Given the rapid changes in social structure(urbanization),economic structure(industrialization),and demographic structure(population aging)in China,cancer has become a major public health *** evidence has indicated that screening can decrease cancer mortality,particularly among high-risk groups,and several representative national and regional cancer screening programs have been launched in China to cope with the increasing burden of cancer.

Objective To realize AIDS related knowledge, attitude and behavior among floating people in China and discuss its influencial factors, and to provide the evidence for how to prevent AIDS in floating population. Methods The data were collected from the ＂Sex and Reproductive Health Baseline Survey among Floating People in China＂ conducted in March 2004. The standard questionnaires were used to interview altogether 4 900 floating people from 6 provinces. Results Nearly 95.4 % of them had heard about AIDS, but only 0.5% can judge all the transmitted ways and no-transmitted ways correctly, 45.9 % believed that we need to isolate the HIV positive people. Only 65.7% knew that using condom can preventive HIV infection, 43. 7% showed their understanding about the man who has long time no sexual life has sex with a sexual worker. About 13.6% floating people chose condom as FP method and among them only 34. 6% used condom every time. Conclusion Chinese floating people are lack of AIDS knowledge. Most of them do not practise Safe Sex Activity. We need to give more intervention to the floating population.

To the Editor,Developmental delay or intellectual disability(DD/ID)is one of the most common neurodevelopmental disabilities worldwide with high clinical and genetic *** etiology remains unexplained in nearly 70%of these patients,and an accurate diagnosis still poses a challenge in clinical *** DD/ID cohort studies mostly used panel sequencing or chromosome microarray analysis(CMA),but targeted capture probes could not be updated in time,resulting in an increased risk of missed detection of genetic abnormalities.

Analysis of the social and clinical factors affecting the age of children when receiving surgery for hypospadias:a retrospective study of 1611 cases in a single center

We aimed to explore the associations between the age at which children undergo surgery for hypospadias and a range of social and clinical factors in a single *** aim was to promote the early surgical treatment of children with *** a 6-year period,social and clinical data were collected from all children undergoing surgery to repair hypospadias in Children’s Hospital of Chongqing Medical University(Chongqing,China),located in southwest of *** analyzed the correlations between age at surgery and a range of social and clinical factors.A total of 1611 eligible cases were recruited,with a mean age of 54.3 months and a median age of 42 months:234 cases(14.5%)were classified into a“timely operation”group,419(26.0%)cases into a“subtimely operation”group,and 958(59.5%)cases into a“delayed operation”*** to multivariate regression analyses,the higher the regional economic level,the closer the urethral opening to the perineum,and the higher the educational level of the guardians was,the younger the children were when they underwent the initial surgery for hypospadias;this was also the case for families without other *** subgroup analysis showed that the primary educational level of the guardians was a risk factor for subtimely surgery in their children(odds ratio[OR]=1.52,95%confidence interval[CI]:1.08-2.15,P<0.05).A lower regional economic level(OR=1.87,95%CI:1.26-2.78,P<0.01),a lower educational level of the guardians(OR=3.84,95%CI:2.31-6.41,P<0.01),and an anterior-segment urethral opening(OR_(1)[vs middle hypospadias]=2.07,95%CI:1.42-3.03;0R_(2)[vs posterior hypospadias]=2.63,95%CI:1.75-3.95;P<0.01)were all risk factors for delayed surgery in children.

Recent advancements in biomedical research have underscored the importance of noninvasive cellular manipulation ***,a method that uses genetic engineering to produce ultrasound-sensitive proteins in target cells,is gaining prominence along with optogenetics,electrogenetics,and *** stimulation with ultrasound,these proteins trigger a cascade of cellular activities and *** traditional ultrasound modalities,sonogenetics offers enhanced spatial selectivity,improving precision and safety in disease *** technology broadens the scope of non-surgical interventions across a wide range of clinical research and therapeutic applications,including neuromodulation,oncologic treatments,stem cell therapy,and *** current literature predominantly emphasizes ultrasonic neuromodulation,this review offers a comprehensive exploration of *** discuss ultrasound properties,the specific ultrasound-sensitive proteins employed in sonogenetics,and the technique’s potential in managing conditions such as neurological disorders,cancer,and ophthalmic diseases,and in stem cell *** objective is to stimulate fresh perspectives for further research in this promising field.

