Characteristics of the microbial communities regulate soil multi-functionality under different cover crop amendments in Ultisol

The use of cover crops is a promising strategy for influencing the soil microbial consortium,which is essential for the delivery of multiple soil functions(i.e.,soil multifunctionality).Nonetheless,relatively little is known about the role of the soil microbial consortium in mediating soil multifunctionality under different cover crop amendments in dryland ***,we assessed the multifunctionality of soils subjected to four cover crop amendments(control,non-amended treatment;RD,radish monoculture;HV,hairy vetch monoculture;and RDHV,radish-hairy vetch mixture),and we investigated the contributions of soil microbial richness,network complexity,and ecological clusters to soil *** results demonstrated that cover crops whose chemical composition differed from that of the main plant crop promoted higher multifunctionality,and the radish-hairy vetch mixture rendered the highest *** obtained evidence that changes in soil microbial richness and network complexity triggered by the cover crops were associated with higher soil ***,specialized microbes in a key ecological cluster(ecological cluster 2)of the soil microbial network were particularly important for maintaining soil *** results highlight the importance of cover crop-induced variations in functionally important taxa for promoting the soil multifunctionality of dryland Ultisols.

One specimen belonging to the family Comatellinae was collected from the Zhenbei Seamount(332.5–478.2 m)in the South China Sea in July *** on the morphological characters,the specimen was identified as Palaeocomatella hiwia McKnight,*** is first recorded from China Sea and redescribed in *** specimen differs from the original description from New Zealand for never showing syzygy at br4+5 or br5+6 on interior and br1+2 on exterior ***,it is much conform to the redescription to specimens from Indonesia,with only differences in position of the second syzygy and distalmost pinnule *** is deposited in the Institute of Oceanology,Chinese Academy of *** analyses based on the mitochondrial c oxidase subunit I(COI)and 16S rRNA genes indicated that *** was nested within the tribe Phanogeniini and clustered with Aphanocomaster ***,*** showed same morphological features in terms of mouth placement,comb location,and number of comb teeth rows as other genera of ***,we suggest that the genus Palaeocomatella should be put in the tribe Phanogeniini.

Effect of Ta_(2)O_(5)nanoparticles on bioactivity,composition,structure,in vitro and in vivo behavior of PEO coatings on Mg-alloy

The present study investigates the physical and chemical characteristics,behavior in vitro and in vivo,and biocompatibility of coatings containing Ta_(2)O_(5),which are obtained by plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO)on MA8 magnesium *** obtained coatings demonstrate in vivo biocompatibility and in vitro *** to the base PEO coating,the layers containing Ta_(2)O_(5)facilitate the development of apatite in simulated body fluid,suggesting that the inclusion of nanoparticles improves bioactivity of the *** was found that incorporation of Ta_(2)O_(5)nanoparticles increases roughness and porosity of the formed layers by increasing particle concentration in electrolytes for the PEO process contributing to sufficient soft tissue ingrowth in *** on in vivo studies,these coatings also provide favorable tissue response and minimal inflammatory reaction in comparison with the bare magnesium alloy due to protection of living tissues from deleterious corrosion events of magnesium implant such as local alkalization and intense hydrogen *** results obtained in the present study concluded biocompatibility,tissue integration of the PEO coatings containing Ta_(2)O_(5)nanoparticles making them a promising protective layer for biodegradable magnesium implants.

Systemic analysis of metabolome reconfiguration in Arabidopsis after abiotic stressors uncovers metabolites that modulate defense against pathogens

The utilization of enteroviruses engineered with reporter genes serves as a valuable tool for advancing our understanding of enterovirus biology and its applications,enabling the development of effective therapeutic and preventive *** this study,our initial attempts to introduce a NanoLuc luciferase(NLuc)reporter gene into recombinant enteroviruses were unsuccessful in rescuing viable *** hypothesized that the size of the inserted tag might be a determining factor in the rescue of the ***,we inserted the 11-amino-acid HiBiT tag into the genomes of enterovirus A71(EV-A71),coxsackievirus A10(CVA10),coxsackievirus A7(CVA7),coxsackievirus A16(CVA16),namely EV-A71-HiBiT,CVA16-HiBiT,CVA10-HiBiT,CVA7-HiBiT,and observed that the HiBiT-tagged viruses exhibited remarkably high rescue ***,the HiBiT-tagged enteroviruses displayed comparable characteristics to the wild-type viruses.A direct comparison between CVA16-NLuc and CVA16-HiBiT recombinant viruses revealed that the tiny HiBiT insertion had minimal impact on virus infectivity and replication ***,these HiBiT-tagged enteroviruses demonstrated high genetic stability in different cell lines over multiple *** addition,the HiBiT-tagged viruses were successfully tested in antiviral drug assays,and the sensitivity of the viruses to drugs was not affected by the HiBiT ***,our findings provide definitive evidence that the integration of HiBiT into enteroviruses presents a universal,convenient,and invaluable method for advancing research in the realm of enterovirus ***,HiBiT-tagged enteroviruses exhibit great potential for diverse applications,including the development of antivirals and the elucidation of viral infection mechanisms.

