water maze(MWM)test was carried out to test the learning and memory function;Hematoxylin-eosin staining and transmission electron microscopy(TEM)to observe the pathological damage in the hippocampus;Tunel fluorescence staining to detect neuronal pyroptosis in the *** expression levels of pyroptosis-related proteins,namely Golgi peripheral membrane protein p65(P65),nucleotide oligomerization domain-like receptors 3(NLRP3),caspase-1 and Gasdermin D(GSDMD),were detected using Western blotting and reverse transcription polymerase chain ***,the serum levels of interleukin-1β(IL-1β)and interleukin-18(IL-18)were determined through the enzyme-linked immunosorbent ***:The study revealed that TQYZKL effectively improved the ability of VaD ratsto learn and memorize,relieved the pathological damage in the hippocampus,restored neuronal morphology,and reduced the expression of pyroptosis-related proteins P65,NLRP3,caspase-1,GSDMD-N,IL-18 and IL-1β(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:TQYZKL inhibits neuronal pyroptosis in the hippocampus of VaD rats by regulating nuclear factor kappa-B/NLRP3/caspase-1 signaling pathway,thus exerting a therapeutic effect on VaD in the rats.

Objective:The objective of this research was to explore the difference and correlation of the morphological and hemodynamic features between sidewall and bifurcation aneurysms in anterior circulation arteries,utilizing computational fluid dynamics as a tool for ***:In line with the designated inclusion criteria,this study covered 160 aneurysms identified in 131 patients who received treatment at Union hospital of Tongji Medical College,Huazhong University of Science and Technology,China,from January 2021 to September *** follow-up digital subtraction angiography(DSA)data,these cases were classified into two distinct groups:the sidewall aneurysm group and the bifurcation aneurysm *** and hemodynamic parameters in the immediate preoperative period were meticulously calculated and examined in both groups using a three-dimensional DSA reconstruction ***:No significant differences were found in the morphological or hemodynamic parameters of bifurcation aneurysms at varied locations within the anterior ***,pronounced differences were identified between sidewall and bifurcation aneurysms in terms of morphological parameters such as the diameter of the parent vessel(Dvessel),inflow angle(θF),and size ratio(SR),as well as the hemodynamic parameter of inflow concentration index(ICI)(P0.5,P<0.001).Conclusions:The significant differences in certain morphological and hemodynamic parameters between sidewall and bifurcation aneurysms emphasize the importance to contemplate variances in threshold values for these parameters when evaluating the risk of rupture in anterior circulation *** it is a bifurcation or sidewall aneurysm,these disparities should be *** morphological parameter SR has the potential to be a val

There is increasing evidence that the gut microbiota affects the incidence and progression of central nervous system diseases via the brain-gut *** spinal cord is a vital important part of the central nervous system;however,the underlying association between spinal cord injury and gut interactions remains *** studies suggest that patients with spinal cord injury frequently experience intestinal dysfunction and gut *** in the gut microbiota can cause disruption in the intestinal barrier and trigger neurogenic inflammatory responses which may impede recovery after spinal cord *** review summarizes existing clinical and basic research on the relationship between the gut microbiota and spinal cord *** research identified three key ***,the gut microbiota in patients with spinal cord injury presents a key characteristic and gut dysbiosis may profoundly influence multiple organs and systems in patients with spinal cord ***,following spinal cord injury,weakened intestinal peristalsis,prolonged intestinal transport time,and immune dysfunction of the intestine caused by abnormal autonomic nerve function,as well as frequent antibiotic treatment,may induce gut ***,the gut microbiota and associated metabolites may act on central neurons and affect recovery after spinal cord injury;cytokines and the Toll-like receptor ligand pathways have been identified as crucial mechanisms in the communication between the gut microbiota and central nervous *** microbiota transplantation,probiotics,dietary interventions,and other therapies have been shown to serve a neuroprotective role in spinal cord injury by modulating the gut *** targeting the gut microbiota or associated metabolites are a promising approach to promote functional recovery and improve the complications of spinal cord injury.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the underlying protein molecular mechanisms of "Qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome"(QS) and "Qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome"(QD), as two subtypes of coronary artery disease(CAD) in traditional chinese medicine(TCM),following percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).METHODS: In this study, a total of 227 CAD patients with QS and 211 CAD patients with QD were enrolled;all participants underwent PCI. Label-free quantification proteomics were employed to analyze the changes in serum in two subtypes of CAD patients before and 6 months after PCI, aiming to elucidate the intervention mechanism of PCI in treating CAD characterized by two different TCM ***: Biochemical analysis revealed significant changes in tumor necrosis factor-α, high density lipoprotein cholesterol, blood stasis clinical symptoms observation, and Gensini levels in both patient groups post-PCI;Proteomic analysis identified 79 and 95 differentially expressed proteins in the QS and QD patient groups, respectively, compared to their control *** C8 alpha chain, complement factor H,apolipoprotein H, apolipoprotein B, plasminogen,carbonic anhydrase 2, and complement factor Ⅰ were altered in both comparison groups. Furthermore,enrichment analysis demonstrated that cell adhesion and connectivity-related processes underwent changes in QS patients post-PCI, whereas lipid metabolism-related pathways, including the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor signaling pathway and extracellular matrix receptor interaction, underwent changes in the QD *** protein-protein interaction network analysis further enriched 52 node proteins, including apolipoprotein B,lipoprotein(a), complement C5, apolipoprotein A4,complement C8 alpha chain, complement C8 beta chain,complement C8 gamma chain, apolipoprotein H,apolipoprotein A-Ⅱ, albumin, complement C4-B,apolipoprotein C3, among others.