Influence of G-protein β-Polypeptide 3 C825T Polymorphism on Antihypertensive Response to Telmisartan and Amlodipine in Chinese Patients

Background： G-protein β-polypeptide 3 （GNB3） is a β subunit isoform of G-protein that plays important role in signal transduction of membrane G-protein coupled receptors （GPCRs）. The GNB3 splice variant C825T （rs5443） is associated with risk for essential hypertension （EH） and efficacy of therapeutic drugs targeting GPCRs. It is unknown whether the polymorphism is associated with blood pressure （BP） response to telmisartan or amlodipine, two widely prescribed antihypertensive drugs. Methods： A total of 93 subjects initially diagnosed as EH were recruited and underwent a 4-week treatment with telmisartan （42 patients） or amlodipine （51 patients） monotherapy. Both baseline and after-treatment BP were measured. GNB3 C825T polymorphism was genotyped by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism. Results： Baseline systolic BP （SBP） and diastolic BP （DBP） were comparable among C825T genotypes in both telmisartan and amlodipine treatment groups. Patients with the CT or TT genotypes showed significantly lower body mass index （BMI） as compared with CC homozygotes in both groups （P 〈 0.05, respectively）. GNB3 825TT homozygotes showed significantly higher alier-treatment DBP and mean arterial presstire （MAP） than those carrying at least one 825C allele （P 〈 0.01） in the telmisartan treatment group. No difference in after-treatment SBE DBP, and MAP levels among C825T genotypes was observed in the amlodipine treatment group. No significant difference in absolute changes in BP levels was observed among the genotypes in either treatment group. Conchlsion： The GNB3 C825T splice variant is associated with the DBP-lowering effect of telmisartan but not amlodipine in Chinese EH patients.

Synergistic effect of MTHFR C677T and F2 G20210A polymorphisms on ischemic stroke

The predisposition to stroke might involve interactive effects among variants in several *** tested this hypothesis by examining the influence of polymorphisms in methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase（MTHFR）（C677T） and prothrombin（F2）（G20210A） as risk factors for stroke in *** polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism methods were used to analyze DNA from 91 stroke patients and 182 *** between the two polymorphisms and the risk of stroke was estimated by four-level models for the analysis of genetic *** the MTHFR 677TT nor the F2 20210GA genotype showed any significant association compared to the MTHFR CC and F2 GG genotypes,*** interactive effect between the MTHFR 677TT and F2 20210GA polymorphisms showed an increased risk of *** odds ratios,in univariate and multivariate analysis,for the combined polymorphisms were 4.99（95% CI,1.75–14.2,P = 0.001） and 5.29（95% CI,1.63–17.1,P = 0.005）,respectively.

AIM:To evaluate the relationship between gene polymorphism(BclI,ER22/23EK,N363S)and the occurrence,progression and sensitivity to glucocorticoid of lacrimal gland benign lymphoepithelial lesion(LGBLEL).METHODS:clinical peripheral blood samples of 52 LGBLEL patients and 10 normal volunteers were collected for DNA extraction and polymerase chain reaction sequencing to analyze single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)*** lacrimal tissues of LGBLEL were surgically removed and made into paraffin sections for subsequent hematoxylin-eosin(HE)and Masson staining *** duration of disease and hormone use of LGBLEL patients from diagnosis to surgery were also *** Meta-analysis follows PRISMA guidelines to conducted a systematic review of human studies investigating the relationship between the NR3C1 BclI polymorphism and glucocorticoids(GCs)***:There was no association between ER22/23EK or N363S and the occurrence of LGBLEL or GCs sensitivity(P>0.05);BclI GC genotype was closely related to GCs resistance(P=0.03)as is the minor allele C(P=0.0017).The HE staining and Masson staining showed that the GC genotype of BclI remarkably slowed down the disease progression and reduced fibrosis(Pclinical treatment strategy for the LGBLEL patients.