Changes in sexual activity in young women during pregnancy

Objective:To conduct changes in sexual activity during pregnancy and its related factors in pregnant ***:The present descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in 2017 on pregnant women who referred to the women's clinic of Afzalipour Hospital in the southeast of *** were included in the study through convenient *** data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire consisting of two parts of personal social information of the couple and questions to measure the level of sexual activity and the attitude of the subjects during pregnancy compared to before ***:201 Pregnant women were *** average age of pregnant women was(27.3±6.1)years and their average gestational age was(24.7±11.8)*** than 62%of women had decreased sexual *** was a significant relationship between the amount of changes in sexual activity and delivery time(P=0.013),abortion history(P=0.001)and premature birth history(P=0.002).Most pregnant women believed that sex during pregnancy caused damage to the fetus(67.7%).A decrease in the intensity of sexual desire was reported in 63%of pregnant *** than 60%of the subjects did not consult with doctors and midwives with regards to sexual issues(63.5%).The most common reason for not consulting was not feeling the need(32%).Most women experienced back pain during(42.8%)and after(39.8%)***:Changes in sex life during pregnancy are often caused by the lack of sexual knowledge and the increase in misconceptions among couples,which can affect the quality of *** role of education is ***,it is suggested that by including sexual counseling along with pregnancy care,wrong beliefs and information among women will be corrected.

RARRES2 regulates lipid metabolic reprogramming to mediate the development of brain metastasis in triple negative breast cancer

Effect on serum metabolomics of rats with premature ovarian insufficiency by Zhibian(BL54) through Shuidao(ST28) acupuncture

OBJECTIVE:To analyze the serum metabolic targets of the"Zhibian(BL54)through Shuidao(ST28)"acupuncture technique in cyclophosphamide(CTX)-induced premature ovarian insufficiency(POI)model rats and to elucidate the potential molecular mechanism of acupuncture in improving ***:We used an intraperitoneal injection of CTX to establish the POI rat model(POI group)and compared serum hormone levels and ovarian histopathological changes to evaluate the effect of the Zhibian(BL54)through Shuidao(ST28)technique(ZS+POI group)on ovarian ***,nontargeted metabolomics was performed using rat serum by ultra-performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry(UPLC-Q-TOF/MS).RESULTS:After acupuncture intervention,the serum hormone levels and ovarian pathological morphology of POI rats were effectively ***,UPLC-Q-TOF/MS results showed that the ZS+POI group showed a significant reversal of the levels of 6 differential *** them,the levels of four serum metabolic markers,divanillyltetrahydrofuran ferulate,trans-ferulic acid,tryptamine,and neuraminic acid,increased *** analysis of biological effects showed that all metabolites were involved in the regulation of reproductive hormone levels and antioxidant and antiapoptotic ***:The"Zhibian(BL54)through Shuidao(ST28)"acupuncture method may improve the ovarian function of POI rats by regulating serum metabolite markers to exert antioxidant and antiapoptotic effects,which provides a theoretical basis for the clinical application of acupuncture in the treatment of POI.

Advance on Chinese Medicine for Hypertensive Renal Damage:Focus on the Complex Molecular Mechanisms

Hypertensive renal damage(HRD) is a major cause of end-stage renal disease. Among the causes of end-stage renal disease, HRD accounts for nearly 34% of the total number of cases. Antihypertensive treatment is primarily drug-based, but therapeutic efficacy is less effective and can have serious side effects. Chinese medicine(CM) has significant advantages in the treatment of HRD. CM is rich in various active ingredients and has the property of targeting multiple targets and channels. Therefore, the regulatory network of CM on disease is complex. A large number of CM have been employed to treat HRD, either as single applications or as part of compound formulations. The key possible mechanisms of CM for HRD include regulation of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, antioxidation, anti-inflammation, rescue of endothelial function, regulation of vasoactive substance secretion and obesity-related factors, etc. This review summarized and discussed the recent advance in the basic research mechanisms of CM interventions for HRD and pointed out the challenges and future prospects.

Rapid and sensitive detection of urinary KIM-1 using fully printed photonic crystal microarrays

Urinary kidney injury molecule 1(uKIM-1)serves as a reliable marker for the early diagnosis of acute kidney injury(AKI).The rapid and facile detection of changes in uKIM-1 is essential for early AKI diagnosis,ultimately improving the prognosis of *** this study,we developed a fully printed photonic crystal-integrated microarray with photonic crystal-enhanced fluorescence properties,which can detect uKIM-1 levels at the *** confirmed its efficacy in the early diagnosis of AKI using clinical urine *** quantitative detection of uKIM-1 was achieved within 10 *** lowest limit of detection is 8.75 pg·mL^(-1) with an accuracy of 94.2%.The diagnostic efficacy was validated using 86 clinical urine samples,highlighting the high sensitivity and stability of the photonic crystal ***,a facile and reliable immunoassay was designed and prepared for the rapid quantitative detection of uKIM-1,which is crucial for the early identification and convenient detection of AKI in hospital or community ***,convenient,cost-effective,and long-term monitoring of changes in uKIM-1 levels can assist clinicians in making timely adjustments to treatment regimens,preventing the transition from AKI to chronic kidney disease(CKD),improving the quality of life of patients with AKI,and reducing healthcare *** highlights the advantages of utilizing urine samples as a noninvasive and easily accessible medium for early detection and monitoring of kidney-related conditions.
